I feel so wrongly accused. I am the marketing head of my previous company, DreamVisions. It might be merely second to Park Industries and Entertainment company when it comes to toplining brands, but it was no simple feat to stay as the marketing head and to keep the company up and running smoothly. My previous team would attest to my competence there. I can handle difficult clients and reverse any tight spots that come our way to take dealings that would lift the company up.
And now, this arrogant, boastful jerk is telling me that I am incompetent just because I asked him what he needed? Sure, i should know my job description but the thing is, this isn't what I even applied for.
And for him to say that I wanted this job, especially after I have heard earlier from the ladies restroom that he was the most difficult talent that any manager could have handled while they made fun of me getting scammed into accepting the position, I wanted to get him into his place right from the start. Yes I need this job but what the actual fudge, I would not stoop this low for something that their HR team had manipulated and this beast of a man degrading me.
"Listen up, Mr. Park. I will only say this once." I start, looking at him with determined eyes. "First off, I did not apply for this position, nor did I want this. I applied for marketing manager and not talent manager. But somehow, the HR team in this prestigious company scammed me into accepting this deal of putting up with your ass for a year before they can give me the position I actually wanted."
I stopped to breathe and can sense something shift in him, but his expression remained unreadable, looking at me with those icy bluish grey eyes.
"Secondly," I continue. "I am new to the entertainment indurstry. I had been given no briefing at all as to what you require of me to do. I am not incompetent when it comes to the job I actually applied for but since I am here now, I am kindly asking for one quick briefing from you. Only one." He started to open his mouth to probably say something but I shush him with one finger right away. "Nah-uh, I am not done yet." I bravely tell him. If he were to fire me right now, I want to give him my whole piece.
"Now, if you have given me this briefing and explained properly what this job entails, and I still asked questions, I could accept you telling me that I am incompetent even a bit. But you haven't even given me any chance. Yes you may have thought that I applied to be your manager but reality check, if HR needs to scam a person to be your manager, then maybe no one else wanted to be your manager at all. You may have expected anyone in this position to know the ropes already but would it really hurt to give even just one briefing to at least have a leverage and familiarity on how things work around here? Every company and every artist work differently. Nobody should already know what you want and then expect them to be expert at it right away. Especially one that did not apply for it."
His experession remained unchanged but I can see his jaws clenching and his fingers steeple on the desk.
"Now, I need this job, and you certainly need a manager. We can either cooperate peacefully for now and you'd give me one good briefing of what you needed me to do, or you could fire me and I'd wish you the very best of luck in finding a new manager and someone else to put up with your attitude because this would really blow up the internet soon enough how the famous idol Simon Park is an actual asshole and not a sweetheart he pretends to be for his fans."
