Chapter 5 Moonlit Revelations

Lyra's eyes never left the werewolf's face as Kael interrogated him. Thorne's orders. The words echoed in her mind like a death sentence. She knew that Thorne would stop at nothing to destroy her pack. As they finally managed to extract some useful information from the werewolf, Lyra felt a strange sensation wash over her. The moon was full overhead, casting an silver glow over the forest. She could feel its power calling to her, drawing her in. Kael's voice cut through the haze. "Lyra, we need to get moving." She nodded, shaking off the strange feeling.

As they made their way back through the forest, Lyra couldn't shake the sense that something was off. The trees seemed to loom over her, casting long, ominous shadows on the ground. Suddenly, Kael stopped in his tracks. "Do you hear that?" he whispered. Lyra's ears perked up, and she listened intently. A low, rumbling growl echoed through the forest, making her hackles rise. "What is it?" she whispered back. Kael's eyes gleamed in the moonlight. "I think it's a guardian." Lyra's heart skipped a beat. Guardians were ancient, powerful beings tasked with protecting the supernatural community. What was one doing here? As they watched, a massive, shadowy form emerged from the trees. Lyra's breath caught in her throat as the guardian's eyes locked onto hers. For a moment, they simply stared at each other. Then, in a voice that rumbled like thunder, the guardian spoke. "Lyra, daughter of the moon, you have been chosen." Chosen? Chosen for what? Lyra's mind reeled with questions as the guardian's words hung in the air like a challenge.
