Chapter 9 Darian

This hotel has a restaurant; I can eat for free because I am a VIP. After dinner, I went back to my room. Being harassed by Titus at noon at Moon Castle was thrown behind my head. I know he definitely won't dare to spread the word about me hurting him because he was the one who caused the problem first.

I opened my backpack; a wooden box, a book, and a few small ziplock bags were inside. Through the transparent layer of the ziplock bags, I can see pure white poison powder. These are the finished products I have made before.

The wooden box is small but is designed with two compartments, and both are used to store poison preparation tools. However, this is just a basic set of tools, only enough to make low-level poisons. Some powerful poisons require more professional tools.

I picked up the book. It looked ancient, as if it had been around for a long time. I carefully cherished each page of the book, afraid that I would break the book if I were a little too strong. The content of this book is the fruit of Pearl's lifelong research. She meticulously wrote down all the poisons she invented in the book. Although I have read this book many times and am able to memorize it, I still cherish it as a treasure because it is a souvenir Pearl left me.

While taking inventory of my belongings, a knock on the door made me jump. I quickly put everything in my backpack, hiding it in a hidden corner. After that, I adjusted my emotions and calmly went to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, a large body immediately covered my entire field of vision. Startled, I looked up and saw the gloomy face of a man. At this moment, I felt like I was facing death.

I panicked, stepped back, and stammered, "Who are you?"

The man did not answer me but directly entered the room and closed the door. I was so scared; I didn't understand what was happening. I hurriedly asked, "What are you doing? Why did you enter my room? Who are you? You hurry out before I call the hotel security to arrest you."

The man's face darkened, and his sharp eyes looking at me made me shiver involuntarily. I wanted to scream and run out, but the man guessed my intentions. Before I could scream, he grabbed me and covered my mouth.

I panicked but mixed with anger. I don't understand what the hell is happening to me. I met the goddamn Titus in the afternoon; now I meet this madman.

Because my father hurt me since childhood, there is a psychological ghost in my heart; I hate men and never want to be in close contact with them. One day, I was brought into close contact with two strange men, making me highly uncomfortable. Why do I have to face these ironic situations?

I struggled harder but couldn't get rid of the man's strong arms. If I compare him with Titus, I find him many times scarier than Titus.

"Stop! I'm Darian." A stern voice rang in my ear.

Initially, I struggled fiercely, but when I heard Darian's name, my movements immediately stalled. I was startled; now I remember Darian's face in the photo. 'It's really him! Why didn't I recognize him earlier?' I whispered to myself.

Perhaps he appeared too suddenly. Moreover, his face was so dark that I panicked, so I didn't recognize him for a moment.

Darian saw that I had stopped struggling and let go of me. He took a step back, some distance away from me.

I'm still stunned. I don't understand why Darian came looking for me, but when I saw Darian's movements, I immediately turned to stone. He was using a handkerchief to wipe his hands; his expression was disgusted as if he had just touched something foul.

Seconds later, I was entirely out of my mind. I yelled, "What the hell are you doing? Why did you barge into my room? Even though you're my fiancé, you don't have that right either. More than that, why do you have that attitude? If you hate me, please get out of here. Damn it! Foolish!"

Darian narrowed his eyes, his expression dangerous. He stopped wiping his hands, threw the towel on the floor, and then, in a calm voice, "You thought I wanted to come here? Don't give me more trouble if you don't want me to come here."

I was confused, not understanding the meaning of Darian's words. I asked, "What trouble have I caused?"

Darian pursed his lips, looking at me with mockery and contempt. He said, "Are you pretending to be stupid with me? What you've done, you know best."

I rolled my eyes, frustrated because I didn't understand what was happening.

Darian continued to scoff at me, "I've heard that you're a liberal woman who changes boyfriends often, but I don't think you can be so bold as to seduce your fiancé's brother. We will be married in a few days, but you did such a shameful thing. You don't need a face, but I need it."

Darian's words were like lightning in my ears, making me momentarily dumbfounded. I opened my mouth to protest, but Darian didn't give me that chance. He said sternly, "I give you one last chance to choose: continue this marriage or annul it. You choose!"

I was so frustrated that my explanations caught in my throat, trembling as I said, "I won't break the engagement."

After I finished speaking, I lowered my head, my eye sockets were hot, my nose was stinging, and my heart was so bitter that I couldn't speak. If I hadn't been in a difficult situation, I would never have married this damn Darian. He didn't give me a chance to explain but instead stated that I was at fault, making me highly uncomfortable. He is an unreasonable person.

Darian was silent for a moment; then, he snorted coldly. I could feel the irony in his snort. I raised my head and glared at Darian, my eyes full of resentment. Anyway, since he didn't hide his contempt for me, there was no need for me to pretend to be gentle with him.

At this point, Darian's face turned serious again; he said, "I know you don't like me; I don't like you either. This is just a political marriage. I wouldn't care about you if you didn't cause trouble and ruin my face. You can do whatever you like in Dark Moon, but you absolutely cannot commit adultery. I will make you die if you dare to commit adultery behind me. This is the first and last time I have warned you. If you're not afraid to die, you can try to disobey me."

Darian's sharp eyes carried a cold light, and his whole body radiated strong killing intent. Right now, he looked like a demon from hell.

I know he's not joking. My heart sank.

Darian said and turned around to leave, no matter what I said or not.

I felt so resentful that I couldn't help but scream, "I do not seduce Titus. He was the one who messed with me first."

Darian went to the door. His footsteps paused for a second, but then, he opened the door and walked out without turning around.

I know he won't believe my words. I don't know why I said that, but seeing Darian's reaction disappointed me even more.

After being warned by Darian, I felt very resentful and angry. So, I took the initiative to contact Logan to ask him what happened. Logan told me that the servants in Moon Castle had seen Titus and me kissing in the hallway, so they rumored that I had seduced Titus.

After listening to Logan explain why, I didn't say anything more to him. I know Darian is suspicious of me, even if explaining to Logan won't solve anything.
