Chapter 5 THE CONSPIRACY

As Clara went to the master bedroom unknown to her Liam was there, as she picked up her phone, she was surprised to see Liam lying stupidly on the bed as he was drunk already.

Alex followed her closely as she entered the room and immediately jammed the door and locked it outside.

As Clara was about to leave she discovered that the door was jammed "What the fuck is wrong with this door?" She asked confused

So after many tries for her to open the door without success she decided to sleep in the room and lay at the other end of the bed.

Alex being skillful in video editing had edited the footage and deleted the original one.

The next morning, Liam awoke with a pounding headache, his memories of the previous night hazy at best. As he tried to piece together what had happened, the door to the guest room burst open and Alex strode in, a triumphant smirk on his face.

"Well, well, look who's finally decided to join us," Alex drawled, tossing a phone tablet in Liam's direction.

Liam caught the device, his brow furrowing as he glanced at the screen. To his horror, it displayed a video of him lying on the bed, While Clara was on top of him, it was obvious they were having sex in the video.

"What is this?" "How come?" Liam demanded, his voice shaking. Just then he realised that Clara was over the other end of the bed with him.

"Whaaat? what are you doing here young lady" He queried with fear in his eyes

"I don't know how she came here and I didn't touch your sister, this video is fake" Liam protested

"What does it look like?" Alex sneered. "It's proof of your little tryst with my sister. I must say, Liam, I didn't peg you for the type to take advantage of a young woman."

"Stop it Alex, what is the meaning of this?" Clara demanded, her gaze darting between Liam and Alex. As she shifts closer to take a look on the footage.

Liam's heart sank as the realization dawned on him. "No, this isn't what it seems. Alex, you did this, didn't you?" "Because I could remember that you brought me into this room and... just then he remembered that he was actually drunk the previous night.

Before Alex could respond, the door swung open, and Michael strode in, his expression stern. "What's going on here?"

Alex quickly composed himself, turning to his father with a solemn expression. "Father, I'm afraid I have some disturbing news. I caught Liam in a... sleeping with Clara last night here is the cctv footage Dad, Liam was drunk and in a state of drunkenness had slept with Clara." Alex responded while handing over the phone to his Dad.

Michael's gaze shifted to Liam, his brow furrowed. "Is this true, Liam? I trusted you and is this how you acknowledge my hospitality?"

Liam opened his mouth to protest, but the weight of the damning video evidence felt like a lead weight in his hands. "Mr. Anderson, I swear, I would never-"

"Save it," Michael interrupted, his voice laced with disappointment. while giving Liam five dirty slaps "The proof is right here. I'm afraid I have no choice but to ask you to leave ."

Liam's heart sank as he watched Michael turn to Alex, nodding in silent approval. "Alex, make the necessary arrangements. I want this taken care of immediately."

Michael Was so furious, his expression stern. "Clara, I'm so disappointed and ashamed of you. How could you bring such a shame to this prestigious family why Clara?," Then gestured toward Liam, "You will surely regret this young man."

Clara's eyes widened in shock. "What? That's impossible! I would never-" She suddenly paused, her eyes falling to their state of undress, she then remembered how she came in to collect her phone and the door was unable to open the previous night. "How did this happen?" she asked a bit confused,

Liam shook his head vehemently. "I swear, Clara, I have no idea. I don't remember anything from last night, and I would never do something like this. Your brother, Alex, he-"

Clara tried to defend herself knowing fully that this was a set up, she checked herself, there was no semen in her but all her efforts to convince her dad proved abortive.

"Enough," Michael interrupted, raising a hand. "The evidence is clear. I'm deeply disappointed in both of you."

Clara's features contorted with a mixture of disbelief and outrage as tears roll down her cheeks. "Father, you can't seriously believe this! I would never do something like this, and I certainly don't remember anything happening."

Alex stepped forward, his expression feigning concern. "Father, I'm afraid the situation is even more dire than you realize. The video footage clearly shows Liam taking advantage of Clara's trust."

Liam felt his blood boil at Alex's blatant lies. "That's not true! Alex must have doctored the footage or something. Please, you have to believe me!"

Michael's gaze hardened as he considered the evidence before him. "I want to believe you, Liam, but the facts are undeniable. I'm sorry, but I have no choice but to tell you to marry Clara. As you are the one who disvirgined her so bear the cost and if you decide to play smart, I will surely find you and make you pay heavily now get out of my house."

Clara's eyes pleaded with her father, but Michael's resolve seemed unshakable. Liam felt his heart sink as the realization dawned on him – he was being unjustly accused, and now forced to marry who he had never met before in his life and there was nothing he could do to stop it.

As Liam was escorted out of the Anderson mansion, his mind raced, searching for a way to prove his innocence. He knew that the truth was buried somewhere, and he was determined to uncover it, no matter the cost.
