Chapter 4 Escape

Megan looked at Rebecca, who was going on a rampage, calmly. Rebecca's words didn't affect her anymore. She was used to it.

Rebecca had never concealed her feelings for Andrew. However, Andrew had always been indifferent to her. And every time he turned her down, she would vent her anger on Megan.

Andrew helped Megan find a job, and she went to the interview today. It was successful, and she could start tomorrow, so she invited Andrew to dinner just now. It was when he sent her back to her apartment that she received a call from her father. He said that Rebecca went to some bar again.

"Megan, stop pretending to be innocent. One day, I will tear off your mask so that Andrew won't be fooled by you anymore. He will dislike you, and he will find out that I'm much better than you. Then he will fall in love with me." Rebecca was immersed in her fantasy.

When the young men sitting next to Rebecca heard that she liked someone else, they got annoyed. One young man with blonde hair stood up and said, "Rebecca, what are you talking about? You are here with us tonight. How can you think of another man?"

Being interrupted from her daydream, Rebecca glared at the young man and said in an unfriendly tone, "Don't listen if you don't like to hear it."

"Well, as long as you don't say such disappointing words." The man put his hand on Rebecca's shoulder. With a wicked smile on his face, he continued, "We have agreed to have a good time tonight."

"It's late. Rebecca has to go home now." Megan stopped the man when she saw that he was taking advantage of Rebecca.

"It's none of your business!" the man snapped. "Why are you nagging like an old lady?" He rolled his eyes at Megan.

'Wait! What did he just call me? An old lady?'

It was the first time that someone called Megan an old lady. How could a young woman who had just graduated from the university accept it?

Megan clenched her fists and kept telling herself to calm down. After a while, she looked at Rebecca and said, "Are you going home or not? If you're not, I'm leaving now. I'll just tell Dad to come here and take you home himself."

She then turned around and started to walk away.

Seeing that Megan was really leaving, Rebecca regretted at once. Actually, she was just in a bad mood so she came here to have a drink. Her father would scold her if she didn't go with Megan.

Thinking of this, she wanted to follow Megan. But the young man wouldn't let her go. He grabbed her arm and said, "Rebecca, the show hasn't begun yet. Where are you going?"

"Let me go. I want to go home,"

Rebecca snapped in a cold tone, looking at the man in front of her indifferently. She had seen a lot of men like him.

But the man refused to let her go and kept pulling her.

She suddenly pushed him with all her strength. When he fell to the floor, she ran away as quickly as she could.

Megan turned around and saw Rebecca running away desperately. Her eyes instinctively looked down to the floor and met the man's angry eyes. She already knew that something was wrong.

Once again, Rebecca ran away after hurting someone. If this man was duplicitous and unreasonable, she would definitely be in trouble.

Megan didn't want to be caught by this man either.

So without hesitation, she ran towards the bar exit.
