Chapter 6 Concealed Confession

"Oh yeah, Amelia has a mom, and you're not lonely," Anna said. "Lonely?" Harry asked with a smile; he felt there was nothing wrong with him; he didn't feel lonely at all; it was customary for him. But then the man's voice became serious when talking about Amelia; Amelia was his top priority; he would not marry a woman who could not love Amelia sincerely.

Anna told Harry Anna's hopes he would find a great partner soon to complete his family. But the man chuckled and replied, "Don't worry about me, Anna. What about yourself?" He pointed out that Anna was still single despite being 25 years old, which was plenty old enough for a woman to marry. Anna's grandmother also wanted her to marry soon. "Do you not feel lonely? Don't you wish you had an entire household?" Harry asked, smiling.

Anna responded, "I don't care about you, but I do care about Amelia." Anna didn't want to see her adorable friend unhappy because she lacked a mother's love.

But Harry thought Anna's friendship with a child was unusual. Anna quickly defended that friendship knows no bounds and can exist between anyone, including older individuals, children, animals, and even supernatural entities.

Harry laughed and guessed that maybe Anna had a supernatural friend, too. His laughter increased when he heard Anna joke that she had many friends, including the genie, vampire, werewolf, ghost, and others.

"I know, you must like watching horror movies or reading horror novels," Harry said, chuckling. He also advised Anna to watch romantic movies or read romantic stories often so that her soul would become romantic.

Anna responded casually that romantic stories were boring because they only contained crying. It's not fun. Harry smiled and shook his head.

"When are you getting married?" Harry inquired, redirecting the conversation back to its original topic. The man smiled while glancing at the girl by his side. Anna frowned and said that Harry started sounding like her grandmother, always asking about marriage.

Harry chuckled and stated that his role as a pretend boyfriend would conclude once Anna married. Anna replied, assuring Harry that he didn't need to worry because she had a mate but remained stuck in the seventh heaven.

Harry laughed. Anna's joke made him feel relaxed. The two of them had arrived at Anna's house without realizing it. Harry reminded Anna that Jo would pick her up tomorrow. He has to leave early in the morning to prepare for his departure the day after tomorrow.

Anna is a little surprised because Harry will be leaving early. She suggested that she bring her car to take Amelia to school.

"No way!" said Harry firmly. If Anna and Amelia went together, they could wander around without being traced.

"Oops, too suspicious!" Anna grumbled. Harry pointed out that Anna's work evaluation still needs to be completed; however, he also cautioned that Jo will fetch her tomorrow at 6:30 am, so make sure to be on time.

"What? 6.30 am?" Anna shouted softly. Harry insinuated that Anna was wide-eyed and very surprised; surely Anna hadn't woken up yet. Anna reasoned that she could wake up at any time as a single.

"No wonder your soulmate is far away," Harry said sarcastically; he hinted at the belief that girls should be diligent in rising early.

"Oh, what about you? Is your soulmate closed?" Anna responded casually. Harry smiled, reassured that his soulmate was close and just a matter of time.

Anna was surprised, eager for details; she playfully, while fiddling with her eyebrows, requested a sneak peek about the mysterious person, hoping to have gossip material for the next day with Amelia.

"Tsk, just be curious," Harry said dismissively. But Anna laughed and teased him about being an excellent widower in love.

Expressing annoyance, Harry laid out responsibilities for Anna regarding Amelia. These duties included ensuring Amelia was prepared for school, fostering enthusiasm for studying, verifying breakfast preparation by the household assistant, and confirming that Jo had readied the car.

Anna grumbled about the complexity of the duties. Harry, seeking clarification, asked what was wrong. Anna, playfully dismissing it, reassured him and declared her readiness. Harry, taking on an authoritative tone, stated that required obedience. Following this, he promptly returned to his house.

Without Harry or Anna knowing, a black Avanza car still observed them. A person in an Avanza car notified his boss that Miss Anna was approaching the man and his child.

Anna adjusted to waking up early; although initially tricky, she persevered. The guy looked young but worked hard and stayed focused. That's what made him successful at a young age.

Sometimes, Anna doesn't understand why a diligent man like Harry would want to marry at a young age. Based on his age, Harry is likely around 28 and got married when he was 19 or 20. However, Anna is still enjoying playing, learning, and expressing herself freely at that age. Nevertheless, some people with solid principles choose to marry early.

Anna, who was usually relaxed, must follow Harry's rules because she agreed to be his pretend girlfriend on his terms. Anna heads to Harry's house every morning to prepare everything for Amelia before taking the little girl to school.

Afterward, Anna tended to her job. Fortunately, she can depend on her assistant to handle all work-related matters. Anna only stops in to verify and receive updates. She spends most of her time accompanying Amelia. It's not that Harry isn't aware of who Joanna is. He's been conducting a covert investigation.
