Chapter 9 A Perfect Match

One day, when Delilah entered the living room, she found Nathan in there with a woman. She didn't recognize who the newcomer was.

Delilah could practically cut the tension between them with a knife. She figured that Nathan and the woman must have an intimate relationship. The proximity between them was minimal, and Nathan even held her close in his arms.

Seeing this, Delilah's heart dropped. She could feel her eyes well with tears but she did her best to hold it back. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. How could Nathan bring a woman home? She was absolutely heartbroken, but she did her best to conceal the pain.

Delilah slowly walked towards Nathan and the woman. As she moved closer, she finally had a better view of the woman. Delilah admitted that she was absolutely gorgeous-the kind that men would bend over backwards just to have her.

"Hey, you two! So much energy in here. I could hear the laughter as soon as I entered. You should've told me we have a lovely guest, Nathan." Delilah's voice was peppy and light. She had perfectly concealed her affliction with a bright smile.

When Nathan realized Delilah was back, he stiffened a bit. He was visibly uneasy for a moment, but he immediately hid it. He was afraid for a moment that Delilah might think differently, but wasn't this the result he wanted? This should be good news for him.

It would be better if Delilah thought that Nathan and the woman were having intimate relations. Therefore, he stood up, pulled the woman closer to him and wrapped his arms around her shoulders. Nathan glanced at Delilah to see her reaction. Some part of him wanted to see jealousy on her face, but she looked calm. He couldn't read what she was thinking.

"Delilah, you're finally back. I'd like to introduce someone to you," Nathan started as he gently assisted the woman beside him. "This is Sally Pan, my girlfriend."

Sally Pan had no idea who the woman in front of her was, but since Nathan formally introduced her, she donned a sparkling smile and said, "Hello!"

Delilah looked at Sally from head to toe and said nothing else. Obviously, the sudden appearance of a strikingly beautiful woman made Delilah upset. She was acting affectionately towards Nathan. And Nathan didn't even bother evading her sleazy advances. Instead, he even had the audacity to introduce the woman to her. It was obvious that he was only keeping Sally to make her miserable.

After a while, Delilah rolled her eyes at them and said, "I see. Miss Pan is your type huh, Nathan? She's very foxy and mesmerizing. You two are definitely a perfect match!"

There was a hint of mockery in Delilah's words, which sounded so harsh to Nathan, but he wasn't angry at all. He felt that Delilah was being scornful because she didn't like Sally's presence. Was she jealous?

Nathan felt a little relieved that she was acting a little petulant. It meant that some part of her still held feelings for him. Just when he was about to say something, Delilah turned around and went upstairs without even glancing at Nathan and Sally. He could only swallow the words he failed to tell her.

'Is Delilah really upset because of Sally's presence? She's all grown up now, right? Is she jealous because of me?' Nathan mused. He felt the same thing when he saw Delilah with another man. He knew from the back of his mind that he was jealous, but how could he admit it?
