Chapter 6 The Indifferent Man (Part Two)

Selina knew that there was no point in begging to Spenser. In fact, there was no chance for her to win her child back. She only hoped that she could at least see her baby for one last time. "Spenser, please let me see my baby for once. He is my flesh and blood after all!"

Vivian hurriedly chipped in, "Don't even think about it! Fang Family will provide him a good and prosperous life. What are you still worrying about?" She rolled down the window a little and glared at Selina. She didn't want her to see the baby's face.

Selina tried to look inside, but the window opening was too narrow to see anything. She tried several times, but couldn't see her baby.

"Miss Vivian, if these two mad women continue to create a scene like this, we may not be able to leave this place easily. If the reporters found us like this, it'll be big news," Lily said with a worried face.

At the mention of reporters, Vivian frowned. "What do I do then? I can't really kill them."

Lily shook her head. "We can handle this situation with money. We can give them another ten million dollars. I believe then they would be satisfied enough to not interrupt us."

"Will it work? If they really wanted just money, they wouldn't have chased us out."

Just then, another car screeched to a halt beside their car. Vivian glanced at it and saw the press slogans painted on it. It was a media vehicle. That meant, the reporters had found out about their wrangle. Sensing the coming trouble, Vivian stuck out her head quickly and threw out a check towards Selina. "Here is a check of ten million dollars. Is it enough to keep your mouth shut? You could live a wealthy life with these money in exchange for your baby."

Selina's eyebrows furrowed at Vivian's heartless audacity. What did she think of herself? By offering her money, she was making Selina look like a child-trafficker! The onlookers began murmuring even more furiously hearing Vivian's words. However, Selina didn't know if they were blaming Vivian for her cruelty or despising herself for giving up her own child.

Stunned for a moment, Selina shouted, "I don't want your money! I just want my child. Give him back to me!" She grabbed the check frantically and tore it into pieces.

"What a crazy woman! Driver, drive now!" Vivian turned her face away and looked ahead. She disregarded Selina banging on the window crazily. The driver glanced at Selina and hesitated. But he couldn't disobey Vivian's order. After a short moment, he finally stepped on the accelerator and drove away.

"Baby! My baby!" Selina chased after the car for several steps, but tripped on her way and fell on the ground. She could only stare at the bright red car in despair while tears streamed down her face. Her heart broke into million pieces as she watched her flesh and blood going away from her.

"Selina! My daughter..." Jane came and crouched down beside Selina and said sadly, "Don't cry. Crying isn't good for your health. You haven't fully recovered." The wound on her belly had split open due to excessive running and blood began to seep through her clothes.

But this pain was nothing compared to the pain in her heart. "My baby! They took away my baby! Mom, why must all these happen to me?" Selina broke down completely.

"I hate you, Spenser! I won't ever forgive you for the rest of my life!" Selina shouted towards the direction where the car disappeared, hoping that her voice could be heard by Spenser. She hoped that the car would stop miraculously and let her see her child. She hoped that the man she loved would turn around and look at her...at least for once. But all her hopes were in vain.

None of them came true and she felt empty in her heart. She had nothing left in her life. Tears dried out soon as she felt numb.

Her whole world crumpled around her when her baby left and Spenser betrayed her without warning. Selina sat there benumbed and stared at the way the car went. The sudden shock was too much to bear that everything turned black before her eyes and she fainted shortly.

Jane cried watching her poor daughter's condition as she held her tightly in her arms. "My poor child, why are you so star-crossed?"

Meanwhile, the reporters got out of the car one by one and took photos of them fiercely.

"Can you tell me what happened just now?" one of them asked.

Another reporter questioned, "Is the woman who just took away your child, the girlfriend of Spenser from Fang Group and his future wife?"

"Why did she take your child away? Was Spenser Fang also present in the car?" a reporter probed, then added,

"Does it have anything to do with emotional disputes?"

"Mrs. Jane Wang, I've heard that your daughter is a woman of vanity. One year ago, she used despicable means to separate a pair of engaged lovers and married into the rich Fang Family. Do you have any explanations for that?"

The reporters had no sympathy for Selina and Jane's condition as they kept asking questions after questions. If she had known in the past that they would have to see this day, she would never have agreed to let her daughter become the temporary bride of Spenser! If Selina hadn't been the substitute bride of Spenser, she wouldn't have ended up like this.

The story began one year ago.
