Chapter 4 Take Away The Child (Part Two)

"No! No! Don't take away my baby, please!" Selina screamed.

"Let go! I can't let you have the child. Who would pay for my salary? I only care about money. If you want me to leave you and your child alone, you must pay me more than what Miss Vivian is currently offering me."

Lily gave her a menacing glare. Her words sent a chill down Selina's spine. It was impossible for her to pay more than Vivian did. Although she didn't know how much Vivian had given Lily, she was sure that it was not a small amount. While Selina was in a daze, Lily pulled so hard that the child began to cry. At this point, the baby had been completely pulled from his mother's grip.

"My child... My baby..." Selina shouted as tears streamed from her eyes.

"Lily, let's go!" Satisfied that the baby had been taken away by Lily, Vivian turned around and walked towards the door. But Jane stopped them and said, "No, you can't just go like this!"

"Humph! Really? Don't forget what you promised us yesterday. If you still have sense left in you, you'd better stand aside. Otherwise, I'd sue you!"

Her words left Jane defenseless. She knew that Vivian wasn't bluffing. She had always been mean and capricious.

Suddenly, Vivian's eyes fell on the document the lawyer was holding. She turned back to Selina and said, "Oh, I almost forgot! I had your divorce papers brought to you. This would officially end your marriage with Spenser. You need to sign it now." After saying as much, she threw the divorce agreement to Selina, before fishing out a lipstick from her bag. As she re-applied her makeup, she said, "Spenser had already signed it. I just need you to sign your name and I'll leave it to our lawyer to handle the rest."

"I won't sign that even if you kill me. How could you just thrust this document on to me like this?" Selina roared from across the room. She immediately snatched the papers and tore them into pieces.

Without flinching, Vivian casually reached into her bag for another copy. "I know you'd do that, but it's useless. I have an extra copy here. Even if you tear this one again, I can always just bring more copies to you! You will just tire yourself out ripping them all."

Selina staggered and fell down on her bed.

Vivian sneered, "Anyway, you have enough time to think about it before you sign the agreement. I will transfer the fifty million to your account after that. Lily, let's go!"

"Yes, Miss Vivian!" Lily answered loudly.

"No, please... Don't go! Give the baby back to me! Give me my baby! I don't want your money!" Selina shouted as she stood back up to her feet. But Lily instantly knocked her back down.

"Miss Vivian, please give the child back to her!" Jane grabbed Vivian's hand and was about to kneel down, but Vivian merely shook it away and said, "Get your dirty hands off me! Don't touch me!" She then walked out of the door without looking back.

"My son... My baby... Give my child back..." Selina lost control as she tried to stand back up, despite the searing pain in her belly.

"How can you do this? Why are you doing this to us?" Jane shouted as she comforted her daughter, who had rushed out of the room to follow Vivian. All the people who saw them stared. Their eyes widened in curiosity, wondering what the whole scene was about.

As she looked helplessly at Vivian who had been walking away, Selina grabbed Jane's hand and said, "Mom, I'm fine. Please go and get my baby. My baby..." The pain in her stomach was holding her back.

The mother nodded and rushed out without saying anything. Outside, Vivian had already gotten into her car and was about to leave when Jane stood in front of the vehicle. She then looked inside and saw that Spenser was sitting at the back.

She instantly felt a glimmer of hope the moment she saw him. But why didn't he go up to see Selina just now? Didn't he know that he was the one person she wanted to see most? Dismissing her questions, Jane said to him, "Spenser, please give the child back to my daughter. Selina can't live without her baby!"

But behind the car window, the man inside sat like an iceberg, cold and unresponsive.

Once she saw his attitude, Jane had never felt more disappointed. Realizing that it was hopeless to beg him for help, she threatened, "How can you just take the child away like this? Aren't you afraid of retribution in the future?

"Retribution? What's that? There is no such thing as retribution in this world, crazy woman. Now, if you don't want to stand aside, we'd run over your body. Get out of the way!" Vivian said angrily.

Jane was still standing in front of the car, seeming as if she'd rather die than leave. Just then, her voice softened, "Miss Vivian, please give the child back to us. I will give you whatever you want, anything that I have. Just please give the child back. Please, I beg you."

"Move! Get out of the way now! Have you forgotten what you promised us outside the delivery room yesterday?"

Hearing about the promise she made, Jane didn't say anything. She truly regretted agreeing to her request at the time. She then looked back at the man sitting indifferently inside the car and felt as if her heart was breaking. This was the man her daughter had loved for a year. She had done everything for him, but in the end, he treated her heartlessly and cruelly.
