Chapter 4 The First Encounter

Isaac couldn't stop devouring her body. They had sex everywhere, from the couch to the carpet to the giant bed in the suite. Shirley became so tired that she gradually drifted off to a dreamy sleep.

Shirley was just five years old when her father passed away. Her mother, Rose Ye, had no choice but to move from C City to A City in order to support her family. Rose was a very popular jewelry designer in the city. She was so good at her job that she was often too busy to spend time with her family. Shirley's elder sister, Madelyn, was the one who took care of her, which made her more dependent on her sister than she was on her mother. Shirley remembered that on one Sunday when their mother was out of town for a few days on a business trip, her eight-year-old sister and their nanny, Diana, took her to the local amusement park to have fun. However, Shirley got lost in the crowded theme park, and when she could not find her sister, she burst into tears, wailing in public.

Not knowing where to go, young Shirley entered the Crystal Love Maze. There was a local legend that couples who were meant to be together would meet in that maze.

Shirley had gone around the maze for the tenth time, and yet, she could not see Diana or her sister anywhere in the vicinity. Shirley was so anxious that she started to cry again. Fear of losing her sister and helplessness crashed through her mind. Panicked, she tried to run, but she tripped over a rock and fell down, hurting her knee. She could not help crying loudly as the pain pierced through her body.

It seemed to her like she had been crying for hours before she heard a boy's voice. "What are you crying for?"

Upon hearing his voice, Shirley felt as though her knight in shining armor came to save her. Her heart leapt with joy as she lifted her head and looked at him. He was a bit taller than her sister and had striking features. Looking at him, she thought to herself, 'What a handsome boy!' She could not help adoring his attractive features.

"Hey! I am asking you. Can you even hear me?" Isaac sounded quite annoyed.

Shirley choked back her sobs and replied in a hoarse voice, "I...I can't find my sister. She was right next to me until I lost her."

"Are you stupid? How can you find her if you just sit here crying?"

Upon hearing that, Shirley looked at him innocently, as though she had no clue of what he was saying.

"Come on, get up. Let's go find your sister," Isaac said, offering her his hand.

"Really? Can you help me find her?" Shirley was very happy. Although they had just met, she somehow felt that she could trust him.

"Well, yes, but if you don't get up, then I will take back my offer," Isaac said in a very serious tone, making Shirley get up anxiously.

"My knee hurts badly," Shirley said as she tried her best to stand up. She was afraid that he might leave her there if she continued to cry and grumble.

"Stop being such a cry baby! If you keep crying, you're going to end up looking very ugly and no one will want to date you," Isaac said in a very serious tone, wanting to frighten her a bit so that she would stop crying, but it only made her cry even more.

"No one likes me. Even Mommy doesn't want to be with me.

You don't like me either, do you?"

For some reason, Isaac could not bear to see her crying. He quickly calmed down and said, "I do like you, but only if you don't cry like a baby. If no one dates you after you grow up, I will." Isaac had never offered comfort to anyone, so that was the best he could do.

Shirley blinked her tears away and asked with a smile, "Really? Is it true that you like me?"

"Yeah, I do. Come on, let me carry you on my back and let's go find your sister," Isaac said as he turned around and squatted down, with his back to Shirley.

"All right," Shirley said with a bright smile as she climbed onto his back. She finally felt at ease.

The moment they stepped out of the maze, they saw several bodyguards in black suits waiting for them. A middle-aged man in the front bowed respectfully to Isaac and said, "Mrs. Su is asking to see you. She wants you to meet with her immediately."

Isaac frowned upon hearing that. He had been made to undergo rigorous training ever since he was just a few years old. He was supposed to take over their family business one day and become the CEO of Su Group. That day, he was asked to manage the theme park, but after walking around for half a day, he had gotten tired, so he had hidden in the maze. That was when he met Shirley. Now that his grandmother, Alannah, had found out about it, she was going to yell at him again.
