Debora caressed Arthur's cheek gently with her index finger.
"Thank you for taking care of him....!" Debora didn't continue her sentence as she didn't know her nephew's nanny's name.
"Nita, just call me Nita, Madam!" the nanny of her nephew replied.
"Thank you, Nita, for taking care of my son!" Debora said.
"It's my duty, Madam, you don't need to thank me," Nita replied with a smile.
After seeing Arthur, Debora left her nephew's room.
In the dining room, her brother-in-law was already seated, enjoying his breakfast.
"Good morning, dear!" Debora greeted her brother-in-law, who was now her husband.
The man remained silent without responding to Debora's greeting; he continued to eat his breakfast.
Debora pulled a chair at the end of the table, and a female servant came to serve her.
The servant placed Debora's breakfast in front of her.
"Thank you!" Debora said.
The servant remained silent, not responding to Debora's thank-you.
Debora didn't pay any mind to the servant's attitude of not acknowledging her gratitude.
She then proceeded to eat her breakfast, savoring the peculiar taste on her tongue.
It seemed the breakfast she was given had no salt or seasoning.
Debora raised her head, looking at her brother-in-law's servant, who stood not far from her brother-in-law, Victor.
Debora was about to speak, wanting to ask the servant a question, but she decided against it.
If she asked about the bland food, Victor might have a different impression of her.
Considering herself too talkative and demanding, especially since they weren't very close yet.
They were married not out of liking each other, Victor might now think of her as a troublesome woman, solely because of the issue of the unsavory breakfast.
Debora continued to eat her breakfast without complaining.
Debora saw her brother-in-law push his chair back; he seemed to have finished his meal.
The man left the dining room without saying a word to Debora.
"Have you finished your breakfast, Madam?" asked the servant who had served her breakfast, with a slightly harsh and sharp tone.
Debora furrowed her brow, hearing the servant's tone towards her.
There was a sense of unease in Debora's heart as she looked at the female servant.
She felt the servant was being rude to her and seemed to be signaling hostility towards her.
Debora looked at the servant and stared at her sharply.
"You are being rude to me! Can't you see that I haven't even gotten up from my seat yet?" Debora retorted, glaring at the servant.
"I'm sorry, Madam, if I overstepped!" the servant replied, slightly bowing her head apologetically.
"You indeed overstepped! Did you also behave like this towards my late sister when she was alive?" Debora asked sharply.
"No, Madam!" the servant answered, lowering her face.
"Just now, you seemed as if you wanted to drive me away!" Debora retorted sharply.
"No, Madam, I apologize!" the servant said, frozen in place.
Debora pushed away her clean plate; she reluctantly finished her unpleasant breakfast.
Debora had not expected to encounter an unpleasant servant of her brother-in-law in the mansion.
