Chapter 8 Blackmail

Wren clenched her jaw, worry etching her face. "But the divorce papers are already signed. What if that jerk refuses to acknowledge it?"

"Ha-ha!" Torrie laughed mockingly. "Divorce papers? Why didn't I know it?"

With that, she strode to the table and brandished the freshly signed divorce documents.

"That idiot left in such a rush that he forgot to take them. Now I've got both copies."

She then ripped them to shreds and tossed them into the trash can.

Torrie lifted her chin with pride, declaring, "Without the divorce papers, he and your sister remain married!" I'm going to make sure we get every penny from him."

Torrie shredded the documents so quickly, Wren barely had time to process what was happening.

Staring at the remnants, Wren was at a loss for words. "Mom, that was too rash. What if that bastard just happens to come by Billowing Land?"

Torrie's expression soured. Slapping her thigh, she exclaimed, "You should've told me sooner!

It's all that bastard's fault! He got me so mad I can't think straight."

In that instant, Wren's eyes narrowed sharply as she said with a hint of malice, "It's fine. It's only two copies of the divorce papers, right? We can just prepare a new one. Let's make Benjamin hand over all his assets and leave with nothing. If he refuses, we'll force him to agree."

"That sounds like a plan," Torrie replied with a renewed smile. "Let's get moving. We need to be quick!"

They soon outside Billowing Land.

Benjamin had arranged a meeting with Harriet through Saul and was now walking out from his villa.

Suddenly, he was surprised to see Torrie and Wren lurking near the entrance.

They skulked around like sneaky thieves, vigilantly watching the comings and goings of people.

With her keen eyes, Torrie spotted Benjamin emerging from the gate.

"There he is! I knew he lived here."

She quickly grabbed Wren's hand, dashed towards Benjamin, and blocked his path.

Benjamin, caught off guard by their presence, looked at them with a mix of surprise and disdain. He had no desire to interact with them and gave them a fleeting, indifferent glance before attempting to walk past.

"Stop right there!" Torrie shouted.

"What do you want?" Benjamin asked, his voice icy.

"Humph!" Torrie sneered and beckoned Benjamin with a crooked finger. "What else would I do? I'm definitely going to reclaim what you swindled from us."

Benjamin looked puzzled. "What's that?"

With a scornful twist of her lips, Wren snapped, "Keep up the act! We've caught you red-handed, yet you still play dumb. It's disgusting! I'm not wasting any more time on you. Hand over my sister's necklace and the villa's deed now."

"Ha-ha!" Benjamin laughed heartily.

He had no desire to cause a scene. Three years earlier, he had given the Carter family thirty million.

He was surprised by Torrie and Wren's greed, now demanding the necklace and villa as well.

Benjamin's expression turned icy. "No way!"

Wren, not expecting Benjamin to defy her, quickly stepped up and grabbed his hand firmly.

With a fierce glare, she yelled, "You scoundrel and thief! You've mooched off us for three years, and now you try to take our property? Have you no shame? Hand over the house deed and necklace, or you're not leaving."

Meanwhile, Torrie, who had been standing by, suddenly fell to the ground. She rolled around, screaming, "He hit me! He's killing me! My son-in-law has stolen and now he's attacking me! Someone, come judge this! This brute shouldn't be allowed to walk this earth."

Benjamin's fists tightened subtly.

He thought to himself that if these two women weren't related to Rosalie, he might have lost his temper with them.

But he had more important things to handle and didn't want to get involved in their drama any longer.

Wren's arm trembled from the strain, causing a sharp pain in her wrist. She had to release her grip quickly, stumbling backward and landing on the ground with a yell.

"Ow, my back! I think I've broken something. You're going to pay for my injuries!" she screamed.

Benjamin's expression turned stern. He said icily, "Wren, I'm letting you off this time for the sake of the past. But if you try anything like this again, I won't hesitate to call the police."

He turned to leave.

Wren, still on the ground, ignored Benjamin's words completely.

She was determined to get what she wanted today.

Without the necklace and house deed from Benjamin, she quickly grabbed her phone and called for help.

"Scar, get over here!" she shouted.

Just as she hung up, the sound of a roaring engine echoed from the end of the street.

A group of burly men clad in black leather, their chests adorned with tattoos, charged towards them like wild animals breaking free from cages.

Their leader, with a fierce scar running from his eye to his jaw, had a wolf-like gaze.

The onlookers, who were initially swayed by Wren and Torrie's theatrics and had been pointing fingers at Benjamin, now stepped back in alarm, too scared to utter a word.
