Chapter 5 The Unraveling Truth.

Chapter 0It wasn't true that Diana was taking another year of study. No! She had decided to stay in the United Kingdom so that her child, Regina, could grow and reach the age of one year and three months. This age was the legal requirement in the UK before a child could be taken to special child care institutions. That was the decision she and President Daniel had reached! Diana would not return to Bentaz with Regina because she had nothing to tell her husband. Regina would be left at the St. Louis Child Caring Institute, located inside St.

Louis General Hospital in the heart of London, to be raised there!

The President would cover all the costs of the child's care at the institute, and it was planned that once she grew up, she would continue her studies in the UK. They absolutely did not want Damian to see the child, and during that time, Diana and President Daniel were deeply in love. Diana's love for Damian had greatly diminished. In her mind at that time, only President Daniel existed.

After one year, Regina was already one year and three months old. She was a healthy and well-behaved child! Diana shed tears the day they handed over their child to Sister Agrippina, the head of the St. Louis Child Caring Institute, an institution where parents who didn't want to stay with their children for various reasons sent them to be raised.

"We are paying you 20,000 pounds in advance. The rest of the payment will be made next month!" said President Daniel.

That evening, Diana called Damian to tell him she was expecting to board a flight the next day back to Bentaz and asked him to pick her up at Miami airport. What Damian noticed in that phone call was that Diana was crying.

"Why are you crying?"

"No, I just have a cold!"

"So, what time will you arrive here tomorrow?"

"At 1:00 PM!"

President Daniel did not take the same flight as Diana to avoid any unpleasant emotions. He had to board a flight to Washington, where he stayed for two days before taking another flight back home.

The next evening, Damian was one of the people at Miami airport, waiting for their relatives who were arriving from the UK. He was eagerly looking forward to seeing his wife after not laying eyes on her for almost four years! His heart was pounding fast as he watched the passengers coming out of the airport, one after the other.

Suddenly, he realized he saw his wife slowly pushing a luggage trolley outside the airport. He was shocked at how much weight she had gained! Damian couldn't hold back. Out of joy, he found himself shouting loudly!

"DIANA, MY WIFE, I AM HERE!"

Diana turned to look at Damian, but instead of showing the joy he had expected, she froze and gave a very small smile!

Damian rushed to her and hugged her, but Diana stood still! This surprised him even more. Another thing that surprised him about his wife's body was her breasts! they had grown much larger. Despite the weight gain, there was something else that stunned him.

"What's going on, my love, why are your breasts like this?" Derrick couldn't hold back and found himself asking right there at the airport.

"I mean, if I didn't know you, I would definitely think you had given birth or are breastfeeding a one-year-old child!"

Diana was shocked and wondered if the paparazzi had already told Damian about her child, Regina, but she brushed it off as though she hadn't heard what her husband was saying. Damian didn't stop there; he continued to press, astonished by Diana's reaction. She didn't seem happy at all, even though they had been reunited after many years.

"Hey! Don't you have another topic to discuss? The only thing you can talk about is my breasts? Leave my breasts alone, I have told you that I gained weight, that's all, what else do you expect me to say!"

For the first time in his life, and since Damian had known Diana, it was that day he heard her respond to him with disrespect and arrogance! Damian couldn't believe his ears. He felt like maybe he hadn't heard correctly and found himself asking again for the second time.

"What are you saying?"

"I said don't concentrate too much on my breasts ,if you have nothing else to talk about, just shut up!"

Damian was taken aback by Diana's response. He couldn't understand what had happened to her in the UK that had made her so arrogant. Damian found himself struggling to drive and had to pull over to the side of the road.

"Diana, tell me, what have you learned in the UK that would make you answer me like this? Aren't you happy that we're reunited after such a long time?"

"Just drive!, if you can't, tell me and I'll get out, take a taxi, and go home first!"

"It's not like that, my wife. I'm surprised you've never answered me like this before!"

"Oya! Let's go, na!"

Damian started the car again and got back on the road as they continued their journey home. It didn't take long before they arrived home. Damian stepped out of the car, walked around to the other side, and opened the door for Diana.

"Welcome home, my wife! I missed you so much,"

Damian said, and Diana stepped out with a very British posture, standing outside.

'Are you crazy?' Diana thought to herself as she looked at Damian in the face.

She felt sorry for him, knowing what was coming soon, starting from that day. She knew it would hurt Damian, but there was nothing she could do. Her mind had already been taken over by President Daniel, and her love for Damian had faded from her heart. The truth was, she had already experienced a different kind of life that Damian could never provide her with again!

That night, they slept peacefully, chatting and exchanging thoughts on various matters. Diana's breasts continued to raise many questions in Damian's mind, but he didn't want to ask again. He realized that those questions irritated his wife. 'Let's just leave it, maybe my wife doesn't like how her body gained weight' he thought. Both of them fell asleep and woke up at 6:30 AM in the morning, disturbed by a phone call that had been ringing for a long time. Damian got up and went to answer it.

"Hello, who is this?"

"My name is David, I'm speaking from Washington. I would like to speak with Mrs. Daniel!"

"Mrs. Daniel?"

"Yes. So, what number is this?"

"This is 1-270-222141510!"

"That's the one. Isn't there a woman who came from England?"

"Yes!"

"That's the one I want to speak with!"

"But that's not Mrs. Daniel, it's Mrs. Damian!"

"It doesn't matter whose Mrs she is, whatever, just give me the phone so I can talk to her!"

This left Damian very confused, and he ended up putting the phone down and going straight to the bedroom to inform Diana that the call was for her!

"Listen to your phone, darling!"

"Who else knows I'm here?" Diana said as she stood up and walked to where the phone was. She picked it up and started speaking.

"Yes, it's me!.....he left today? And what time will he arrive?......Tomorrow at six?......so, he passed through Mogadishu?......I'll try to be at the airport to meet him... thank you very much, what is your name again?......ah, Kelvin!......okay, thank you and goodbye!" Diana finished talking on the phone and returned to the bedroom where she found Damian crying.

"Why are you crying?"

"I'm so hurt to hear you are called Mrs. Daniel. Who is this Daniel?"

"Are you crying because of that? It's nothing, just a name that people used to call me when I was in England. It started being used when we did a play called 'Don't Tell the Husband!' Since then, many people started calling me Mrs. Daniel!" Diana lied. Diana's cunning had already reached another level. She was no longer the same Diana who cried whenever she told a lie. She had changed a lot, and the desire for fame had taken over her heart.

"Is it true, my wife?"

"That's how it is, don't worry. Damian, don't act like a child!"

"And who is coming?"

"He's one of my friends I studied with in England. He's an American coming to visit me here!" she continued to lie, knowing very well that the person coming was President Daniel from America.

"I'll accompany you to the airport tomorrow, so that I won't be worried about, who you are meeting."

"Why should we go together? What does my friend have to do with you? Everyone has their freedom, I don't want to go with you everywhere, we'll look like students."

"What did you just say?"

"Didn't you hear me?"

"Diana, you've changed so much, your behavior is not good, you have no manners, I regret marrying a girl from the village!"

"What!?"

"Didn't you hear me!"

A big argument broke out the next night, causing the neighbors to wake up and come to mediate. Damian was found with a gun in his hand. He had made up his mind to kill his wife.

"Leave me to kill her, she's ungrateful. Why are doing this to me?, disrespect because of what? Because you studied in England? Without me, you wouldn't even know about England!"

"Hey! Release me, there are many men with positions and power who wish to be with me. If you can't live with me, give me a divorce and I'll leave."

The argument intensified, and after some time, the neighbors managed to quiet them down, and they slept until morning.

Early in the morning, after brushing her teeth, Diana left without even preparing breakfast for her husband. She didn't return until around five in the evening.

Damian recalled the conversation he had overheard on the phone the previous day; his wife was supposed to receive a guest at the airport at Six evening. He quickly started his car and headed to the airport because he wanted to meet and get to know this guest of his wife.

On the way, there was a long line of cars, which made him late. Traffic police were everywhere, signaling that a high-ranking official was passing by. The vehicles were instructed to stop at exactly 6:10 PM.

Suddenly, he saw the presidential convoy passing by! And that's when the name Daniel started to make sense in his mind. As he continued to connect the dots, Damian couldn't believe his eyes. His heart skipped a beat! He didn't want to believe what he was witnessing at that moment.
