Chapter 5 MURDER

Rehan, who saw his daughter fighting and being attacked by five men but still managing to injure two of her attackers, smiled proudly.

However, he was still faced with a difficult decision. Everything that happened here could either be forgotten or trigger a feud between these two gangsters, turning them into sworn enemies.

"Enough! Stop!" Rehan shouted, then drank the wine glass with a toothpick in it.

Alex, who witnessed this, smiled contentedly and said, "Stop fighting, or I'll cut off the hand of anyone still holding a sharp weapon!" Alex declared loudly while standing up.

The battle between the two sides finally ceased, and more members of The Beast were injured than those of the Black Wolves.

Although Rachel was annoyed by her father's decision to use the toothpick to clean his teeth, she still adhered to the gangster code of ethics. Without rules, gangsters would appear more despicable than animals.

Both sides dropped the weapons they were holding, and only Rachel sheathed her red sword.

Rudi's face now bore a new mark from his brief fight with Rachel. Though Rudi was furious, he still obeyed Alex's orders, as Alex was the leader of The Beast.

"Your face looks more handsome with the mark I just carved on your right cheek!" Rachel deliberately mocked Rudi and walked away, leaving him behind.

"One day, I will avenge this!" Rudi growled angrily.

Rachel ignored Rudi, quickly standing beside her father and glaring angrily at Alex because the club Alex had taken was Rachel's club and the site of the altercation between her and The Beast members.

Although Rachel was angry that the Black Wolf's territory had shrunk, she remained silent, glaring with hatred at Alex and Rudi.

Although Rehan appeared to be backing down here, from the brief confrontation, it could be said that Rehan was deliberately showing his teeth and wanted to make it clear he was ready to fight if The Beast demanded more.

Because, in terms of casualties, The Beast's side had far more injured and disabled members.

"Tomorrow I'll have my lawyer handle everything, Rehan!" Alex said as he walked out of the chaotic room.

"I'll gladly sign the ownership transfer, Alex. A small nightclub is worth the scar on your deputy's face. Hahahaha!" Rehan laughed mockingly at Rudi.

"You bastard! You old fool..." Rudi flew into a rage again when mocked by Rehan.

"Enough, Rudi! I am still the legitimate leader of The Beast organisation, and I have already accepted Rehan's apology. Unless you want to rebel and challenge me openly?" Alex said, glaring at Rudi.

"I'm sorry, Chairman, I got carried away! I will follow the Chairman's orders!" Rudi said, lowering his head.

"Good! Take care of our injured members immediately!" Alex said as he walked out of the room, which was now in shambles.

"Yes, Chairman!" Rudi replied.

Finally, the tense day passed, and the next day, Rehan kept his promise to hand over ownership of a nightclub in the Bekasi area, which borders The Beast's territory.

Sony and Rudi, after receiving intensive care for three days in the hospital, finally recovered.

Sony could now walk normally, but he had lost one ear, while Rudi had a large scar on the right side of his face from Rachel's sword strike.

A week had passed since the battle. That afternoon, Alex, after inspecting the nightclub he had seized from Rehan, decided to get a haircut at his regular barber shop in the Black Wolf territory.

The entire Bekasi city area is under the control of Rachel, Rehan's daughter, who is nicknamed the War Goddess of Black Wolf. This is because the Bekasi area is always plagued by horizontal conflicts and is constantly contested by The Beast.

Because Bekasi City is the gateway to Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and any gangster who controls the capital is considered powerful. Like the Black Wolves, who have controlled Jakarta and its surroundings for over 25 years.

"Ujang, I want to get my hair cut as usual!" said Alex, who was already seated in his regular barber's chair.

"Ok Bos!" replied Ujang.

Without hesitation, Ujang began shaving Alex at his workplace. Before they knew it, nearly 20 minutes had passed, and Alex, as usual, had fallen asleep during the shave.

Besides Alex, no other customers were allowed inside, as the entrance was guarded by Sony's two henchmen and Sony himself.

"You two, keep an eye on this place properly. I need to buy cigarettes at Indomaret!" Sony ordered his two henchmen.

"Ready, boss!" the two replied.

Shortly after Sony entered an Indomaret near Ujang's barbershop, a woman with long hair, wearing a hat, medical mask, and black gloves, sneaked into Ujang's barbershop. The two of Sony's men who were on guard were choked and stabbed in the neck by the woman.

Both of them couldn't scream because their necks had been stabbed, leaving a large hole in their necks. The woman's movements were swift and agile. The two of Sony's men who had died were placed in a position as if they were sleeping while sitting.

Ujang, who was preparing the razor to shave Alex's beard, was choked from behind by the woman. She placed her finger over her lips.

Ujang pretended not to see and turned his back, and shortly after that, the woman slit Alex's throat.

"Grook....grook.....!" The sound of Alex's labored breathing could be heard before he finally died with his throat slit.

The woman quickly left Ujang's barbershop, and just as she was leaving, Sony was heading toward the barbershop. Sony caught a glimpse of the woman exiting the barbershop where Alex was getting his hair cut.

Sony hurriedly sped up his pace toward Ujang's barbershop.

"What the hell is this?" Sony exclaimed upon seeing his two colleagues dead with large wounds on their necks.

After seeing the bodies of his two subordinates, Sony immediately ran into Ujang's barbershop.

"CHIEF....!" Sony shouted in frustration upon finding Alex dead with a slash wound on his neck.

Sony immediately called Rudy via phone, but Rudy did not answer. Panicking, Sony began sending SMS messages to the Elders of The Beast about Alex's death and described seeing a long-haired woman leaving Alex's regular barbershop.

The Elders and members of The Beast suspected that the one who killed Alex was Rachel, the daughter of the Black Wolf Leader.

#One day after Alex's death.

After Alex's body was buried at the most expensive cemetery in the Cikarang area, named Sandiego Hill, the Elders of The Beast and a young man, who was Alex's eldest son, gathered at Alex's family's funeral home.

"I will not let my father's spirit rest in peace, and I will seek revenge for my father's murder by Rachel, the daughter of the Black Wolf leader!" said Noah, Alex's eldest son.

"Yes, we must seek revenge for Alex's death!" said one of the Elders of The Beast.

"I agree with Noah's words; we must seek revenge for the death of Chief Alex. Blood must be paid with blood! I apologise to you, Noah, and the Elders and Deputy Chief of The Beast, because at the time of the incident, I was buying cigarettes at an Indomaret located not far from where Chief Alex was getting his hair cut," shouted Sony, clenching his fists.

'It's okay, Sony. I don't blame or hate you. You are loyal to my father, and you and Deputy Chairman Rudi have often shed blood for my father,' said Noah, staring blankly at the photo of his late father.

"Thank you, Noah, for forgiving me for my carelessness while escorting Chairman Alex. However, The Beast now needs a new chairman to lead the organisation and wage war against the Black Wolves." Sony said enthusiastically.

"Yes, Sony, you're right! I agree with Sony; we must elect a new chairman!" said one of the Elders.

"We must hold an election and summon the Elders who are currently unable to attend because they are carrying out organisational tasks assigned by Chairman Alex!" said another Elder.

"I agree with all the Elders; we must hold an election for a new chairman to continue leading The Beast!" said Rudi, puffing on his cigarette and touching the prominent scar on the right side of his face.

"Why do we need to hold an election? Hasn't Father always entrusted important matters to his deputy, Uncle Rudi? And thanks to Uncle Rudi, The Beast's territory has expanded, and we now control most of the key areas in Bekasi District!" Noah said, gazing at the Elders present at the funeral home.

"Noah, you have no right to interfere in The Beast's affairs because you are not a member of The Beast!" Noah's mother scolded her eldest son for meddling in The Beast's affairs.

"It's okay, Madam! I think the Elders present won't object to that, and we all understand that Noah spoke like that for the sake of The Beast's progress and because of his youthful spirit that can't accept his father's death!" Rudi defended Noah while looking at each of the Elders present.

"Yes, I agree with Noah and Vice Chairman Rudi! I feel we don't need to waste time holding an election for a new Chairman. What if we appoint and officially declare Vice Chairman Rudi as the new Chairman!" Sony said loudly.

"I agree!" said one of the Elders.

"Agreed!" replied another Elder.

"I agree with Sony!"

"Me too!"

"Me too!"

Finally, the Elders gathered at Alex's family's funeral home unanimously decided to elect and appoint Rudi as the new Chairman of The Beast.

"I am deeply grateful to the Elders present who have chosen me as the new leader of The Beast. I swear to avenge the murder of Alex, who was brutally killed by Rachel, the daughter of the Black Wolf Leader." Rudi said, patting Noah on the shoulder and looking at the Elders present.

Cheers erupted at Alex's family's funeral home when Rudi was elected as the new leader of The Beast. The Elders and members of The Beast present there seemed to forget that there was still a family mourning and grieving the loss of their husband and father in that house.

Rudi gave a signal to the Elders and members of The Beast to stop cheering at Alex's funeral home.

"We will hold a small ceremony a week after we mourn the death of our leader who brought The Beast this far. For the next week, I ask the Elders not to make any moves against the Black Wolves. I don't want to experience another humiliating defeat like that time!" Rudi ordered the Elders and members of The Beast.

The Elders and members of The Beast eventually felt ashamed for having cheered at Alex's family's funeral home.

On this day, the gang founded by Alex and led by Rudi, known as The Beast, officially appointed Rudi as the new leader of The Beast. The current goal of The Beast is to avenge Alex's death and seize the territory of the Black Wolves.
