Chapter 7 She's Ruthless

"You may not always see me, Princess, but rest assured, I am always in your shadows."

Unexpectedly, Shaan's voice put Rosaline at ease as she couldn't help but slightly smile. She walked closer to the wolf under his feet and leaned in.

"Why are you attacking me?"

The wolf responded with a fierce growl, its eyes fixed on her. "You dare to ask me that, after being born of that loathsome Alpha!" it snarled vehemently.

It let out a resounding howl, signalling their hidden comrades. Faint howls echoed from all corners of the room. Raven had locked them inside, leaving them trapped. Rosaline realised it was a well-planned trap, as Shaan had mentioned that 'everyone' in the village despised Alphas. But who was this mysterious Master he had spoken of? Shaan swiftly snapped the wolf's neck, rendering it motionless, and turned his gaze toward the window.

"Princess!" he called out, beckoning her to join him. As Rosaline approached, she witnessed a group of wolves waiting on the ground, ready to pounce. Ace and Ryder were likely surrounded as well.

"Let's stay here. I want to speak with the chief." she calmly stated, withdrawing her gun. The cold air had turned her nose, cheeks, and lips cerise. Shaan removed his coat and wrapped her with it like a burrito.

"What are you doing-" she began, but paused when she realised Shaan's face was mere inches away from hers. His dark blue eyes appeared even more vibrant as they locked onto hers. At that moment, it felt as if they were drawing her in, enchanting her.

She thought he was about to object, but he simply walked away without saying a word.

"I'll be right here," he said gently. Rosaline stood frozen within the warmth of his coat, momentarily taken aback.

Hours passed by, and no one entered the room. The sounds from outside had ceased. They likely desired Rosaline's lifeless body to rot away, but she was alive and well, patiently plotting and awaiting the arrival of the chief. And Shaan was there standing faithfully by her side, without questioning a thing.

As the sun vanished from the sky, the door finally creaked open, and the chief entered, accompanied by a group of wolves. The moment she stepped inside, her eyes widened upon seeing Rosaline peacefully sleeping in Shaan's arms. His hands gently covered her ears as he glared at them. Their gazes followed his finger, which he placed on his lips, silently mouthing the words,

"Not another sound."

Though a mere Beta, his commanding gaze overwhelmed them. The chief sensed an aura of blue flames emanating from his orbs in that dark room. She glanced at the floor and noticed the dead body of that Omega wolf. Something cautioned her not to disobey or he was able to silently take them down within minutes. Without uttering another word, she gestured to her group to retreat.

The door closed before them, and Shaan's gaze fell upon Rosaline, her silver hair strands resting delicately on her cheeks. In his eyes, she appeared as innocent as a child. Slowly, he slipped his hand inside the coat, brushing his hand against her slender neck, a neck he could easily snap in two.

"Not now," he murmured to himself, withdrawing his hand and placing it gently on her head. He closed his eyes, allowing himself a brief moment of rest.

The next morning, Rosaline froze as she heard the chief's words,

"Leave our place."

Rather than her words what surprised her more was her mood.

She seemed eager to get Rosaline out of the place, even offering her breakfast and apologising for the previous commotion. Rosaline glanced back at Ace and Ryder, who appeared perfectly fine. After all, what had happened during the night to change their minds?

"Before I go, I wanted to ask you about something regarding the phantom Reaper," Rosaline inquired, determined to gather information.

"Leave. I know nothing of that name. Leave us be," the chief insisted. However, not all the wolves were happy with that decision. They glared at Rosaline, their eyes filled with a desire to destroy her.

"Princess," Shaan called out, breaking the tension. "Let's go."

Rosaline glanced at the chief one last time, nodding in acknowledgment, before turning to walk away. But her steps halted when a voice from the group shouted, "Kill her! They don't deserve to live!"

She looked back to identify the source of the words, but there was only eerie silence hanging in the air. As she took another step, more voices pierced through, "Show daddy's girl what real misery is, tear her to shreds!"

This time, Rosaline refrained from looking back and instead shifted her gaze toward her three bodyguards standing a few feet away. In a low murmur, she uttered, "End them."

Hearing her command, Ace moved with the speed of the wind, swiftly breaking the necks of those two wolves amidst the crowd. Rosaline didn't wish to create a commotion so she stayed low, but she was far from the docile little daddy's girl they had perceived her to be. She was a member of the arrogant Mafia.

"I gave you a chance to leave!" the chief growled in rage, her body transforming into a fearsome wolf. The crowd erupted in screams, howls, and sneers. The situation was about to descend into a bloodbath.

"Stay put," Rosaline commanded Shaan, then walked toward the opposing group, pulling out her gun and firing indiscriminately. Her shots echoed through the air, aimed at eliminating anyone who stood in her path. The sounds of yelping and screeching filled the tense atmosphere. Her intention was to wipe out everyone present in that place.

As Shaan, Ace, and Ryder continued to observe Rosaline's relentless fight in silence, a sense of unease settled within them. Her usual composed gaze had transformed into something detached as if she no longer cared about the consequences.

"Let her be for now," Shaan replied, his tone calm and measured, his eyes fixed on Rosaline.

"What should we inform to Boss?

"They don't have an Alpha so it'll be fine," Ace replied as he scanned the surroundings,

"But isn't there something wrong with their number? There were more of them a few minutes ago."

"Shaan it's no good!" Ryder yelled out, noticing four wolves sneaking behind the shadows to take down Rosaline from behind. By that time she had run out of bullets and they were waiting for that moment to ambush.
