Chapter 6 Talk to me

It was already time for lunch. Tenah came to call Quinneta for lunch.

"Am I allowed to have lunch in my room?"

She asked.

"I'll bring it here if that's what Your Highness wants." Tenah said.

"It's already time for lunch and His Highness isn't back." Quinneta said.

"Excuse me Your Highness, but His Highness usually come back in the evening most time." Tenah said.

"Just bring lunch." Quinneta felt disapp-ointed. 'I'll just have to wait,' she thought.

Quinneta ate lunch and decided to move around, she dropped the book and left her room. She went to the garden, it was a really beautiful one.

"Wow! So many flowers." Quinneta walked around the garden with Tenah following behind. "I've always wished to have a garden like this since I was young." She said.

"Look at all these beautiful flowers." Quinneta fingered some lightly, taking in the scents.

"You must really like flowers Your Highness," Tenah said.

"I do...a lot." Quinneta plucked one. "I could make new medicines from this one," she said.

Quinneta spent some time in the garden. Tenah drew her attention later.

"His Highness is here." She said.

"Really?" Quinneta held the flowers shehad plucked gently. "I'll go meet him now." She said.

Quinneta walked quickly to meet the Crown

Prince. He was on his way to his personal palace when she got to him.

"Your Highness," Quinneta bowed.

Carrine stared at his...WIFE . She had flowers with her and she was panting a little.

Quinneta noticed His Highness staring at the flowers in her hands.

"Oh! This? I plucked it in the garden,...here, you can have it. I know you might not like flowers, but just accept it as a gift from me...to..you,

I plucked the most beautiful ones." She said and took Carrine's hand. She dropped the flowers in it with others still watching.

Normally, anyone who stared directly at Carrine's eyes would feel scared, but this little lady was staring right at it and was still able to talk much?

Carrine held the flowers in his hands and was ready to leave when Quinneta stopped him. "Wait..." she said and Carrine stopped.

"You've been out since morning, you must be tired, get enough rest Your Highness, if you feel ill, I'm good at making medicines." She said.

Carrine said nothing and just walked away.

He had already entered his palace before Quinneta remembered she still had something to say. She ran to his palace and was about to get in.

"Your Highness wait..." Tenah wanted to say but Quinneta had already gotten in.

HOW ON EARTH DID SHE DO THAT? Tenah asked herself. Everyone in the palace knew that there was a special lock in the palace, it's invisible, but you can't get in if the Crown Prince didn't open it himself.

Carrine and his men turned back to see what had happened. The Crown Princess just unlocked the Crown Prince's lock with ease.

"Your Highness, I still have something to say." she said and ran to him. She held his hands and locked eyes with him.

"I...I just wanted to say that you haven't said anything to me since I came, please... talk to me." She said pleadingly.

Quinneta was still holding on to Carrine's hand and the warmth of her hand was taking over the icy coldness of his hand. It was happening again. "Please.." Quinneta said.

"What do you want me to say?"

Finally, she thought. He said something to her.

Quinneta smiled and stared at his eyes. "I've noticed that the flames in your eyes increases everytime you look at me, I want to know why. You don't have to give me an answer now, I just wanted to say... your eyes are extremely beautiful. And this place is nice too. I'll see you during dinner." She said and left.

For some reasons, Carrine didn't want her to leave yet. Since when did he start to care about someone's presence? He brushed the thought off his mind and walked inside. He sat by his table, dropped the flowers on it and ordered for a flower pot.

Lild brought it almost immediately. He watched as the Crown Prince planted the flowers in the pot, watering it with his powers. This was a new side of the Crown Prince he was seeing.

Quinneta returned back to her room and asked for a new book. She was going to write about everything that had happened.

Soon, it was time for dinner. The family settled at the dinner table. Quinneta walked to the table at the same time with Carrine. Their eyes met, and what had happened moments ago flashed his mind. She had the power to walk through his invisible lock. He was sure she didn't even know there was a lock, because she had walked in with ease. She had the power to cool his hand, her presence enough made his starglow. Yet, she looked really innocent, really fragile, really powerless. It was the first time he was seeing such a person.

Quinneta sat at the table after proper greet-ings, and was prepared to eat. Carrine sat beside her, making her star glow. Was it because he was her husband. She was sure he didn't know about the weirdness she felt when close to him, especially when her heartbeat increased with an extra

'thump'.

"Daughter, how was your first day in the palace, I didn't see you around, it was like you were locked up in your room all day." His Majesty said.

"My first day was great Your Majesty." She replied with a smile.

"Please, call me father." His Majesty said.

"Yes, Father," Quinneta said.

Her majesty glared at Quinneta but no one could notice her.

After dinner, Carrine left for his chambers, without saying 'goodnight' to Quinneta.
