Chapter 7 THE OLD WOLF'S REQUEST

A day passed and Rachel still had not made a decision about her exile. Meanwhile, Alex's body had been buried in the most expensive cemetery in the Cikarang area.

That afternoon, Rehan forbade Rachel from leaving the house, and the area around Rehan's house was heavily guarded by members of the Black Wolf and police officers who were not wearing police uniforms.

Rehan decided to have lunch with his daughter at home, and Budi Budiman also joined the family meal.

"My dear daughter, you must leave this country by tonight at the latest. Remember, we have performed a sacred ritual and made a promise-you must not break your promise, Rachel!" Rehan said, wiping his mouth with a white cloth.

"Alright, Father. I won't break the oath and promise I've made. I hope that after 10 months, Father will also keep your promise if you can't resolve this issue." Rachel answered Rehan's question while finishing the water in her glass.

"When have I ever lied to you, my daughter?" Rehan asked with a satisfied smile upon hearing his daughter's answer.

"You've lied to me many times! Like when Mum left and returned to Japan. You told me Mum was just going to the shop for a moment." Rachel snorted angrily.

Budi Budiman, who heard Rachel's answer, spit out the water he was drinking onto Rehan's face.

"Forgive me, my brother!" Budi Budiman said, holding back his laughter as he watched Rehan's expression.

Rehan could only open his mouth in shock as his beloved daughter continued to discuss an event from 16 years ago.

"Damn you, Budi Budiman! You're happy at my expense!" Rehan said, wiping his face, which had been splashed with water by the man named Budi Budiman.

"Forgive me, Rehan! I truly didn't mean to spit that water!" Budi apologised, but his face showed no sign of regret.

"I had to do that, my daughter, because at that time you were still very young, and I could only give that reason to calm you down!" Rehan said, taking a deep breath.

"I have forgiven Father for everything, but I am reminding Father that Father once lied to me and did not always keep his promises!" Rachel said, staring at her father's face.

"Then what do you want, Rachel?" Rehan asked in a resigned tone.

"I will follow your wish to leave this country for 10 months, but I will choose the location. Remember, Father, you promised that after 10 months, if you couldn't resolve this issue, I would handle it with my own hands!" Rachel said, clenching her fists.

"Hey, Father promised, remember!" Rehan showed his pinky finger to Rachel.

Rachel then smiled contentedly and nodded her head.

"Where will you go to escape for ten months?" Rehan asked Rachel.

"I want to go to Japan!" Rachel answered while drinking her juice.

"Japan?" Rehan asked in disbelief.

"Yes, Dad, I want to go to Japan and see my mother's face or maybe her grave! I hope Dad will grant my selfish request!" Rachel smiled meaningfully at her father after expressing her desire.

"But my daughter, Dad doesn't have any colleagues or connections in Japan. I'm worried something might happen to you there. Because the Japanese Yakuza are crazier than the mafia or gangsters in Indonesia, my child!" Rehan looked very worried about his daughter's trip to Japan.

"My brother Rehan, sorry to interrupt your conversation with your daughter. Do you remember Nakamura, the Japanese man we helped seven years ago?" Budi Budiman asked Rehan.

"Nakamura, the hitman who killed one of the leaders of the largest political party in Indonesia?" Rehan replied, raising his eyebrows.

"Yes!" Budi Budiman smiled as Rehan remembered him.

"Can he help and guarantee Rachel's safety while she's in Japan?" Rehan looked at his brother with hope and asked for an explanation.

"I think so! Because three days ago, I communicated with Nakamura, and he told me that he is now a Yakuza leader for a city in Japan. Although the city is not a major one, Hanaeda is very close to Tokyo. Nakamura now has over five hundred subordinates and plays a significant role in smuggling animals and rare goods through the port." Budi Budiman explained to Rehan and Rachel.

"Thank you, Uncle Budi. Hanaeda isn't too far from Tokyo. According to the rumours I've heard, my mother, Kurenai, is currently in Tokyo and is a respected female Yakuza there!" Rachel replied excitedly, hugging Budi Budiman.

'All right, my daughter, I will send you to Japan. Do what you want to do, but remember, my daughter, you are Indonesian and my pride and joy.' Rehan smiled as he looked at his daughter's face, which looked very happy as she was about to leave for Japan.

There was a fear within Rehan that Rachel might meet Kurenai, her biological mother. Rachel might decide to stay with Kurenai in Japan and never return to Indonesia.

Besides Rachel and Budi, Rehan had no one else, as his entire life had been dedicated to developing Serigala Hitam as it was today. Thus, Rehan had never experienced what was actually very easy for a stable and powerful man like him to obtain-a wife waiting for him at home after a day of activities outside.

Rehan chose not to marry again and focused solely on his daughter and Serigala Hitam. Those two things were the entirety of Rehan's life, symbolising his struggles and happiness.

"I understand, Father! No matter what, you will always be the father I am proud of, even though you can be so annoying sometimes!" Rachel said as she kissed her father's cheek, then went to her room to prepare everything she needed for her time in Japan.

"Budi Budiman, help me talk to Nakamura! Because he can't speak Indonesian or English. And I can't speak Japanese. You're the only one who can be my trusted translator with Nakamura." Rehan said with a shy smile.

"Don't worry, my brother, Budi Budiman is always here for you!" Budi replied, patting his chest.

Budi Budiman then immediately sent a short message in Japanese stating that he wanted to call Nakamura. At that moment, the clock in Jakarta showed 12:18 PM, while in Japan it was only 2:18 PM. There was a two-hour time difference between Japan and Indonesia.

Ten minutes later, Budi received a call from Nakamura, and the two of them had a conversation over the phone using Japanese.

Call on

"Moshi..Moshi!"

"Hello Nakamura!"

"How are you, Mr. Budi Budiman?"

"I'm fine, how are you and your business, Nakamura?"

"Everything is running normally as usual. How is Mr. Rehan in Jakarta? Is everything okay?"

"Ah, coincidentally, Rehan is right next to me, and he's the reason why I wanted to call you, Nakamura."

"Are you both okay? Do you both need a hitman to eliminate your rivals? Tell me who the target is? I'll gladly order my men to kill them."

"Hahaha, we do have a little problem, but let Rehan explain it in Indonesian and I'll translate. Do you mind if I put this call on speakerphone, Nakamura?"

"I don't mind at all! You two are my saviours!"

"Hi Nakamura, it's me, Rehan!"

"Yes, Mr. Rehan, it's nice to hear your voice, like a living parent. Hahaha, what can I do for you, Mr. Rehan?"

"Damn you, Nakamura! You and Budi Budiman have the same weird sense of humour!"

"Hahaha... maybe that's why Mr. Budi Budiman chose to save me and bring me to Mr. Rehan's house and hide me for six whole months."

"Hahaha, maybe! Rehan, do you remember my little daughter Rachel?"

"Oh yes, the little martial arts genius and sword expert! Of course I remember her because she was the only little girl who became my student while I was in hiding. What's wrong with my little girl?"

'He is accused of murdering one of my business rivals. I want to hide him in Japan for a while. Jakarta and Bekasi will become an uncontrollable battlefield. I only have one little daughter. I hope you can protect her and help her while she is in Japan.'

"Mr. Rehan, there's no need to worry. I already consider Rachel as my own student and daughter! I will protect her as I would my own child!"

"Thank you, Nakamura, but for her safety, don't put her in a hotel and don't bring her to live with you. I want to avoid her being spotted by spies who might follow her all the way to Japan!"

"Is the situation in Indonesia that dire, and do you need my Yakuza to eliminate one or two groups that are your enemies?"

"Leave the matters in Indonesia to me, Nakamura! I will ask for your help if it is necessary. However, I sincerely hope you can protect my daughter while she is in Japan."

"Alright, Mr. Rehan. Though I doubt you'll ask my hired killers to eliminate your enemies, one thing I can assure you is that Rachel won't be harmed as long as I'm alive."

"Thank you, Nakamura."

"No need to be so formal, Mr. Rehan. You and Mr. Budi Budiman are my brothers, so there's no need for formalities. When will Rachel fly to Japan?"

"I've booked her flight for tonight, departing at 9 PM."

"9 PM, huh? Since the journey from Jakarta to Japan takes 16 hours and 42 minutes, Rachel will arrive tomorrow afternoon around 1 PM. I'll have my men pick her up at Haneda Airport at 1 PM."

"Thank you, Nakamura, for your help!"

"Whenever you need my assistance, I'm ready to dispatch 30 professional assassins to eliminate your enemies, Mr. Rehan!"

"I'll remember and note your kind offer, Nakamura! Until next time!"

"Until next time, Mr. Rehan. May you and Mr. Budi Budiman win this war!"

Call Off

"Are you sure my brother doesn't want to use Nakamura's offer to eliminate the rats bothering us? Or do you want us to party like we did in our youth?" asked Budi Budiman while smoking his cigarette.

Rehan didn't answer Budi Budiman's question, he just smiled meaningfully at his fellow comrade.
