Chapter 4 Lilah, Stop It

Midnight blue deepened over a broad and starlit sky. The Italian crystal chandelier in the living room glistened, coating the room with delicate and mellow light. The atmosphere looked luxurious and bright.

Nathan leaned on the sofa with a stone-cold face. His black suit was as crisp as a new banknote-he looked god-like.

Suddenly, his phone rang. He unhurriedly picked it up and pressed it to his ear. "Speak."

"Sir, we found Miss Delilah drunk in the bar. She was almost..." the man on the other end trailed off, as if choosing the right words to say. "She was almost taken advantage of by some men," he continued. He was obviously hesitant to finish his sentence.

When Nathan heard this, his cold expression turned even darker. "You have thirty minutes to bring her back. If she even gets a little scratch on her, don't even dare show your presence near me."

Nathan didn't even wait for the response on the other end. As soon as he gave his orders, he hung up his phone.

Thirty minutes passed quickly.

Two bodyguards in black brought Delilah's drunken physique into the living room.

When Nathan saw them approach, he stood up from the sofa and took Delilah. He gently held her in his arms and told his bodyguards, "Leave us."

"Yes, sir," the two of them respectfully replied. Once they had settled everything, they turned around and left Nathan and Delilah in the living room.

Nathan frowned as he looked at the woman in his arms. "What the hell were you trying to do? You shouldn't be out drinking in the middle of the night."

"Ha-ha," Delilah slurred. She seemed to recognize Nathan's voice as she smiled coyly. "Is that you, Nay?"

"At least you could still recognize me," Nathan sarcastically remarked.

Delilah curled her lips and lovingly buried her head into his chest. Then, she wrapped her arms around Nathan's waist and cooed, "Of course I know who you are. You are my favorite brother!"

Nathan shook his head helplessly. He really couldn't do anything to her. He bent down, picked her up and brought her upstairs.

Nathan gently laid Delilah on the bed. Just when he was about to go, she immediately sat up, held him close to her, and whispered, "Don't leave me, Nay. Please stay here with me, okay?"

"I could still smell the alcohol from you. Let me get a basin of warm water and wipe your body." Nathan gently tried to squirm away from Delilah's grip.

However, she hugged him even tighter and refused to let him go. She shook her head as she protested, "Noooo... I just want you here."

Nathan knew that it was just the alcohol talking, but he still felt something within him stir. Some part of him hoped that she was being true to herself.

"Stop it, Lilah. You're drunk."

Delilah was dissatisfied. "No, I'm not. I want you. You are not allowed to leave me."

'What a torture!' Nathan sighed inwardly.

"Fine, I'm staying here. But can you lie down and sleep first?" Nathan tried to gently coax her.

Delilah looked up at Nathan and nodded, "Yes, but I want you to sleep with me."

She was very difficult to deal with. Every time she was in her drunken stupor, she would also make a fuss. Nathan couldn't do anything else but let her do whatever she wanted. "Just lie down and do as I tell you, okay? I promise I won't go anywhere."

Delilah giggled and lay down on the bed. She looked at Nathan who was standing on the foot of the bed. "Come closer, Nay. Rest with me."

Nathan felt reluctant indulging Delilah with her wishes. However, he was left with no other choice but to comply.
