Chapter 10 Substitute Bride (Part One)

'What on earth is she doing here? Is she trying to take advantage of our previous relationship of schoolmates just so she can be my bride today? This woman thinks too highly of herself!

But, no matter what kind of woman she may be, for as long as she is willing to take the offer and be my bride today, she could be used as a tool to get revenge on Vivian!' Spenser turned his gaze toward the restless crowd and sneered, "Selina, you also want to be my bride, right? Well, then, I will announce in front of everyone that you, Selina, are going to be my bride today!"

"No! Spenser, you got it all wrong. To tell you the truth, I..."

Selina felt so anxious and wanted to explain herself, but before she could say anything more, Spenser suddenly held her hand and announced to everyone, "Everyone, allow me to introduce my bride today, Selina Wang!"

"What?" The crowd was stunned once again, and the people who were arguing just moments ago stopped moving in an instant. With that, they all turned to look at Spenser and Selina who were standing hand in hand in front of them.

Selina wasn't sure how she was supposed to react. All she wanted to do was convince him not to give up on his marriage all because of a little hitch. After all, finding true love wasn't an easy task. Even so, she wasn't expecting Spenser to think that she was here to be his bride!

Hearing this, beads of cold sweat dripped down Vivian's forehead and she turned as pale as a ghost. When Spenser saw the look on her face, he simply sneered coldly. He got a taste of sweet revenge.

The whole world fell into dead silence for a moment. It was as if the air had been sucked away, and everyone present found it so difficult to breathe.

"Spenser, have you lost your mind? How could you do such a thing?" Finally, someone broke the deafening silence that filled the air. It was an elegant woman who said these words. She was Spenser's mother, Alice. Judging from the look on Selina's face, she could tell that she wasn't really expecting to be his bride at all. Alice knew how much he was hurting, but it wouldn't be right to ruin the girl's life because of it.

However, Spenser curled his lip and said, "Why not? I'm the one who's getting married today. Didn't Dad say that I should push through with the wedding? Now, the wedding can continue with her as my bride."

Daniel was fuming with so much anger that every fiber of his being trembled. His son must have been his enemy in his previous life. How dare he use his words against him!

After saying that, Spenser gave Vivian a cold stare. Vivian's face was now as white as snow. Then, he shifted his gaze toward Selina and said, "Selina, I love you! Will you marry me?" Without giving Selina a chance to react, he kissed her in front of everyone!

He pressed his cold lips on Selina's. In that instant, Selina caught a whiff of the faint fragrance coming from his body, which she found so intoxicating. Was she dreaming? The man whom she had secretly loved from afar for three years kissed her in public today!

A minute ago, he didn't even know her name, then all of a sudden, he was proclaiming his love for her. Selina knew full well that he was only doing this to take revenge on Vivian. Meaning to say, she was just a tool he could use.

But, even so, Selina still went along with it. Her heart was pounding loudly on her chest because of Spenser's kiss. This was actually her first kiss! She had given it to the man she had a crush on for three long years. There was probably nothing in this world that could make her feel happier.

This caused the faces of the members of the Ding Family to darken. Realizing that he couldn't do anything about the situation anymore, the attitude of Vivian's father, Victor Ding, turned from guilty to indifferent. He grabbed a hold of his daughter's hand and said, "Let's go!"

"No! I'm not going anywhere! I won't leave this place even if it kills me! Today is supposed to be my wedding day. How can I let her take my place?!" Vivian yelled out as she pointed at Selina, who was still caught in a daze. There was no way she could accept this so easily. How could she lose to a woman who appeared out of the blue? Selina couldn't even hold a candle to Betty and Josie, let alone to Vivian herself, but now this woman was about to take her rightful place!

Victor turned his head and glared at her, then he said, "I told you we're leaving. You have already brought me enough shame today."

"But Dad..." Vivian still had something to say, but she was dragged out of the crowd by Victor.
