Chapter 5 Married to the Crown Prince

After her family left, Quinneta countenance fell. It dawned on her already, she had come here to her new family. Her old one couldn't be her focus anymore. She was married, finally, at last. And, she was the Crown Princess, everyone knew that now.

A maid came to show Quinneta around.

"Your Highness, I'll be your personal maid, my name is Tenah." The young lady said and bowed.

"I ought to show you around, but it's late now, I'll just show you to your room now. I will be showing you around tomorrow." Tenah explained.

"It's fine," Quinneta said. "Just show me to my room," she added. She was tired, her frail body couldn't take it anymore.

Tenah led the way. Quinneta lifted her dress, following behind her.

"I'll arrange a warm bath for you, Your Highness."

All she wanted was to fall into bed and sleep off. She had never been this tired. Even the dress was weighing her down, she couldn't wait to remove everything she was wearing.

She hadn't even seen the Crown Prince since the wedding was over.

Quinneta entered the room meant for her and Carrine. She undressed, while Tenah prepared the bath. After bathing, she got dressed in her night gown, while Tenah applied her night cream. Quinneta hadn't live the life of a princess before, she had to adapt to the changes.

Finally, Tenah left and Quinneta was left alone. Her mind didn't think of anything than sleep, and, as soon as she lay on the bed, she drifted into sleep.

Meanwhile, the Crown Prince sat in his room, drinking tea and reading a book. He was so relaxed, it was like he had totally forgot that he had a wife already. Well, he wasn't the type to forget such things, it was just that he was the type who wouldn't be bothered by such things.

He had changed from the wedding robe and was dressed for the night. The atmosphere around was cold, just the way he liked it. He concentrated on the book a great deal, not allowing his thoughts wander to something else.

Things had changed just a little bit. He was married now, but that wasn't going to change who he was.

He drank his tea and flipped the page of the book. If it was a normal Prince, he ought to be in bed already, especially because there was much to do the next day. Moreover, it had been a long day and he was supposed to be tired.

Meanwhile, someone was getting mad...

"Aargh!!This is totally unfair."

MARRIED?? The Crown Prince finally got married to someone else. After all she had done?? She had tried so much to be calm about it, but she didn't seem to succeed. It was just not possible.

Annica sat on the bed, the sight of her present situation was an ugly sight to behold, since she had grown her claws and caused a huge damage in the room.

From the start, she had done so much to prevent this from happening, she had done her best to make sure that the Crown Prince didn't get married to someone else. Everything seemed to be working fine when she got engaged to the Crown Prince, but her dreams were suddenly chattered when the Crown Prince broke the engagement. Now, he got married to someone else. She felt heartbroken. What if the Crown Prince liked the person? He would have called off the engagement if he didn't. NO! The Crown Prince couldn't feel such emotions, she knew that. But, she still wished to be the Crown Prince's wife.

She couldn't lose the Crown Prince, especially not to such a weak opponent. The Crown Prince was still hers, and she would get him back.

{Xaxing}

"I don't get it, why her? Of all ladies with strong cultivation base in Valey, you choose a frail one like her?" Queen Starkis didn't seem to like Quinneta.

"Starkis, she's the right person for Carrine," His Majesty said.

"How?"

"She's the only one with the same dragon blood as Carrine."

"She was. She no longer has it."

"Starkis, I know my decision, she's the right person for Carrine. She will be the one to fight shoulder to shoulder with him."

"Her cultivation base is weak, she only make good use of her powers when making medicines," Queen Starkis pointed.

"I don't want to talk about this further, besides, they are married now, you just have to accept her."

{Xaxing}

Quinneta was already dressed for the day. The maids here were quite hardworking. They had woken early and as soon as she woke, they were ready to get her dressed up. Although she had a maid before, Rella. But, she always took her bathe herself. Rella did the cleaning and washing, while they cooked together along with Felina. But, here, the maids bathed her, dressed her up, and styled her hair.

Quinneta looked really pleasing in the baby blue dress, with her hair decorated with silver pins and a matching slipper.

Tenah introduced the other maids.

"This is Arsa and Pel, we are your personal maids," Tenah said.

Quinneta nodded, taking notes of their names.

"It's time for breakfast, after breakfast, I'll show you around the palace." Tenah said.

"Ok."

Quinneta walked out of the room with the maids behind.

Carrine came out of his room with his personal guard, Lild. He was looking majestic in the iron grey robe.

"After breakfast, there's a meeting with Xanty, Prince of Haley." Lild said walking behind the Crown Prince.

At that moment, Quinneta was walking with her maids when she met with the Crown Prince.

"Your Highness," she said and bowed.

The maids also bowed, while Lild bowed to Quinneta.

Carrine stared at Quinneta with his cold eyes, he felt his star again. Why? The flames in his eyes increased.

Quinneta smiled. "I'll see you at the table," she said, took a bow and left.

Carrine continued walking along with Lild, listening to the list of things he had to do.

Quinneta greeted everyone at the table with a bow and took her seat.

Carrine joined them at the table minutes later.

"It's time for the introduction." His Majesty said after everyone was seated.

"Quinneta, this is Camine, your husband's twin, this is Xai and this is Minra, they are the Crown Prince's siblings," His majesty introduced.

"It's nice meeting you." Quinneta said.

"Pleasure is ours." They replied.

After that, they had breakfast in silence.

Carrine ate little and stood up. "I'll leave first, I have work to attend to." He said and left.

Quinneta's gaze followed him till he went out of sight. Why was he like that? He didn't even glance at her. Thinking about it now, she realized that he hadn't even said a word to her.

She was already filled, so she excused herself and went to look for His Highness.

But, she found out that he was already gone. She had to wait till he came back before she could talk to him. She felt somehow disappointed and she walked back to her room. There wasn't anything much for her to do. If it were back at home, she'd besewing, making medicines, studying to strengthen her cultivation base, or chatting with Felina and Rella. She missed them, although, she saw them last the previous day, the thought of not being able to see them for a long time, made her sad.

Tenah came to her and showed her around.

The palace was beautiful with different places, even the Crown Prince had a special place where only him and his men could enter.

Quinneta returned back to the room, after Felina was done showing her around the palace. She wasn't used to seating and doing nothing, so instead she looked around the large and spacious room and thought of what to do. The neatly arranged shelf caught her attention, so she walked towards it. She grabbed a book and decided to read to while away time.

'Round the early table' was written in their language on the back cover of the book.

Such a funny title, Quinneta laughed at the sight of it. She took the book and sat on her bed. 'This would do', she thought. She just had to read this and wait for the Crown Prince to return.

The book was a heavy one, with lots of pages, Quinneta was sure that she wouldn't

be done before the Crown Prince got back.

Annica was dressed for the day, she took the white bracelet and stared at it for a while. This was one of the sacrifices she had made to make sure the Crown Prince was hers, but, it just didn't work. She had done too much already and she couldn't back down now, she just couldn't accept defeat. She wore the bracelet and walked out of the room to meet her Aunt. There were things to do at the center hall in Coxy Bay.
