Chapter 7 I Won't Marry You

Isaac cautiously opened the door. To his surprise, the person standing on the other side wasn't Wilson, but Aron.

"Sir, Mrs. Su asked me to bring you and Miss Su to see her," Aron said politely.

Raising his eyebrows, Isaac asked, "How did Grandma find out about this?"

Aron cleared his throat, looking embarrassed. "Sir, the news about you and Miss Su are all over the TV and the front page of every major newspaper in the city. Unfortunately, Mrs. Su had already seen the news before I could do anything to stop them from spreading."

Clearly, the problem was far more serious than he had imagined.

"Have you dealt with the reporters outside? Have they already left?"

"Yes. I arranged for two people, disguised as you and Miss Su, to draw them away from the building. The company's stock prices took a plunge today, but Mrs. Su has already asked Mark to take care of it. She wants you to go back to her at once. Please come with me."

The Su family was the most influential family in the entire city, as such, this scandal certainly managed to raise everyone's eyebrows.

Since the news about the CEO of Su Group spending the night with his fiancee's younger sister was all over the media, the Su family had become the prime focus of public scrutiny.

Mark Mo was Isaac's most trustworthy assistant. As long as he was handling things, Isaac knew that the company was in good hands. What worried what him most now was his fiancee, Madelyn. He needed to see her immediately, so he could explain to her that this was all just an accident. After all, today was their wedding day, but after everything that had happened, he didn't know how he would face her. The first thing on his agenda was to go back to the Su family residence and give his grandmother an explanation.

After Shirley got dressed, she walked out of the bathroom to find Isaac all tidied up and sitting on the sofa, lost in deep contemplation. When Shirley looked at the man, she realized that he was far different from the man she saw when she opened her eyes this morning. The man's return to his usual distant self, pulled her back to reality, much to her disappointment.

The sound of her footsteps drew Isaac's attention, who looked up at Shirley without saying anything for a long time.

"Shirley, what happened between us last night was my fault. I am willing to give you anything you want as compensation, but I'm afraid I can't grant you the identity of my wife. You know, I won't marry anyone else except your sister."

The look on Isaac's face was sincere and calculative, as if he was talking about business. Shirley could ask for anything her heart desired. It was such a tempting offer from the CEO of Su Group.

Unfortunately, his words were like the lightest flick of a knife to Shirley, counterweighted by the sensation his deep voice sent through her. Stunned, she stood there frozen, almost as if she had forgotten how to breathe. She wanted to burst into tears, but she stifled her emotions as her expressionless facade masked her despair.

"There's no need for any compensation. What happened last night wasn't your fault. We should put this behind us and forget this ever happened. I...I wish you and my sister happiness." Shirley tried her best to maintain a smile in front Isaac, feigning indifference.

However, she failed to hide the bitterness in her eyes as she spoke which made Isaac feel sorry for her. He regretted saying those hurtful words. Unfortunately, he didn't know what else to do.

Isaac quickly gathered his composure and stood up, but this time the tone of his voice was softer.

"You don't have to decide right now. Just think it over and let me know when you can. Let's get out of here first." Then he opened the door and walked out first.

Shirley's heart was in pieces as she sighed at the man's receding figure. 'You can't give me what I really want. What's the point in thinking it over? You're doing this just because you feel guilty, right?'

"Miss Su, let's go!"

Aron urged her gently. However, Shirley was too embarrassed to look him in the eye, so she lowered her head and walked behind Isaac. In truth, she couldn't wait to get out of this suffocating place as well. 'Since Isaac's grandma sent Aron here, does that mean that she knows everything?' she wondered.
