Chapter 7 INTENTION CHAPTER 7

As Kemi was about cleaning the floor she stylishly whispered something into Adeolu's right ear

" relax " she said as she got down to clean the little spill of water on the floor

Adeolu was shunned at Kemi words, how does she want him to relax with what she was doing to him

Yemi who was busy eating his food like a hungry lion, pursed alittle and stared at Adeolu, his eyes told a story, it was as if he knew what was happening, this made Adeolu more uncomfortable

" Thank you Ma, the food was so delicious, but am filled now " Adeolu said trying to excuse himself

" but you have not eaten up to half of your food " Mrs Tunde said worryingly

" I Know MA but I'm filled up " Adeolu said robbing his stomach

" are you sure? or don't you like the food ?" Mrs Tunde said still not convinced

" I love the food, don't worry MA, I will finish it later, I drank Garri this evening so it's still in my stomach, let me cover the food I will eat it later " Adeolu said

True he did take a little Garri that evening, but it has long digested in his stomach , Adeolu was really hungry but he had to leave the table and food because of Kemi. He closed the food with a plate cover and went to his room still very much hungry, praying that Mrs Tunde do not trash the food in the bin thinking he wasn't interested in it anymore

Kemi wasn't happy that Adeolu left, she folded her arms angrily for a while before Mrs Tunde screamed at her to eat her food, as she wondered what was wrong with her...

Mr Tunde continued his boring story, even though he knew no one seemed interested in hearing it while Yemi smiled as he ate his food, occasionally he had glanced at Kemi's direction and she was frowning although as she ate her food .....

Later that night

Adeolu woke up from his sleep screaming very loud, which made Mr Tunde and his family ran to his room.

He was having another episode of his nightmares and this time it was even more worse than the previous ones he had dreamt, there was much blood everywhere this time and it looked even more real, in his previous dreams he didn't see what killed the couple in the driving seat but this time around he saw a black figure who pulled the trigger and killed the couple in the car

He could hear everything, he could feel there pains it felt so real, but what scared him the most was that the black figure turned and faced him with a gun pointing at him, Adeolu felt he was about to die.

The man in black must be death Adeolu thought. Maybe his time to die have reached, but who were the couple he always see in his dream, Adeolu thought as he shakes in fear at one corner of his bed crying

As Mr Tunde and his family rushed into Adeolu room they met him crying, they were really surprised and shocked on meeting him at that state and m they started asking him different questions

" what's wrong "

" what happened to you "

" are you alright "

" was it a nightmare "

Adeolu couldn't say anything, he thought this dreams had stopped, for a while he hadn't dreamt of them but it's like it's back, he didn't know what to say to Mr Tunde and his family, they all look genuinely concerned about him, how will they feel if he tells them it's just a dream that made him screamed so loud that it woke them up from there sleep, and everywhere seems to be dark so he was guessing it was still very early in the morning

" what is it " Mrs Tunde said holding Adeolu " stop crying and talk to us, we are very worried about you " she said to Adeolu cleaning the tears from his eyes with her hands

The rest of the family just watched as they asked each other what could have been the problem

After a while Adeolu told them what happened to him and surprisingly they were not angry or mad at him, they all gave there different opinion and suggestions on what the constant nightmare was

Mrs Tunde said it was a spiritual matter, and needed to be tackled spiritually while Mr Tunde said its because of stress, maybe Adeolu had read too much and have stressed his brain so much that's why he was having those nightmares.

Yemi didn't have anything to say he just looked and occasionally smiled at Adeolu, he most be confused or weird out. But Kemi had something intelligible to say

" I think both of your ideas are making sense but, I don't think the dreams are a result of stress because he said he has been having the same kind of dream since he could remember. And I don't think it's spiritual, not everything is spiritual you know " she said looking at her mom " but what if it is your past memories, maybe memories of your family " Kemi said looking at Adeolu

" but__ it can't be Mr Femi said, he saw me on the road, that my parent abandoned me when I was born, so I don't think I could remember anything at that age " Adeolu said doubting himself

" can you really believe what that man says to you, I am sure he is lying to you, and I think what you are seeing in your dreams is part of your memory that you are subconsciously trying to remember, it most be part of your horrible past and at that time it was better for you to forget it, but now your mind wants you to remember it " she said so convincingly

Adeolu admitted she had a valid point, his dreams do look very real

" so if I may ask, how do you know all of this? " Adeolu asked wanting an answer

"..... Well I once saw it in a movie " Kemi said shyly

Everyone laughed a little

" I was wondering when you grow this smart, so you are giving advice base on what you watched from a movie? " Yemi said mockingly to his sister

" but she does have a point, it could be your past memory, I mean I was surprised when Mr Femi told me he saw a baby on the road and took him because he felt pity for him, that does not sound like something Mr Femi will do. But I didn't want to question him further. So that can actually be your past memory Adeolu " Mr Femi said tapping his hand on his daughter shoulder, like to say good job

" so in the movie you watched, what was the advice giving to the person facing similar problem as Adeolu " Mrs Tunde said looking at her daughter for answers

" well if I can remember correctly ....the doctor told the patient, he should not try to fight the dream, he should just go with the flow " Kemi said looking at everyone's face, which they had a look like GO ON

" so let me get you straight, you are telling me the solution is to continue dreaming, No I can't..I mean it's too scary " Adeolu said nodding his head in disapproval to what Kemi said

" trust me that's the only way, and you don't have anything to be scared of, it's just a dream or memory, nothing that happens there can't harm you in real life, or don't you want to see who your parents are? " Kemi said

" of course I want to see there faces .... But if they are my parents why where they murdered? "

Adeolu question coursed a moment of silence in the room, no one knows what to say but everyone was thinking the same thing , did Mr Femi have anything to do with Adeolu parent death, but no one said anything out loud.

" we should leave Adeolu, he needs to get some rest " Mr Tunde finally spoke out

Everyone left Adeolu, as he sat on his bed to think, he could no longer sleep

Can Kemi be right, are those my memories? Were my parents Murderer? Who was responsible for there death? Why did Mr Femi lied to me that he found me by the side of the road? All this questions just came to Adeolu's head and he needed an answer to them.....

Later that Afternoon Adeolu was sitting with Yemi and Kemi in the sitting room watching a cartoon on cartoon Network, REGULAR SHOW, at first Adeolu was skeptical about watching cartoons as he view them as kid stuff but as he watched them he grew to love it

Adeolu laughed hard to every funny thing the characters of the cartoon did especially that of " Rigbe " it seems he was enjoying It more than Yemi and Kemi

" ...... So funny " Adeolu said laughing

Kemi and Yemi looked at each other and wondered was it not the same Adeolu who was crying early this morning.....

Just then Mr Tunde entered into the sitting room smiling

" How are you doing Adeolu, I have a great news for you " he said looking at Adeolu to maybe guess what it was

Adeolu just starred at him, nothing came to his mind

" They have approved your request, and you will be writing the scholarship exams next week " Mr Tunde said excitedly almost too excited as if he knew Adeolu will pass the scholarship exams

Adeolu was happy he had been chosen but fear gripped him as he realized he might write it and not pass, he didn't want to disappoint Mr Tunde, who always call him a genius

" what is it, you don't look that excited " Mr Tunde asked looking worried

" I'm very excited " Adeolu reassured him. faking a smile

" thats better we will be going to the school tomorrow, because they will like to do a physical and mental test on the students ....."

What will happen next
