Chapter 5 INTENTION CHAPTER 5

Adeolu turned only to see Mr Tunde daughter kemi staring at him with much admiration

kemi happens to be the second child of Mr Tunde, she is dark and slim, Adeolu always thought she looked more like those runway models he sometimes sees on TV when he had the little chance to steal a glance at the TV...

" please don't stop, I don't mean to startle you " she said still staring at him with this look as if she was in the presence of a celebrity

" I'm sorry, I should be getting back to work now " Adeolu said standing up

" please sit down, I don't think there is any work left to do" she pleaded

" alright, I will "

" you have such a lovely voice, I was about getting a shower when I heard your voice from my room, it was like the voice of an angel " she said

Adeolu became shy almost blushing he is not use to being around girls, and the last girl he talked to Linda didn't end well for him...

" Thanks for the compliment " Adeolu said avoiding any eyes contact with kemi

" but how come all the times you came to our house, I have never heard you sing? " she asked

" well I guess am just really happy today "

" so continue singing I want to hear your sweet more, please please it sounds better than Justin Bieber's " she said as she sat down close to Adeolu giving him the puppy eyes

Adeolu couldn't possibly say no to those lovely eyes

" alright I will " he said with a big smile

He sang a song and this time around he maintained eye contact with her, they both stared into each other eyes, although Adeolu occasionally removed his gaze at her kemi kept hers fixed on him all through the......

" that was lovely, I always love this song, but you have made me love it even more, gosh you should be a musician definitely a musician " she said

" you Think so?"

" Yes, am sure about that, so have you have anything to eat? " she asked

" No I haven't yet " Adeolu said happy she asked because he was hungry

" alright let me go make something, for you because you have earned it " she said smiling

As kemi went to the kitchen to prepare something for him, Adeolu couldn't stop wondering if kemi likes him or is she just being nice, she really is pretty, he admitted but he doesn't want to get into any trouble with her father Mr Tunde. He has been so nice to him, and he don't think he would be pleased if he sees him with his daughter

Adeolu decided it's best he becomes more careful around Kemi

I most not like her, and she most not like me either. Who am I kidding he said to himself, how can she even like a slave like me. I have no mother nor father, I have nothing to offer

Moments later Kemi came back with two plate of noodles with big chicken wings on both plates

" Food is ready " she said drawing his attention to the dinning table

" this for you and this is for me " she said pointing to the plate that has the largest noodles and chicken as Adeolu's own

Adeolu swallowed in anticipation he couldn't wait to sink his teeth into meal....

Mr Tunde had gone out with his wife for a wedding ceremony, so it was only Adeolu and Mr Tunde two children Yemi and Kemi that was at home

Yemi have been in his room since morning but when he smelled the sweet aroma coming from the sitting room, he quickly ran out from his room

" Kemi, where is my own food " he ordered

" I didn't remain any for you, I only made food for I and Adeolu " kemi said

" what, why now? Don't you know I haven't eaten since morning? "

" how can I know that you haven't eaten, you locked yourself up in your room since morning " Kemi said knowing that will anger Yemi

Adeolu just stayed and watched how both siblings had a go at each other

" don't worry " 1-0 " I will definitely do my own back " Yemi said as he went to the kitchen

Kemi just laughed out loud

" what's funny, am not kidding I was dreaming how I will eat the food that I was smelling since, but you didn't cook for me but you remember to cook for Adeolu, it's like someone is falling in love " Yemi said jokingly

This made Kemi chase Yemi angrily but Adeolu could see the pretence behind her anger. she was already brushing. even Adeolu himself became embarrassed at what Yemi said ...

After chasing his brother round the sitting room without being able to get hold of him kemi went back and sat down to continue with her food but there awkwardness, as she and Adeolu ate there food without saying a word until Yemi broke the silence

" Adeolu, after eating your food, follow me let's go to my room and play some video games " Yemi said given Adeolu a friendly punch on the arm

Adeolu had never played video games before but he was eager to learn how to.

" really, video games? I don't know to play it " Adeolu said

" that is good it means you will stay here with me__ I mean not with me but.. by yourself but I will be here with you __ not that it matters if you go but... " Kemi just kept confusing herself

Adeolu knew she wanted him to stay with her but he really did want to learn how to play video games. It will be fun he said to himself

" don't mind my sister, I can teach you how to play it in no time, I'm really great at video games " Yemi said

" really that would be great " Adeolu said excited

" whatever " Kemi said angrily as she stood up and walked out of the dinner table.

Adeolu was too excited about holding a game pad for the first time in his life he wasn't bother that Kemi was acting up, this even further made Kemi mad...

" very good but first let me quickly make something to eat I'm starving " Yemi said....

After more than an hour of being totally humiliated by Yemi in PlayStation 4, with crazy scores like 12-0, 10 -0. 11-1 etc in FIFA 19. The one goal Adeolu manage to score was an own goal. But finally Adeolu was beginning to get the hang of the game and he and Yemi were actually playing 2-2 with some minutes still to play and Adeolu thinks he just might actually win this one...

Kemi rushed open Yemi door, which distracted Yemi and made Adeolu score the winning goal

" yessss goal am winning this one " Adeolu said with a big smile

" No ooo, it's because of Kemi, that goal does not count "

" who told you to get distracted? Definitely not me so my friend I'm leading you, let's continue " he said really excited as if he was going to collect a medal after that game

" Kemi see what you have course now, this guy will be bragging now that he won me, me the champion " Yemi said almost crying

" Ayah... Sorry for that, but I did not come here to watch you cry over a game " kemi said laughing a little

" good so leave now!!! " Yemi said pointing to the door

" like seriously __ I don't want to be here self, I only came to take Adeolu " she said looking at Adeolu

Coughing " take me? " Adeolu repeated what Kemi said, to be sure he heard her right

" Yes .... I'm sorry but I'm having issues finding answers to my maths assignment, I really need your assistance " she said giving Adeolu the pity eyes

" why are you disturbing us can't you see we are busy here " Yemi lamented

" you call sitting down, playing dump video games, Busy?... Then my brother, you got to recheck your priorities " Kemi said and quickly faced Adeolu, like to say what are you still doing sitting down

Things were heating up and Adeolu didn't want any problem, he has learnt during his time in Mr Femi house, that's it's better for a girl to like you, than for her to hate you, because if they hate you, you yourself will surely hate yourself

" alright I'm coming with you, just let me finish this game, it's in 86 minute already " Adeolu said

" why now, you want to go with her because she is girl " Abi " don't let the two big things in her front control you oh " Yemi said, trying to make Adeolu stay

" my God Yemi I can't believe you just said that " Kemi exclaimed really embarrassed

Adeolu covered his face with his hands this Yemi can sometimes say the most stupidest of things and he actually is eldest among three of us here, he should try to behave more maturely

Adeolu stood up and left with Kemi to help her with her maths problem without even finishing the game...

on seeing the Maths questions Adeolu was disappointed. it was a very simple maths equations and he knew Kemi could solve this on her own, she just wanted him to be here with her, and Adeolu was really enjoying the game with her brother

Adeolu didn't say anything as he also played along with Kemi, he helped her explaining things he knew she knows already....

" alright I can go now " Adeolu said, trying to leave

" please don't go " Kemi pleaded

" why? We are done with your maths assignment " he said

".......because I need you to help me with physics " Kemi said trying to sound convincing

" really physics " Adeolu pretend to be angry

" ....No actually, I just want you to be here with me... I actually made up the maths issue " Kemi said

" yeah I know that already "

" really.. What gave me away course I always thought I was a good actress " Kemi said sounding surprised

" for one, I have seen you solve this kind of equations before " Adeolu said smiling

Kemi laughed at her foolishness and Adeolu also joined her in laughing

" well.... But why did you stay if you knew I was only pretending " Kemi said

" course I enjoy your company and I didn't want you to start making a tantrum " Adeolu said smiling

" Really " Kemi said shying away

" yeah is not everyday someone gets to sit with a beautiful girl like you "

The both stared at each other and for a moment there, there lips was touching distance away from impact..... Until Yemi walking into the sitting room coughing

" I got to use the bathroom " Kemi said as she walked passed her brother Yemi who was smiling knowing he had just spoiled the show for his little sis

" Adeolu you have to be careful with my sister " Yemi said to Adeolu after Kemi walked out the sitting room

" I don't know what you are saying " Adeolu said pretending to be busy with something inside the book

" I saw you guys almost kissed " Yemi said hitting his hand on the dinning table to get Adeolu attention

" you saw wrong " Adeolu said looking at Yemi

Laughing " really... OK I'm not a kid and I think know what I saw, of course I know it's a normal thing for a guy to feel attracted to a girl__ and I guess my sister is kind of attractive, yuck I can't believe I said that " Yemi said that word attractive as if he was swallowing something bitter " I personally don't have a problem if you two like each other, but I got to warn you if you still want to be in good terms with my dad better stay as far away as possible from my sister " Yemi warned then turned to walk away

" what do you mean by that " Adeolu said with fear in his voice

" simply put, my Dad don't like boys coming close to Kemi " Yemi said as he walked away

Adeolu just stood at the sitting room talking to himself
