Chapter 4 The Last Decent Thing

Rosalie's expression was only slightly displeased when she felt the young man's hand moving on her waist, and she didn't push him away.

Meanwhile, Benjamin's gaze landed on Rosalie's waist, his jaw clenched tight with tension.

He faced the young man with a frosty look and asked, "Who are you?"

Before Rosalie could respond, Torrie moved closer to the young man, her chin held high, a smug look in her eyes as she addressed Benjamin, "You're always cooped up at home, how would you recognize someone important? This is Mr. Andrew Burton. He's the one who secured a two hundred million dollar investment from the Lawson family for Rosalie. Can't you see how insignificant you are now?"

With Torrie's words echoing around him, Andrew, standing beside her, puffed up with pride.

"You're clueless, aren't you? You should know, Rosalie and I had an unforgettable night at the hotel just yesterday," he said, a satisfied grin creeping across his face.

At those words, a wave of fury washed over Benjamin. His eyes blazed with such intensity as if his anger had taken a tangible form.

Unfazed, Torrie continued to provoke Benjamin. Her voice grew louder. "Exactly. My daughter has been with Mr. Burton for quite some time. If you're tired of being betrayed, just sign the divorce papers and leave."

Benjamin ignored Andrew and Torrie, focusing instead on Rosalie, eager for her explanation.

Yet, he was met with disappointment. Rosalie only gave him a cold stare, staying silent.

This silence shattered the last bit of love he had. He forced a bitter smile and said, "Okay, I get it. No wonder you didn't pick up my call last night. I thought you were busy with clients again and worried about your safety. Turns out, you were spending a wonderful night with this man. I guess I don't need to worry about you anymore. From the start to the end, I've been the biggest fool."

Rosalie's eyes briefly showed guilt, but impatience overtook her. She frowned and yelled, "Stop it. Don't talk nonsense here. I don't have time for this drama. You're just trying to make me feel guilty. Your failures aren't my fault. Do you really expect me to feel sorry for you?"

In that moment, Benjamin saw an icy coldness in Rosalie that he had never seen before.

He shook his head and said, "It seems you never really understood me in these three years. Did you know that the two hundred million investment from the Lawson family came through my efforts?"

"Ha-ha!" Andrew couldn't contain his laughter after hearing Benjamin. "You are so good at joking. You, a stay-at-home husband, are talking about two hundred million? Do you even realize how big that number is? You're way out of your league!"

Torrie joined in, shaking her head at Benjamin. "Benjamin Holland, it looks like you can't handle being kicked out of the Carter family, huh? Are you scared out of your wits? Are you thinking two hundred million can be easily earned? How dare you look down upon Mr. Burton? Have you lost your mind?"

Meanwhile, Rosalie frowned even more. She looked at Benjamin, a mix of pity and disdain in her eyes.

"Benjamin, I can't believe how low you've stooped. I regret ever falling for you three years ago. You're so full of yourself! Just so you know, the reason that I can get this investment is not only Mr. Burton's assistance but also that Lawson family sees my worth. I've turned a tiny workshop into a big company worth over a hundred million in these three years. And you? You're just a guy who's good at household chores. You're claiming you secretly helped me? How? By just talking or daydreaming?"

Rosalie's sharp words weighed heavily on Benjamin, leaving him breathless.

Andrew, standing nearby, quickly put on a sympathetic face for Rosalie. He patted her back softly, saying, "Don't waste your anger on someone so unimportant. Let's not spoil our mood over him. We've got important things to discuss. Why not just have this loser sign the divorce papers and be done with it?"

A soft smile played on Rosalie's lips as she looked at Andrew. It was a warmth she never showed Benjamin.

"You're absolutely right, Mr. Burton!"

Then, turning to Benjamin, her gaze turned icy, a stark contrast to moments before.

"Benjamin, consider this divorce agreement the last decent thing I'm doing for you. I don't want a big fuss. We were married for three years, after all. But if you don't sign, I'll take you to court. I'm set on divorcing you."

Benjamin, his face expressionless, just shook his head, weary.

"Don't trouble yourself, Rosalie."

He laid the agreement on the table and signed his name.

With no emotion left in his eyes, he said coldly, "Rosalie, I just hope you don't end up regretting this decision one day."
