Chapter 3 Caspar's Appearance

Esteban, who was standing on the stage, looked so aloof and indifferent. Janiya had been pulling the hemline of his suit jacket, but he just ignored her. His eyes were fixed on the woman who was walking towards him.

He had never seen this woman before. But if she could help him destroy this engagement party, he would be more than happy.

Esteban didn't like Janiya in the first place. If his mother hadn't threatened him with her own life, he wouldn't be standing here today.

A hint of playfulness flashed across his eyes. He just raised his eyebrows and waited for the woman without any makeup to end all this.

"Mommy, wait for me!"

A little boy came out behind the crowd and rushed to the woman.

Margaret was stunned for a moment. Then she turned around, squatted down, and kissed the little boy on the forehead shyly. She was so excited just now that she almost forgot her son.

Caspar was speechless, giving his silly mother a cold look. He was enjoying his food just now, but he didn't expect that his mother would be so impatient. The host had just started his greetings, and yet, she already rushed over.

He heaved a sigh and kissed Margaret on the cheek.

Actually, it was a vindictive kiss because it made Margaret's face full of his saliva. When he saw that her face was about to darken, he quickly raised his little hand to wipe her face. After wiping all the saliva on Margaret's face, Caspar held her hand and shook it back and forth.

"Mommy, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do it."

Caspar knew pretty well that coquetry was a magic weapon that would definitely win. And it worked this time as well.

The crowd were taken aback the moment they saw Caspar. How could this child look so much like Esteban?

Their gazes shifted from the little boy to Esteban on the stage. It was as if they wanted to confirm what they were seeing.

Esteban was also wondering why the little boy's face looked so familiar. When he noticed that everyone's eyes were shifting back and forth from him to the little boy several times, he realized that the little boy was exactly a mini version of him.

The playfulness in his eyes vanished at once. He was back to his indifferent look again.

"Is that little boy Mr. Pei's illegitimate son?"

Gossip was truly fearful. Once it started, it would spread like wildfire.

"They look so much alike. I guess the boy is around six or seven years old."

"Six or seven years old? It only means that Mr. Pei became a father when he was still in college. Holy crap!" someone exclaimed.

"Since he already has a son, why does he still want to be engaged to Ms. Mo?"

Lights and cameras were focused on Margaret and Caspar all the time. It annoyed Margaret, so she frowned. However, when she thought that she was here to ruin the engagement party and not to insult the reporters, she held back her anger. She was also afraid that her precious son would be frightened under so many people's gazes, so she held him in her arms.

Those reporters who were able to enter the hall were all officially invited, so they could only behave themselves. Instead of questioning Esteban directly, they all stood aside, watching and anticipating what would happen next.

People's discussion had become louder and louder. This was such a scandal for TJ Group. As Esteban's mother, how could Melody Ye bear to hear such gossips?

Having been in the upper class for a long time, she cared about her dignity and reputation. She glared at Esteban, who was now wearing a long face.

"Esteban! Tell me what's going on here. Who is that boy?"

However, Esteban's lips just pursed tightly, and he said nothing. His face was dark and cold.

This woman showed up out of nowhere to ruin his engagement party, and she even brought a child with her. Supposedly, it didn't really matter to him. But the problem was, the child looked exactly like him.

Before Esteban could recover from the shock, Janiya held his arm with tears welling up in her eyes.

"Boo...hoo... Esteban, you already have a child. Why would you still want to get engaged to me?"

Esteban's face darkened at once. He despised women who cried. And he hated women who wept with heavy makeup the most. He was about to shake off her hand and go down to ask what was going on when he heard someone exclaim, "Isn't she Miss An who disappeared seven years ago? Why is she here with Mr. Pei's son?"

"Right! That's her!"

"Could her disappearance have something to do with the child?"

It was only then that the reporters realized that it was such an important headline.

This time, they rushed towards Margaret and Caspar without inhibitions.

Cameras from different directions focused on Margaret and Caspar, clicking nonstop. But Margaret didn't take them seriously. Since those reporters wanted to shoot and write a good story about today's incident, she couldn't stop them from doing so. Anyway, after what she did today, Esteban was unable to get engaged together.

No one noticed that the scene had been broadcasted live. When the head of the An family saw his daughter appear on the screen holding a chubby boy in her arms, he clenched his fists angrily. The next moment, he released them with a big smile.

Compared to the humiliation that Margaret's pregnancy before marriage brought to the An family, the child in her arms was the most important at the moment. He was the way for the An family to attach themselves to the Pei family. If he had known before that Margaret was pregnant with Esteban's child, he would have never driven her out of their house. Instead, he would have treated her like a princess.

Margaret didn't think so. She had already cut ties with the An family. In the future, she would have nothing to do with them.

"The An family?"

Esteban murmured. 'What a coincidence! How come that it's the An family again?'

No one knew when and how, but Margaret had already passed through the crowd and stepped onto the stage. With an innocent smile, she put Caspar down.

She then said, "Caspar, he is your daddy."

As soon as Margaret finished speaking, she heard a crazy roar beside her. When she glanced sideways, she found that it was Janiya.

"You bitch! Have you no shame? How dare you steal my fiance! You'll pay for your actions! I will kill you..."

Esteban looked at Janiya coldly and didn't do anything. If she wanted to kill the woman, he had no objection. In this way, he could keep his hands clean.

The host standing next to Janiya held her two arms hurriedly and tried to calm her down.

He tried to convince her by saying, "Ms. Mo, don't be too impulsive. It's against the law to kill someone."

However, Janiya just turned a deaf ear to him. She just punched and kicked in Margaret's direction while keep on shouting, "I will kill you! You really are a shameless bitch!"

Unfortunately, Janiya was too far to even lay a finger on Margaret.

As soon as Melody saw the chubby little boy, she liked him so much. She was immediately convinced that he was her grandson. Actually, she didn't feel anything special when she saw the boy from afar just now. But now, she held Caspar in her arms and kept calling him "dear."

She had been wishing that Esteban would get married as soon as possible so that she could have a grandson. Now that her grandson was right in front of her, how could she not feel excited?

"Mom, we haven't confirmed yet if he is really my son,"

Esteban reminded her. His face was still dark and cold. But although he said so, it was still undeniable. If it weren't for his genes, how could a child look like him so much?

The guests in the hall were in an uproar. And the reporters were either live streaming or taking photos. Esteban got more irritated with the scene below the stage.

When he glanced at Janiya, who had totally gone nuts, his face became colder. He had been the president of TJ Group for so many years and had experienced so many things. But this was the first time that he encountered such a chaotic situation.
