Chapter 5 Was it just an act

"Which one is correct?" Grandma asked, confused.

"Both are correct, Grandma," answered Harry with a smile.

"Our relationship has been going on for 6 months, but we only started planning to take it to a serious level for 3 months." Grandma nodded, understanding the man's explanation.

"Oh, God! luckily Harry is smart, otherwise it would've been caught," Anna muttered.

"Why didn't you ever tell me, Anna?" Grandma asked, looking at Anna. "Well, actually, I was planning to surprise you, Grandma. But yesterday, you insisted that I became confused and forgot to tell you," Anna explained. "If you had been honest with me yesterday, I wouldn't have forced you," Grandma responded. Anna smiled and said, "Yes, Grandma, you're right. I was wrong, and I'm sorry."

"Okay, then I have to leave now to plan your wedding." Grandma attempts to stand up.

"What?" Anna exclaims, surprised.

"Grandma... Grandma, relax, okay? We're not rushing," Anna tries to convince her Grandmother. "We're postponing our wedding because Harry will soon be going abroad for some business," She added.

Grandma was silent; she looked at Harry as if asking for an explanation. "That's right, Grandma," said Harry, nodding.

"Then, you must register your marriage first. The reception will be later so that you can go together." Grandma suggested.

Harry and Anna looked at each other, listening to the Grandmother's suggestion. Even Anna panicked because she didn't expect her Grandma to suggest this.

"Sorry, Grandma, I can't go overseas with Harry. I have work to finish," said Anna. "Are you sure you want to have a long-distance relationship? The temptation is strong, especially since Harry is young, attractive, and in a high position. There will be many women around him who will flirt with him, and it will hurt you," the grandmother said frankly. Having been a businesswoman from an early age, Grandma knew the social scene of business people.

"Grandma, I believe Harry," said Anna.

"That's right, Grandma. I won't betray Anna, don't worry, okay?" Harry assured her.

"Can your words be trusted?" Granny looked into Harry's eyes as if she wanted to skin him and see the young man's sincerity.

"You can take my word for it, Grandma. I guarantee my dignity, that I will never hurt Anna," Harry said firmly and convincingly. The ripples on her face were full of seriousness, making Anna shudder. Aren't they just pretending, but why does Harry look so serious?

Harry looked at Anna, who was nervous and dizzy. So, the man smiled. "Anna and I have something to do. Can I take Anna out, Grandma?" Harry asked.

"Sure, let Anna's mom accompany me here," Grandma said. "Alright, Grandma. I'll go first. Don't worry about everything, okay?" Anna replied. They said goodbye to the two women and left holding hands.

Grandma felt relieved as she saw Anna's intimacy with Harry. "Finally Anna found a good partner," she said confidently when Anna's mother asked if Harry was trustworthy.

"But you said before that Jack was good for Anna, and we discovered that wasn't true, right?" Mom asked.

Grandma looked at Mom and frowned. "That's not the same. I don't know Jack either; a friend suggested him. But Harry was Anna's choice, and I could tell that he was sincere," Grandma said confidently. "I hope it does." "As parents, we can only hope for the best," Mom interjected.

Meanwhile, Anna immediately breathed a sigh of relief after leaving the hospital. She thought about Harry's reaction earlier like he wasn't pretending.

"Why, Anna? Flustered?" Harry asked, seeing Anna, who still looked dazed.

"Harry, you've had acting training, haven't you?" Asked Anna, confused.

"Ha ha, why? Reassuring, right?" Harry replied.

"Yep, like it's no longer pretending," Anna said.

"You made the game, but you can't act. That's terrible, Anna," Harry said in a relaxed tone.

"I can't lie to grandma, you know."

"Do you think I enjoy lying?" Harry responded sharply, "Especially to parents!" Anna was taken aback. It appeared that Harry was also upset and sad.

"Honestly, Anna, I can't bear to see Grandma's condition. I really respect and appreciate parents like her. I also had a Granny, and my Granny raised me. They will be hurt if they find out they have been lied to." Harry explained.

Both fell silent. Harry's words were true, but Anna felt powerless. "I'm sorry, Harry," Anna apologized.

"Please think of a solution that won't harm Grandma too much. I don't want to hurt her, " Harry replied.

They both remained quiet after that. During the trip to Harry's house, Anna felt overwhelmed. She wondered how to end her fake relationship without making her grandmother ill.

Amelia was happy to see Anna's arrival; the little girl became very busy. He invited Anna around the mansion.

Harry had never seen his daughter so happy, as if she had gotten something she had longed for.

"How was school, dear?" Anna inquired.

"It's just average. School is not enjoyable, it's tedious," Amel responded dully.

"Really? Maybe I could go with you tomorrow. What do you think?" Anna said,

"That sounds like fun!" Amelia nodded in agreement. She felt excited.

Harry watched his daughter and shook his head without realizing it. Amelia has been hard to convince; she's surprised that Anna, whom she's only known briefly, is already so attached.

Anna was at Harry's house for quite a long time to accompany Amelia to play and study. When she returned that evening, Harry took her home.

"Are you going with Amelia to school tomorrow, Anna?" Harry asked. "Yes," Anna replied calmly.

"I want to be fully informed about Amelia's daily routine since I will be responsible for her well-being after you leave. This includes her school environment."

"Well, you don't have to take care of it around the clock, Anna. I want Amelia to be self-sufficient, and I've been training her gradually, but there are some duties that I'm unable to perform. As a result, I can only provide her with comprehension gradually," Harry muttered, appearing helpless.

"Sorry, Harry. Why you not remarry so that Amelia can have a mother?" Anna asked.

"Remarry?" Harry smiled mysteriously.
