Chapter 5 Being Threatened

Hearing the patter of footsteps behind her, Megan knew that she was right.

Rebecca had offended that blonde-haired man, and then she had escaped and left her here.

Megan knew that if she was caught by a man like that, her life would become a living hell.

She and Rebecca had never shared anything close to a sisterhood in the past, but what Rebecca had done tonight really pissed her off.

She kept running, not daring to stop. But before she could even see the gate, she felt someone pulling her back.

"Let me go! I have nothing to do with that!" she yelled.

Megan didn't even dare to imagine what would happen to her if she was caught, so she struggled with all her strength.

"Miss, please calm down and listen to me," said a strange middle-aged man.

His voice sounded nothing like the young men's voices she had heard just now.

Realizing that, Megan slowly calmed down and turned around to face him. She asked warily, "Who are you? I don't know you."

"Miss, don't worry. I'm the manager of the bar. I've called security to stop the men who were chasing you just now," the man said with a smile.

There was no such thing as a free lunch, and Megan knew it well.

Eager to cut him off before he could say anything else, Megan smiled and said, "Thank you very much. The security's job is to ensure the safety of the customers! Very good. I'm leaving now then."

As soon as she finished speaking, she hastily turned around to leave. But the very next second, her collar was grabbed from behind, preventing her from taking so much as a step.

"I won't let those men catch you. But I hope you can do me a favor, Miss," the bar manager said seriously.

"What favor?" Megan asked, gulping.

"Just go in and have a drink with Mr. Yan. Maybe have a little chat with him. I believe that will do, Miss," the bar manager said calmly. But in fact, on the inside, he was extremely anxious at this time. He shivered at the thought of the man who was waiting for him in the room. He just wanted to coax this girl to enter the room so that he could solve the current problem first. He could consider what to do next after that.

Hearing the manager's words, Megan widened her eyes and looked at him in disbelief. "What is this about? Why should I go in and drink with a stranger?"

'Does he think I'm a bar girl?'

"Miss, please go in and have a drink with Mr. Yan. If you leave now, you will be caught by those men." The bar manager gave her a meaningful look. He was good at touching other people's sore spots.

Hearing his words, Megan almost scoffed.

Was she really being threatened by a stranger right now?

Megan found the situation half-amusing, half-infuriating.

"Miss, don't worry. We are running a serious business here, and I won't force you to do anything you don't want to. What I require is only a little favor from you," the bar manager said lightly. "If you refuse, well, I can't force you. But I can't stop those men from..."

"Just a drink?"

Megan interjected, looking at the man in front of her with hatred. This stranger was saying that he wouldn't force her to do anything, but every word that came out of his mouth was a warning.

Hearing her words, the bar manager smiled happily and said, "Of course. I will help you and try my best to let you leave as soon as possible. And, Miss, I hope you won't tell anyone about this little conversation."

"I will do what I'm told if you keep your word," Megan snapped. She knew it was unrealistic to think that she could escape after falling into the hands of those young men, so she wanted to try her best to solve the current problem now.
