Debora slowly placed little Arthur's body into his crib.
"Madam...are you okay?" Nita asked cautiously.
Nita had also heard clearly what her boss had shouted earlier.
It was a very painful truth, about how her boss judged his wife.
Victor openly revealed what was in his heart; this forced marriage they were going through was very uncomfortable for Debora's brother-in-law.
They didn't know that Debora also felt uncomfortable marrying her brother-in-law.
With her nephew suddenly losing a mother, Debora reluctantly gave up her comfortable single life to marry her brother-in-law.
"Sob...Madam!" Nita felt sad seeing Debora's flat expression, who seemed quiet, not showing any emotional response.
"I'm okay, Nita!" Debora finally spoke out, responding to Nita's question, who had started crying.
They had just gotten to know each other, between the Employer and the helper, but Nita already showed a sense of familiarity with her.
"Should I get some warm water for you, Madam?" Nita asked.
"No need!" Debora replied, "I will go back to my room; let me know when Arthur wakes up!"
"Very well, Madam!"
Debora left her nephew's room and went back to her room.
Earlier, after Debora finished bathing and got her clothes from the walk-in closet, she realized that only her clothes were in the walk-in closet.
Apparently, her brother-in-law had chosen to have a separate room from her and moved to the adjacent room.
Debora locked her room door; she would start locking her room frequently from now on.
After finding out that she was now the sole occupant of the room, Debora threw herself onto her bed and stared at the ceiling.
Once again, she remembered what she had heard earlier, and Victor's words of dislike towards her stirred up Debora's emotions, feeling unappreciated for her sacrifices.
When Debora accepted the decision of her parents and her brother-in-law's parents, she had thought about and considered their feelings.
That's why she accepted this marriage.
But hearing her brother-in-law's shouting earlier, it seemed that he didn't consider the feelings of all their family members.
Debora felt that she had been the only one considering everyone else's feelings.
Alright! Debora thought to herself, she had made a plan to deal with her brother-in-law.
She would do as he said; this way, her parents and his parents would give in to her, leading to their separation.
During lunchtime, it turned out that her brother-in-law didn't leave the Mansion; he was still at home.
Debora didn't care anymore; whether they spent the whole day at home or went out, they didn't need to pay attention to each other.
Debora saw her brother-in-law sitting in his chair, being served by the female servant who had been rude to her that morning.
Debora sat in the chair where she was earlier that morning. She sat at the far end of the table, away from her brother-in-law.
The female servant, who stood not far from where Victor was sitting, approached Debora to serve her as well.
Debora observed the servant's movements, noting how reluctant she seemed to serve her.
Debora had to be patient with the current situation; she had to be strong in facing it.
The servant placed the food in front of Debora and hurried back to her previous position, standing not far from where Victor was seated.
Slowly, Debora started to spoon the food and put it into her mouth.
But as soon as the food touched her tongue, it tasted terrible, very unpleasant.
"Ugh!" Debora spat the food back onto her plate.
Victor, taken aback by Debora's actions, dropped his spoon in surprise.
His face darkened.
