Chapter 6 The Lost Prince

"What do you mean?" Another doctor, the first one Jonathan had met when he woke up, asked in surprise.

"You know this device never makes mistakes with a person's DNA. Did you not notice his striking similarities with Prince Jael?"

"Are you saying this young man is somehow related to the prince?"

"It says his name is Jonathan Blaxin, an indigen of a certain country named Lexington."

"Then how can he be related to the prince?"

"I don't know. That's why King Lucius is on his way. "

" I don't understand. What are you guys talking about? " Jonathan asked, confused.

" Don't worry, Jonathan. Your memory test shows that in a week, you'll start remembering your past. Just calm down. " The first doctor said.

It made no difference. Jonathan's mind was in chaos. Who was he? Where did he come from?

" Can... Can I at least watch the last five minutes of.. "

" Oh, that's ready, but your psychological test indicates you are not ready for flashbacks. You may have faced traumatic events that are blocking your memories from coming back, and trying to force them by showing you the last five minutes you spent before going unconscious would only worsen your situation. We suggest you rest while further tests are done for you. Don't worry about how to pay back. You may be stuck on this island forever. Every youth works hard, and part of the tax will be in payment of your hospital bills."

Jonathan hated his present situation. All he did all day was eat and be taken from one place to another for different tests. Though they were fun, he soon got bored of them.

After King Lucius' visit, it was proven that Jonathan was indeed the missing prince of Canterbridge: Prince Alexis of Canterbridge.

Long ago, when Jael and his twin brother, Alexis, were born, Canterbridge had started associating with people from other countries.

Canterbridge had built a unique aircraft industry that would go to any country. Some explorers visited the kingdom. King Lucius only showed kindness to these explorers, but in reality, they were spies sent by the president of Euphen. He heard about Canterbridge's technology and natural resources. He wanted to colonize Canterbridge.

Of course, King Lucius learned of their secret plans. He stopped the activities of the aircraft industry almost immediately, leaving the explorers stuck in Canterbridge without any means of communication or transportation, as going through the ocean was a significant risk.

They threatened the king to let them return, but he refused to release them. As a result, the explorers kidnapped Lucius' two-year-old children, Prince Jael and Prince Alexis. The explorers sent a message to the King that if he didn't hire an aircraft for them to go back to their country to report everything they found in Canterbridge, he would never see them again.

The king, scared for his children's lives, provided an aircraft for them. Being a wise man, he ensured the plane would stop working in the middle of the ocean so they would get drowned and die forever.

The foolish explorers happily got a hold of the aircraft and released Jael. Alexis had crawled into the plane by mistake, and the explorers did not notice. They returned only Jael.

Realizing that one of the twin children was with them, they knew they could not return to Canterbridge to drop him off, so they tied him to the only parachute available. The young prince floated in the sky until the head of the orphanage in Lexington rescued him. The explorers noticed too late that their aircraft was faulty and were eaten by sharks before they could return to their country to tell the story.

King Lucius, discovering his second-twin son was taken away, closed the operation of the aircraft industry. Although Alexis was believed to most likely die in the faulty aircraft, Lucius always had faith his son would return.

His wife, Shila, died of a heart attack when she realized she had lost her son to the wicked people of the world.

Lucius then told himself that it was probably nature's way of telling him he didn't need to relate with the outside world.

Since that day, Canterbridge hasn't had any visitors again... Not until Jonathan's arrival.

No doubt, when Lucius found out his son was still alive and was brought back after 24 years, he was thrilled. While Jonathan was in his ward, eating and having several tests and therapy sessions, the whole kingdom of Canterbridge was in complete jubilation at the Prince's arrival.

When the health reports indicated that he was in perfect condition and could leave the hospital, the king, along with his son, Prince Jael, walked into the hospital ward.

"Welcome back, son. I am so happy to see you!" Lucius spoke, embracing Jonathan.

"Brother!" Jael exclaimed, reaching out to hug him. Jonathan was confused.

Just yesterday, he was informed his name was Jonathan, and he was from a specific country. Now, this.

"Don't worry. I'll take my time to explain everything. Your memories will come back either today or tomorrow. You can call me Jael. I'm your twin brother."

"I have a twin!? "

Immediately, his new name was given, and everything about Jonathan changed. He was no longer just Jonathan but Prince Alexis of Canterbridge. He was given a new robe and a crown to match Jael's. Though Jael was his senior, they were still twins.

Immediately Prince Alexis stepped out of the hospital, he knew he was no longer the same person. Though he didn't remember who he was, he understood that now, he was on a different level.

Alexis was met with a large crowd, everyone cheering and calling his name. All he could do was smile and wave. He had no idea how royal people acted.

Immediately, the royal limo arrived. This wasn't an ordinary limo used like other countries. It had very different features like shape-shifting, etc. A unique royal android controlled it.

As Jael clapped his hands, the royal limo split in halves, allowing them to walk into it.

From that moment, everything in Alexis' life changed for the better.
