Chapter 5 As He Pleases

"One, two..."

Despite Harvey's threat, Nolan stayed calm and held Naomi closer, his gaze filled with contempt as he stared at Harvey.

What infuriated Harvey the most wasn't Nolan's provocation, but Naomi's lack of resistance. She actually allowed Nolan to hold her waist!

"Hmph!" Harvey snorted and stopped counting. All of a sudden, an idea popped up in his mind.

"Naomi, I heard from my sister that Honory Group has recently invested hundreds of millions of dollars in a movie project. As long as you're willing to have lunch with me, I'll ask my sister to find you a B-list celebrity to endorse your cosmetics brand. What do you think?"

Harvey was serious. He knew what mattered most to Naomi. It was her career. Hence, he decided to change his strategy rather than continuing to argue with Nolan.

Harvey wanted Naomi to know that he could give her all that Nolan couldn't.

As expected, Naomi's eyes lit up upon hearing what he said. Harvey's words struck a chord because, more than the financial struggle, her company lacked a spokesperson.

"I'm sorry, Nolan..." Naomi said as she shook off his hand and walked toward Harvey.

"Naomi, don't go!"

Nolan tried grabbing her wrist, but Harvey had stepped forward by then and slapped his hand away.

"Nolan, look at yourself in the mirror. You are just a useless husband. You don't deserve Naomi at all, and you're not in any place to interfere with her decision!" Harvey said arrogantly.

Then he turned around and invited Naomi to get in the car.

"After my lunch with Naomi, I'll place a delivery order for roses, and you can send them to her. Don't worry. The tip will be even higher than yesterday's!" Harvey shot him a smug smile.

"You're finally confessing that you had intentionally ordered the cake yesterday to embarrass me in front of the Watkins family?" Nolan narrowed his eyes.

"Yes, it was me. What can you do about it?" Harvey raised his eyebrows.

"Naomi, did you hear that? He is such a despicable person! Do you really think he will keep his promise to you after a mere lunch with you?" Nolan asked.

Naomi hesitated for a while before she walked toward Harvey's Mercedes-Benz.

It was not that she trusted Harvey, but she simply had no other option for the sake of the company.

Nolan opened his mouth, having the urge to reveal his identity to her.

However, in the end, he just clenched his fists and stayed silent. Was it truly worth being so persistent for a woman willing to sell herself for money?

He couldn't figure it out.

Harvey sat in the driver's seat and deliberately stopped the car beside him. "Do you even know what kind of car this is?" He sneered. "It's Mercedes S that is worth one hundred and fifty thousand dollars! You'll never afford it even if you worked all your life!"

He even added to his ridicule. "Nolan, just ride your scooter and leave the Watkins family!"

Looking down at Harvey in a condescending manner, he asked frostily, "Do you think money is everything?"

"That's right! Money is everything! Money is what I used to make your wife have lunch with me! And money will also be the tool to make her divorce you!"

He proclaimed arrogantly, "My sister is the investment manager at Honory Group! With her working there, I can do as I please."

Then Harvey drove off with Naomi and purposely knocked over Nolan's scooter.

Without saying anything, Nolan walked over and picked up his scooter. With a gloomy face, he drove back to Honory Group and took the VIP elevator to the CEO's office on the top floor.

After receiving the order, Shelly hurriedly came to his office.

Looking at Nolan standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, she asked respectfully, "Mr. Valdez, is there anything else?"

Nolan turned around and looked at her. "I want you to acquire all of Cordia's businesses in Florisa right now. Next, look into Eva Bates and check if she's been embezzling the company funds for her brother."
