Chapter 33 The Lost City

/ 1

Lyra stood beside the waterfall, her heart heavy with emotion. What had Kael meant by his mysterious words? And why had he disappeared into the night, leaving her alone and confused? As she stood there, trying to make sense of it all, Lyra heard a faint rustling in the underbrush. She turned, her senses on high alert, and that was when she saw him - a figure emerging from the shadows, his eyes fixed intently on hers. It was Arin, her brother. And he looked like he'd been running for his life. "Lyra," he panted, his chest heaving with exertion.
"I've been searching everywhere for you." Lyra's heart skipped a beat. "What's wrong?" she asked, her voice tight with concern. Arin's eyes darted nervously around the clearing. "It's Thorne," he whispered. "He's planning something big. Something that could destroy our entire pack." Lyra's instincts went on high alert. She knew that Thorne would stop at nothing to achieve his goals. As she stood there, trying to process the implications, Lyra realized that she had a choice to make. She could run, hiding from the danger that lurked in every shadow. Or she could stand and fight, using every ounce of strength and cunning she possessed. And then there was Kael. Where did he fit into all of this? Was he friend or foe? As Lyra stood there, weighing her options, she knew that she couldn't do it alone. She needed Kael's help, no matter how much of a mystery he was. "Arin," she said finally, her voice firm. "I need you to find Kael. We have to talk." Arin's eyes narrowed. "You trust him?" he asked, his voice skeptical. Lyra hesitated, unsure of how to answer. Did she trust Kael? She didn't know. But she did know one thing - she needed him.
