Chapter 4 Spoiled report.

Though Hazel yelled in anger and grief, Rowen neither uttered a word nor gave an apologetic look. He was standing firm. After a while, he said, "this is just a useless report containing only just basics of genetic engineering. It has many mistakes. It doesn't meet the standards of a report that is to be submitted by a graduate in an interview.

If you have doubts regarding it, you can refer to the markings I made on the report. They aren't scribblings of a child but suggestions of a person who knows more about this field than you."

After listening to his words, both of them were speechless.They gave him a shocked look. Then Aanya finally spoke, "do you know the standards of Hazel? She is very clever and always tops in her university. I think you made a mistake in analysing the report. Moreover how do you know about bio technology?"

When Hazel was about to say something, a caller tune played suddenly. It was Aanya's mobile. She answered the call and came to know that the customer was waiting for her at the construction site and asked her to come fast. When she said about the call, Rowen moved out casually as if nothing happened without bothering the looks on their faces.

Then Aanya apologised on behalf of Rowen. Hazel said, "forget about it. You don't have to apologize for the mistake done by your assistant. I will recheck the report and correct the mistakes. Don't worry about me. Go and complete your work." Then Aanya said with a sad look that she will leave.

Then they both hugged each other and bid farewell to each other. When Aanya left the house, Hazel moved to occupy the chair at the study table to make the report again.

Soon Aanya and Rowen left the house and Hazel busied herself in reading the spoiled report to see the mistakes he has marked on it.

On their way to construction site, Aanya asked him about the report. Then he said, "I have already said about it. There is nothing to speak about it further." After saying this he busied himself in analysing the report on the construction and didn't speak anything further.

Even Aanya remained silent as she adjusted herself to his behaviour. She knows that he will not speak anything if he isn't interested. After a few minutes, they reached the site, met the customer and talked regarding the construction. It went smoothly.

After the meeting with the customer, Rowen arrived home. He met his friend, who was writing something by sitting on the sofa in living room. Both sat together and shared what they learnt today.

Then suddenly Rowen changed his expressions and started saying, "Today Aanya took me to her friend. She is a daughter of a scientist. I saw many pictures in her house which were hanging on the wall. They are the photos which we received through the signal and our scientists came to know about this planet. We are born only because of these photos. Do you remember them?"

Actually, when Rowen entered Hazel's house, he saw some photos of different species, buildings etc... which looked familiar. On keen observation, he discovered that they are the same photos which shocked the aliens an year ago on his planet, P. So he took some photos of them secretly in his mobile.

When Edwin saw the photos, he looked closely and said, "yes, I think they are same photos. So her father might be the one who sent the signal to know about our existence. Did you ask her anything about this issue and the photos?"

Rowen replied, "I thought of asking but something happened and I had no choice to speak about it." Then he narrated everything about the incident.

After thinking for a while, Edwin said, "You try to know more about this and the status of the research on aliens. If there is anything important, let's inform our officials in our planet. Then he can guide us what to do further."

Edwin continued, "we don't know the humans knowledge on genetic engineering. So don't try to point out the mistakes and change the theories in that field based on our knowledge.

It may raise the suspicions about us. Be careful when you deal with such circumstances later. I think they aren't well advanced in this field. So what they thought as great in this field seemed basic knowledge for us."

Kensing agreed and they continued doing their chores and preparing the report and learning more on their respective fields through books, internet etc... and also discussed about the photos and what to do with them.
