Chapter 5 Meeting At The Police Station

"Anne, how did you get that string of Buddhist prayer beads?"

After getting out of the HP Group, Benson got in the car and stared at Anne's wrist curiously.

After all, there must have been a good reason why Kaiser had asked her about it.

Why else would a man like Kaiser be interested in women's jewelry?

"It's from Sherry," Anne replied calmly.

"Sherry ?" Benson's eyes widened with surprise.

Why did Sherry have to be so lucky?

"Yes." Anne nodded, squinting her eyes in anger as she continued, "Dad, please find a way to send Sherry abroad, or else..."

"Or else what?" Benson frowned as he knew what she was actually thinking.

After all, his daughter was never a good person and he knew it very well.

Anne smiled and said, "Dad, are you willing to give up on such a wealthy son-in-law? "

"But, you just..."

"Do you really think Kaiser will marry me just because he slept with me once?"

Anne interrupted Benson before he could even finish his words.

Benson sighed and nodded to imply that he had understood what she had meant. With a proud smile on his face, he patted the back of her hand and said, "You've really grown up. From now on, our whole family will rely on you."

Anne smiled happily, but she didn't hesitate to remind him again, "So about Sherry..."

"Yes, I hear you! Alright, I'll send her abroad. It's of no good to stick in a stalemate with her. After all, your brother is still very young and he needs her mother to look after him." Benson tried to comfort her with his words.

"Okay! Please try to make it happen as soon as possible."

"Leave it to me." Benson then took out his phone and dialed Madisyn's number.

The moment she answered his call, he said, "Where is Sherry?"

Madisyn was curious to know why Benson was looking for Sherry all of a sudden. However, instead of questioning his motives, she answered, "She's in her room. Do you want me to call her?"

"No, there's no need. Just tell her not to go anywhere and wait for me at home."

"Okay, I see. I'll tell Sherry right away."

After hanging up the phone, Madisyn went up to look for Sherry almost immediately.

However, as soon as she arrived at Sherry's room, the door was opened from the inside and out came Sherry, rushing to leave in a hurry.

"Sherry! Where are you going?" Madisyn shouted at once.

"Mom, I have something important to deal with. I'll be back soon." Sherry ran down the stairs without even looking back as she spoke.

"Come back! Come back! Benson said..."

Unfortunately, before Madisyn could finish her words, Sherry had already walked out, like a strong gust of wind.

"Sherry!"

Although Sherry had heard her mother screaming her name, she was in an awful hurry.

This was the first time she had so blatantly disobeyed Madisyn since they became a part of the Xia Family.

Sherry ran to the main road and hailed a taxi, as she breathlessly said to the driver, "Please take me to the police station as quickly as possible!"

Just now, her boyfriend, Sean Lu, had called her, asking her to bail him out after he got arrested for getting in a fight with someone.

Sean's family had been going through a difficult time as of late after his father went bankrupt and his mother had to be taken to the hospital. Sherry knew that he was under a lot of stress.

Sherry didn't know what Sean would do if he didn't have her to care for him.

About half an hour later, the taxi driver pulled over in front of the police station. After paying the fare, Sherry quickly got off the car and ran inside as fast as she could.

"Ah!"

While she was rushing to get into the police station, she accidentally bumped into someone and fell to the floor.

"Hey, girl, do you know who you just bumped into? You've got good taste, I'll give you that!"

Sherry heard someone mocking her while she was on the floor, grimacing in pain.

As she raised her head, she locked eyes with a pair of deep-set dark eyes.

All of a sudden, a gasp of shock escaped her lips and a trace of fear flashed across her eyes.

Could it really be him?

"What's wrong, Kaiser? Do you know her? " The man who was teasing Sherry looked at the poker-faced man standing next to him curiously and then smiled. "Hey! Why don't you introduce me to your pretty friend?"

"Shut up!" Kaiser cast a cold glare at Cooper Qin as he walked past Sherry sitting on the floor and then strode away nonchalantly.

"Kaiser, don't be angry. I didn't expect that I would be beaten on my first day in NH City. I swear that I didn't start it." Cooper quickly concealed his smug grin as he ran after Kaiser apologetically.

Kaiser, however, simply ignored him.

Meanwhile, a look of confusion appeared on Sherry's face as she watched them, but then as soon as she remembered Sean, she staggered back to her feet and entered the police station.

"Sherry!"

As soon as she stepped in, she heard a familiar voice.

Sherry turned around and saw two men putting handcuffs on Sean as they pressed him against the table and there was blood all over his face.

"Sean!" Sherry screamed in horror and ran over to him.

"Sherry! Please hurry up and talk to that man in the dark blue suit. His name is Kaiser Huangpu. If you can convince him to drop the charges, they'll let me go, otherwise, I'm done for," Sean pleaded anxiously when he saw Sherry.

'Kaiser Huangpu?'

Sherry fell into a contemplative silence.

She may have not seen Kaiser Huangpu in person, but she must have heard of him.

"Why are you still standing there? Go and ask him to let me go, or I'll be dead for sure." Sean shouted at Sherry.

"Okay, okay, I'm going." As soon as Sean's loud voice brought her back to her senses, she turned around and ran after Kaiser.
