It wasn't long before a search party was made on Jonathan's name.
Since Jonathan did not have a phone, he wasn't aware of the news. He had utterly forgotten he overheard the discussion between Helen and Kenny. The only thing he had in mind was a way to kidnap his wife and prevent her from aborting their child. He wanted to believe his wife loved him just enough to decide to keep the baby. He wanted to have a decent conversation with her without her parents. He tried to believe they were the ones poisoning his wife's mind. Fixing his memory on the good times they shared, he tried to convince her.
Jonathan found an abandoned building where he stayed. Although he left with nothing, he still had some money in his account. All Jonathan needed to do was to find a way back to the mansion, kidnap Helen, bring her to the abandoned building, and spend some quality time with her. According to him, once Helen realizes she is in love with him, her parents won't stop them from having their child.
Spending some days locked up in an abandoned building indeed did something to make Jonathan forget all about how badly he was treated back in the Mayorga mansion.
His first mistake was thinking Helen loved him back, and his second, well, his second mistake was walking back into the lion's den.
Without proper planning, Jonathan tries to sneak back into the mansion but is caught by the security. They flash an alarm, and soon, he is surrounded.
"Haven't you learned your lesson, bro?" Jim asked. Jim thought that by now, Jonathan would've come to his senses, but he was wrong.
"You don't understand, Jim. Helen has my child. I need to get her back before her parents force her to have an abortion."
"She insults you; she shows no regard for you. Is that not enough reason for you to leave forever? You must be foolish for coming back now, of all times, when you're wanted."
"What do you mean?"
Before Jim could inform Jonathan of the latest happenings, the sirens could be heard from far away.
His wife, his mother, and father-in-law walked out now.
"Are you ready?" Jane asked her daughter.
"Let the show begin!"
Immediately after she said this, the security let go of Jonathan.
Jonathan, utterly oblivious to the fact that it was a setup, used the opportunity to grab hold of Helen.
"Help! He's trying to kidnap me!" Helen screamed.
The security tried to stop him, and one of the guards shoved a gun into his hands.
"He has a gun! Help!" Jane screamed.
In two seconds, the police officers got a hold of Jonathan, taking him away.
"You are under arrest for arson, embezzlement, and the attempted kidnapping of Mrs. Helen Mayorga. You have the right to remain silent, as anything you say or do will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney, and if you can't afford one, the government will provide for you. "
He turned to look at his in-laws. He found Helen giving fake tears, her mum comforting her.
He saw Jim nodding his head and going back to his work.
Finally, he found Cardona addressing the crowd that now surrounded the mansion.
Many of Cardona's fans took videos of the "kidnap attempt of Helen by her evil husband" to the press.
They were wrong; he had no right to remain silent. He was continually tortured and told to admit he committed all the crimes. First, they chopped off his fingers with pliers, but he wouldn't admit to his crime. Then he was submerged in ice-cold water to drown, yet he still refused to confess. Not until electricity was added to the torture did he finally agree to the crimes he was accused of.
The government did not provide an attorney for him. After 48 long hours of torture and his final admittance, the judge sentenced him to 17 years imprisonment.
Since the prison was on an island, the ship was the most appropriate means of transportation.
On his way, the reality became apparent as a mirror. He was used. His wife only pretended to love him.
He was so stupid he did not realize sooner. He should have left when he had the chance. He let his emotions get the best of him.
Jonathan spoke to himself. If he were ever given a second chance, he would become even more heartless than the devil. If he were to be allowed to better himself, he would take back everything from his in-laws. He would make them all suffer.
His wife? Jonathan swore to ruin her life. If she were ever to get married to Kenny, he would make sure to destroy their marriage just as Kenny did his.
As for Kenny, he would strip him bare to his knees. Kenny's money is so valuable that Jonathan swore to take everything away if he was granted a second chance.
Now, there was no room for ignorance and love in his heart... Only vengeance! Pure vengeance.
There was only one solid thing in Jonathan's mind: the desire to have revenge.
"If I am given another chance, the Mayorga family pay for everything. Cardona will plead for my mercy; I will be honored to watch him bleed! I will ruin the Mayorga family! "
" You are filled with hate, aren't you? " Some other prisoner sitting beside him asked, noticing his angry looks.
" I have nothing to live for except the hope to avenge those who did me wrong, " Jonathan replied.
" Be careful. Don't let revenge take over your heart. " The man advised.
Jonathan ignored the man and continued to think of ways to take revenge on the Mayorga family. A violent sound ruined his thoughts. Since he was handcuffed and locked up, he couldn't stand up to check what was happening. Jonathan could only hear wailings from different people, shoes going up and down.
Another inmate who was privileged to be near the window stretched his neck to check out what was happening.
"What's wrong?" Someone asked,
"I think we met with a violent storm!"
