Chapter 8 – On the Edge part 1.

The crewmen stirring in pain, the thick coat absorbed part of the blow.

Are they still alive? They look like cockroaches, I'd aim for the head, but I can't afford to miss a shot, he thought. Lying on the snow he kept his fist clenched.

The elongated rock that floated, rises higher, pointing towards the runway. At the edge it arches inward a bit.

This is goodbye, Sebastian thinks resignedly.

The Torrender realizes what he intends, as best he could, with all his might he managed to utter one word... tears falling from his eyes.

"Maaasteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer!" Abigail's voice is heard farther and farther away. The rock descends from a great height, forcibly hits the runway and she is thrown off, spinning on the snow, in the last spin she remains face up. She lies unconscious near the helicopter.

Sebastian, feeling helpless, thinks to himself. Damn, these idiots... wretches.

He clenches his fist tighter and continues thinking. I'll miss you wife... I'll miss you son... I see their faces, they are the light in my life and I will forever love them. Abigail take good care of them for me... even if there are immense powers and the world becomes dark, trust you... little Torrender. Farewell...

The master closes his eyes, rests his open hand on the snow.

The crewmen still stirring in the snow feeling pain, the ground vibrates slightly and suddenly stops shaking.

"What are you trying to do, old man!" Jairo exclaims, standing up with one hand on his stomach, despite the pain he catches his breath.

At this moment a two-meter rock levitates, one of the twelve rocks that indicate the edge of the precipice. The boulder moves away, takes distance and at full speed hurls itself down against the rocky support of the structure.

The crunching of the surface is heard. Sebastian with his power influences the surface, speeding up the process, huge chunks fall into the precipice.

"You're insane!!!" shouted Jairo staggering, he slips falling sideways. He sees the ground tilting into the dark precipice.

The big rock disk dragged by gravity, taking with it the Small house, the crew and Sebastian. Into the deepest depths.

Time; 8:34 pm.

Several hours later, snowing non-stop on a cold night. The snow hides all traces of life.

Abigail covered in snow suddenly stands up. She sits still looking around, sees the white helicopter with the hatches open. Below the aircraft; on the other side she manages to see a mini-transporter with the boxes on top, and nothing else. She doesn't know what happened, but she feels energetic.

What happened to me, I feel like I could eat the world. She thought and then the answer came fleetingly into her head.

One by one she relived the images. The arrival of the helicopter, the five crew members, the energy drink, the white android, the eye and the last time she saw Sebastian.

Looking up she realizes that there is no Small house, there is no structure, there is nothing at the bottom of the steps, she is impressed.

She closes her eye to concentrate, to feel the atmosphere and to distinguish better, but she cannot sense any Torrender.

Tears run down the right side of her face, she sobs, several words come to her mind. You taught me so much... so soon you left... and you won't see me grow... I wanted to be someone's pride... every day I strived... without stopping... every... day....

She bows her head watching the tears being absorbed in the snow and continues to think. Now I'm alone... and I'm missing... one eye...

After a few minutes, the hands resting on the snow mark his fingers clenching into a fist.

No time for tears, she thought. He grabbed his right sleeve and tore it off, grabbed his left sleeve and tore it off too. The white flannel fit her like a poorly designed neckline.

If Dracír is as strong as they say, I have to find him. With that thought she pulls the two ends of the sleeve together making a small knot; making a circular shaped cloth, she puts it on her head.

She invented a patch for the left side of his face. I will leave this place, she thinks, wiping the tears from his face with his hand.

Judging by my energy, the energizer is real. Or rather, everything is real except the crew members, who are they? Thinking, he looks around again, searching for the boxes.

Abigail stands up, walks around the helicopter and looks closely at the boxes.

That miserable Jairo said they snuck in to live here. These boxes may be safe. Abigail thinks, counts the boxes; three small boxes are on top of the medium boxes, and there are fifteen boxes of the other size.

At random she picks one of the small boxes. This must be it too, she thinks. She uncovers the box and confirms that they are drinks. She holds up a bottle, checking the label one more time, it reads energizer.

Well, it must be the same, luckily another white android won't show up, she thinks wryly. She uncorks the bottle and takes a sip.

"It's strange... it tastes like apple," she says looking at the bottle again, it's similar to the bottle Jairo gave her. She puts the bottle back in the box.

She doesn't feel anything strange apart from the energizing sensation.

It the strawberry flavor, it has the paralyzing effect, she thinks.

She takes two small boxes and puts them in the helicopter, and also puts eight medium-sized boxes in the helicopter. Well, that's enough to get me to Zasorial, she thought.

Torrender enters the helicopter, closes the hatches and sits in the cockpit.

"Step one, ready, step two, fly away from here!" She looks up and down looking for the power button, but doesn't know which one it is.

"This is harder than I thought, I don't understand anything," she says.

"This is my only transportation and I just had to fly away," she thought. She considers another plan, putting a hand to his head.
