Chapter 7 Long Time No See

Kira parked the car and tried to cheer herself up, so that she would look more energetic.

With a ding, the elevator doors opened. She stepped out and walked towards her office in her high heels.

"Good morning, Miss Lin," one staff greeted her.

"Good morning," she replied.

After passing through a row of cubicles, she pushed the door of her office open. She then put away the things in her hands and sank into her office chair.

At this moment, she heard some knocks on the door.

Kira took a deep breath, sat upright, and put on a stern look on her face. She then said softly, "Please come in."

A woman pushed the office door open and came in.

She was Laura Feng, a young woman in her early twenties and Kira's assistant.

Laura walked over to Kira with a smile on her face. She then put down the document in her hands on the table in front of Kira and said, "Miss Lin, this is the advertisement plan for HL Shampoo that you want. Please take a look at it, and if there's no problem, please sign it."

Kira nodded and said, "Okay. Just wait here. I'll check it now."

As she spoke, she picked up the document and began to look through it. After a few moments, she slightly frowned and read it intently.

While standing aside, Laura had nothing to do, so she couldn't help but look at Kira up and down.

After a while, Kira must have felt Laura's gaze because she looked up and asked helplessly, "Laura, what are you looking at? Is there something wrong with my face?"

Upon hearing Kira's voice, Laura smiled awkwardly and said, "No, Miss Lin. There's nothing wrong with your face. But you seem to look more haggard today than yesterday. Did the blind date not go well?"

Laura was just an assistant, but she dared to tease Kira. It seemed that Kira had always been gentle to her subordinates and hadn't scolded them seriously.

Kira took a pen and signed the document. She then stood up and gently patted Laura's head with it.

"Instead of observing my face and gossiping about my blind date, why don't you go and urge the A Company to finish the advertising plan? That plan should have been handed over to me last month. But until now, they are not done with it yet."

Laura took the signed document from Kira and chuckled. She then said, "Don't worry. I'll go and urge them later."

Kira nodded slightly. She walked over to the water dispenser and got a glass of water for herself. She then turned to Laura and said, "Well, you can go back to your work now."

"Okay." Laura turned around and walked to the door. But after taking a few steps, she stopped.

"By the way, Miss Lin, the general manager just came and asked you to go to the meeting room. It seems that there is a big client there."

Kira stopped drinking and frowned with a thoughtful expression on her face.

A big client? Who could it be? As far as she could remember, she didn't have any important clients recently.

But still, she replied, "I see. Okay, I'll go there."

Upon hearing her answer, Laura turned around again and went out of her office with the document.

Kira drank up the water in her glass and went to the meeting room, feeling a little doubtful.

As soon as she stepped out of the elevator, she saw the meeting room at a glance.

When she entered the meeting room, she saw the general manager smiling brightly and talking to a man sitting opposite him.

The man had his back to Kira, so she couldn't see his face. But from the line of his back and the pair of slender legs overlapping each other, she could tell that he had a commendable figure.

When she realized that her thoughts were drifting away, Kira shook her head.

She was still standing at the door of the meeting room. She took a deep breath to calm herself down and adjusted her mood before she raised her hand and knocked on the door.

"Good morning, Mr. Xu," Kira greeted softly.

The middle-aged man turned his head towards the door and said, "Miss Lin, please come in."

He was Nathan Xu, the general manager of JY Advertising Company.

With a faint smile on her face, Kira pushed the door wider and walked up to him. "What's up, Mr. Xu?" she asked.

Nathan stood up and smiled at her kindly.

"Miss Lin, let me introduce our visitor to you first. This is Mr. Reid Shen, the president of Shen Group."

Kira's eyes widened in shock, and her mouth gaped. She turned her head stiffly towards the man who was still sitting there with a gentle smile on his handsome face. She was in utter disbelief.

Reid Shen! It was really him!

While Kira looked so shocked, Reid was much calmer. The smile on his face reached his deep-set black eyes. He said in a low and pleasant voice, "Kira, long time no see."

Reid was right. Indeed, they hadn't seen each other for five long years.

Somehow, Kira managed to smile awkwardly. She looked away from Reid and said wryly, "Yes, Mr. Shen, it's been a long time."

Standing next to them, Nathan shifted his gaze from Kira to Reid and back before he asked in confusion, "Miss Lin, do you know Mr. Shen?"

Kira had been working in the company for almost four years, but she had never mentioned that she knew Reid.

Kira wanted to say something, but before she could open her mouth, Reid spoke first.

"Yes, we've known each other for many years. Actually, we graduated from the same university. At that time, I was the president of the student union and she worked in the student union. Right, Kira?"

He raised his delicate eyebrows, looked at Kira, and smiled faintly.

Kira forced a fake smile and answered, "Yes, he's right. Small world, isn't it?"

She had worked in the student union because Reid forced her to do so.

"Oh, really?" Nathan was surprised. Looking at Reid and Kira, he could tell that the two had a good relationship.

He quickly smiled and said, "It's great that you know each other. We can sit down and chat over tea."

Nathan wanted to rely on Kira's relationship with Reid to win Shen Group's advertisement project this quarter. In this way, they didn't need to worry about their performance this year.

Reid pursed his lips and smiled slightly. He then said something that made Kira's heart skip a beat.

"We're quite familiar."

Kira sat down stiffly. His words confused her a little, and she felt weird.

'Are we that close?' she thought inwardly. They hadn't seen each other for five years. Weren't they supposed to be strangers now?

As the three of them sat down, the atmosphere inside the meeting room got a little strange.

Reid never took his gaze away from Kira.

But Kira kept her head down desperately as if she wanted to disappear into thin air.

After a while, Nathan brought up the topic.

"Mr. Shen, Miss Lin is the creative director of our company. She will be responsible for the advertising of LH Hotel. What do you think?"
