Chapter 10 Into the Lion's Den

The city glittered below them, a sprawling maze of glass and steel as Ethan and Sienna perched on the rooftop across from Langley's corporate headquarters. The building was a monolith of wealth and power-sixty stories of tinted windows and armed security.

Ethan adjusted the earpiece Sienna had handed him. "You're insane."

Sienna smirked, crouching beside him as she pulled a small tablet from her bag. "You knew that before you married me."

"And before you divorced me," he muttered.

She shot him a look but didn't take the bait. Instead, she tapped the screen, pulling up the building's security feeds. "Langley's office is on the top floor. Keycard access only, with facial recognition at the entrance."

Ethan frowned. "Let me guess. You have a plan?"

She grinned. "Of course."

Sienna reached into her bag and pulled out two security badges. Ethan took one, flipping it over. Langley Industries. Employee access.

"Where did you get these?" he asked.

Sienna slid hers into her pocket. "Let's just say Langley's head of cybersecurity has a very expensive gambling problem."

Ethan smirked. "You always did have a way of finding leverage."

She shrugged. "I learned from the best."

Ethan rolled his shoulders. "Alright. So we walk in, act like we belong, and hope no one looks too closely at the badges?"

"Not quite." Sienna pulled out a small spray bottle.

Ethan arched a brow. "Pepper spray?"

She shook her head. "Synthetic facial polymer. It temporarily alters our features just enough to fool the scanners."

Ethan stared at her. "You've really been preparing for this."

Her smirk faded slightly. "I've been waiting for this moment for three years."

Ethan didn't press further. Instead, he grabbed the bottle, applied the spray as instructed, and took a deep breath.

"You ready?" Sienna asked.

Ethan glanced across the street at the towering skyscraper that housed the man who had ripped their lives apart.

He exhaled.

"Let's go."

With that, they descended the fire escape, vanishing into the shadows.
