Chapter 5 5.Family Meeting

Hans looked at Vanessa casually and replied,

"Well, you just say that you had a miscarriage! Simple right? But do that after we get married first!" he continued quickly.

Vanessa's face scrunched up, she was confused by the species of man in front of her. And she was also confused, how someone like Hans could be a famous businessman and have the nickname 'cold-handed man' because whatever business he built must be successful.

But the advice Hans gave her was ridiculous and impossible to take for granted.

One of the first reason is that Vanessa is not used to lying, the second one is that this lie will really make her very deceitful, how could she call herself miscarried? How weird is that?

"Sir, that's not the concept either. One, lying is not good! Secondly, let alone calling yourself miscarried." Vanessa tried to advise her boss, with good value to him.

"Then, you want to have sex with me to be able to have a child, without lying?" Hans asked in a flat tone. Hans looked intensely at his secretary and future contract wife, expecting a direct answer from the woman.

Vanessa's mouth dropped open like a goldfish out of water. She couldn't answer Hans' question, but she also couldn't take back her words that had agreed to Hans' wish to marry her, even if it was just a contract marriage. If he canceled the contract, then the fine would be too heavy for him to pay.

"If that's what you want, then we can do it tonight." Hans continued, leaving Vanessa shaking her head and waving her hand as a sign that she refused any kind of relationship before her position was actually tied down in marriage with Hans.

Moreover, Vanessa thought that she had been married to James for two years but she still couldn't give him children.

Whether she can get pregnant or not? That still needs to be checked further by a pregnancy specialist.

Furthermore she also married not for love, can she do her duty as a wife? But, remembering the betrayal of her ex-husband, made her resolve to serve Hans, as long as the man could get her a divorce and stay away from James and Vera.

"Uh uh ... I'm not officially divorced and we're not officially married, so we can't have sex yet." she said while waving her hand.

"Besides, it's not that easy to get pregnant right away."

"Don't worry, I have a specialist doctor who will be able to give me a guarantee that you can get pregnant as soon as possible."

Hans slightly raised his lips, he felt Vanessa was a unique woman, she was funny and her statement was too honest and true. Hans likes this type of woman.

For him, Vanessa can comfort him and she was just the way she was, not like other women. Vanessa really appeared as she was and not because she wanted to attract his attention.

It was a good thing Hans had anticipated by making Vanessa sign a marriage contract with him, because later that afternoon, her mother invited her to attend the their family meeting. The family meeting was attended by his father and mother, his brother and sister-in-law, and his nephew.

And of course the family meeting was held at a fancy restaurant that had a private room, where the food could only be ordered far in advance.

But this is the Anderson family so they have the privilege of booking the place, every time they want. The Anderson family even owns shares in the expensive restaurant.

Hans Anderson, who received a text message from his mother, immediately looked at his secretary who was outside working. Using the intercom on his desk, he signaled Vanessa to come inside.

"Sir, you called for me?"

"Could you please not call me 'Sir'? And please if you can be a little spoiled, so that my family will be convinced that you are really my lover."

Vanessa was again confused when she heard the order from her boss.

"Then what should I call you?" asked Vanessa with some confusion but before she could say what to call her boss, he suddenly said,

"Honey, Sweetie, anything! But I'll call you 'Sweetie'." The affectionate nickname expressed by Hans was very flat according to Vanessa. There was no feeling in it. Even his expression was flat. Her boss was really a bad actor.

"Oh okay! Then I will also call you with the same nickname."

"Then let's learn first so it won't be awkward when we call each other baby! Later in the afternoon you come with me to the XXX restaurant, honey!"

"Alright, baby!" It felt like the expression of 'baby' mentioned by Vanessa was much more heartfelt, compared to what Hans said, the woman had more expression, unlike Hans who was just flat when using the word 'baby'.

"Okay then, let's go to the boutique first so you can buy the right clothes, and then also get a makeover on the spot."

"Alright, baby!"

"At 05.00 exactly we will be leaving right away, so you better get your work done first, baby!"

Vanessa was confused, was this an order or was it just training. But if it was training, why was her boss's tone of voice so serious.

"Boss, what does it mean that I have to get my work done now and at 5am we actually go out to the boutique and that super expensive restaurant?"

"Remember to use the word 'dear' or baby, honey, not boss, sir or mister."

"It's serious, boss... uh dear?"

"Yes, as I expected, my mother immediately called a closed-door meeting. Between the two of us, my mom and dad, my brother and sister-in-law."

"What? Oh my God... I'm nervous, boss! What if I'm rejected, boss?" Vanessa was aware of her situation, there was no way someone as wealthy as the Anderson family would accept her, who was an orphan and didn't even know who her parents were. So she was afraid of rejection.

"Honey! You should settle on that nickname, Vanessa!" Hans did not care about what Vanessa was worried about, he was more concerned about consistent affectionate calls.

"Ouch... I'm really afraid of the boss, eh dear! I'm afraid of rejection."

"Are you really in love with me? You're like a lover who's afraid that her lover's parents won't approve of their relationship. " Hans looked at Vanessa with a sharp gaze. So, Vanessa thought, why was she worried?

"He he he, well, ok boss ... eh dear!"

"You should call me 'DEAR' consistently. That's enough, everything else, leave it to me." Hans immediately sent the woman back outside to pack up her things.

"Ok boss!"
