Chapter 4 The Musician and the CEO

Hannah Stevens' POV

"What do you mean by that, my life is yours?" I am quite at a mess of stringed emotions right now. First off, I was surprised at him suddenly agreeing to brief me on the job description without a single argument. And then the demands of this position is insane. Beyond office hour work? How long does he need me for?

Mr. Park looks at me, already sensing the question I have in mind. "Simple as it is, your life will be mine the moment you start becoming my manager. I am a very busy man Ms. Stevens. This is merely the part of me being a musician. I haven't even told you yet your duties as my personal assistant when I do my CEO duties."

I look at him dumbfounded. CEO? What does he even mean by that? He must have seen the bewilderment in my eyes and he continues.

"Have you done no research in the company you applied for Ms. Stevens?" He asks me with a stern gaze. Though I can hear a faint sound of amusement in his voice.

"I have certainly done my research Mr. Park. You were not mentioned as the CEO. Mr. Wayne Park was the one mentioned as the CEO, not you."

"Ah yes, my twin brother. Fraternal. He is part CEO as well. The front man. We two lead the company. He knows that I am more focused on my music career while he is more focused on the family business. But behind the scenes, I pull the strings with him. He takes my decisions seriously regarding the company matters. And to that extent, I need you to be my personal secretary as well. Did you not ever wonder why they paid a hefty sum of price just for simply being a talent manager?" He asks me as if I am a child who have not understood why math needs numbers.

I blinked at him, partly amazed at his position and his musical career that fly high both at the same time, and partly annoyed at him treating me like I was supposed to have known this from the start. The knowledge of him being part CEO of Park Industries and Entertainment was certainly not a public knowledge. How was I to know that. But he had a point about the salary offered to me as marketing manager, well, talent manager. Aka personal assistant, aka personal secretary, aka life dedicated to him. I had thought that it was merely a marketing manager position I have applied and well, the salary was way higher than my previous one but knowing the reputation of this company having hefty salary and amazing benefits made me think the given amount to me was merely a standard salary they gave to marketing managers. But now, everything feels so different. Things have spiraled out of control. I was merely about to be a marketing manager that they manipulated to be a talent manager for a year before getting the actual position. And now this man tells me that I am also to be his personal assistant and secretary for his music and CEO career.

He sees the confusion in my eyes and he asks me. "So, Ms. Stevens. Do you want to quit now?"

His question pulled me back to reality and I tell him, "No Sir, I will not quit. If you want my life then it is yours. But remember, I handle your schedules starting next week. And I am very capable when it comes to time management." I smile confidently at him. He may have wanted my life, but I control his time. And that is something I can manipulate to my liking.
