Chapter 5 Prince And Princess

Isaac had no choice but to hand over the little girl to Aron, who was the head of the bodyguards.

"Please, help her find her sister."

"Yes, sir!" Aron nodded and then proceeded to take Shirley to the guardhouse.

As Isaac walked in the opposite direction followed by a bevy of bodyguards, Shirley turned around and shouted, "I promise I won't cry anymore. I'll come to you after I grow up. Just promise me that you won't forget me, okay?"

Isaac turned around and smiled at her, eyes twinkling with amusement. 'Does she really take it seriously? What a cute little girl!'

Aron was astonished by the little girl's words. He couldn't believe this four-or-five-year-old girl had already been fascinated by Isaac, a ten-year-old boy. He shook his head helplessly. 'What will Mrs. Su think if she finds out about this?' he wondered.

That was the first time Shirley had met Isaac. From then on, all the little girl could think of was keeping her promise to that boy so she could see him again.

Their paths didn't cross again until Shirley was ten years old. At that time, her mother became the chief jewelry designer of Su Group which earned her the admiration of Isaac's grandmother, the CEO.

Eventually, Shirley's first proper introduction to the Su family happened at Alannah's birthday when she turned sixty. At first, her mother only wanted to bring Madelyn there, but Madelyn insisted that they should bring Shirley with them. Their mother could deny Madelyn nothing, so this was the first time Shirley was able to attend such a banquet. Her heart was full of expectations and she wondered if her sister's words about there being many delicious dishes in the party were actually true or not.

The banquet was held at the luxurious villa of the Su family. Although the Su family didn't intend on having a lavish gathering, the guests that arrived were some of the most prominent people in all of A City. The Su family's influence could not be underplayed as they controlled the economic lifeline of the entire city.

Shirley was over the moon with joy as she wore a white princess dress her sister had given to her. However, when she saw her mother holding only her sister's hand as they walked, the joy in her heart soon dissipated. The poor little girl felt neglected; her mother hadn't held her hand like that in a very long time.

Fortunately, her sadness disappeared as soon as her eyes caught sight of the boy she had been secretly wanting to see.

Isaac looked like Prince Charming out of the fairy tale. Dressed in a white suit, he looked so handsome that all the girls lined up to greet him. Once all the guests had arrived and taken their seats, he sat elegantly behind the piano and his fingers sailed across the keys as though he was some kind of musical prodigy. Shirley gawked at him with big watery eyes, completely smitten by the boy.

A sudden round of applause shook Shirley from her daydreams and when she followed everyone else's gaze, she saw her sister dancing to the music like a beautiful fairy.

After Isaac finished playing the song, Shirley watched him in admiration as he slowly walk down the stage towards her. Shirley was almost certain that he was coming to see her, but she was struck dumb when he walked past her and stood in front of her sister.

When she watched them together, even Shirley couldn't deny the fact that they looked perfect together, almost as if they were a match made in heaven. Eventually, she came to accept the fact that they were the prince and princess from the fairy tales she would always hear about.

A beacon of light pierced through the window, illuminating the darkened room around the two sleeping people. It was the ringing of a cellphone that broke the silence in the room.

Isaac squinted his eyes open, unaware of his surroundings, as he rubbed his temple to ease the headache that was splitting his head in two. 'Where am I? What happened?' As he sat up and grimaced a little because of his sore body, he looked down and found himself naked. Suddenly, the memories from last night started to slowly creep into his head. 'Damn it! I had sex with Madelyn last night.' Isaac cursed at himself for being so careless after he realized that he got tricked by Zachary. By this time, the phone had stopped ringing.

Isaac turned his face towards the woman who was sleeping with her back to him. The blanket had slid down to her waist. His eyes widened at the marks he had left on her fair skin, and the feelings of guilt began to surge up his heart. How could he do this to Madelyn?

He gently held her in his arms and turned her to face him. However, when he saw that the woman he was in bed with wasn't Madelyn, his heart leapt into his throat.

'Shirley? How come she is here?'
