Chapter 4 Sleep Disorder

The Dean was rendered speechless by Everleigh's words.

Anger blazed in Raelynn's eyes. "What did you say?" she bellowed after Everleigh. "Say it again!" The threat was evident in her voice.

However, Everleigh just ignored her. She turned and strutted off, not bothering to even look at Raelynn.

Everleigh didn't want to do anything with her.

"What's with her attitude? Is she out of her mind? Does she want to get fired?" Raelynn growled through gritted teeth.

"No, no, Mrs. Harris. Please don't be angry. Dr. Lewis might have misunderstood us. Please give me a moment. I'll explain everything to her and have her treat Mr. Harris tomorrow. Please don't worry about it."

The Dean grew anxious. After consoling Raelynn, he hurried to catch up with Everleigh.

The utterance of the familiar name, Harris, infuriated Everleigh. She couldn't believe fate would bring the people she never wanted to meet in her life again. She didn't want to treat him.

It had been five years since she left them, but they were all alive. They all deserved to go to hell after what they had done to her.

Everleigh quickened her pace.

However, she didn't realize she had been trembling all over as she walked. She clutched her fists until her knuckles turned white. Everleigh got into her car, slammed the door shut, slumped on the steering wheel, and closed her eyes.

It had been five years, but seeing Raelynn brought back memories of her bitter past.

Everleigh thought she had forgotten all about her previous life, but Raelynn's arrival reminded her the scar would remain all her life. Anger surged through her veins. She almost wanted to stab the woman.

Everleigh couldn't believe they would come to her to treat Weldon. He was a monster who wouldn't hesitate to kill his own children. She would rather save a dog than treat him.

It took a long while for Everleigh to calm down. Finally, she drove back home.

By the time she got home, both her kids had fallen asleep.

Samuel was a considerate child. He not only got his sister to finish her dinner but also bathed her. Everleigh walked into the children's room and saw him holding his sister in his arms, putting her to sleep.

"Mommy, you're back!" he mumbled in his sleep.

"Yes, I'm back! Go to sleep, sweetie." She smiled and kissed her son's forehead.

Samuel turned over and went back to sleep.

Everleigh couldn't help but smile at how adorable they looked. She tucked the two of them in, saw their peaceful sleeping faces, and returned to the study.

"Freya, are you up?"

"Yeah. What's up? Is everything all right?"

"Can you do me a favor? Go to the hospital tomorrow morning..."

Everleigh spoke to her friend as she booked three tickets to Japan online.

--

On the top floor of the Hill Hotel in the city center, Weldon stared at the woman crying before him.

He sat on the sofa, cross-legged. The collar of his white shirt was crisply ironed. He wore a complementary black tie with dark lines. He looked noble and elegant.

Weldon was more good-looking and majestic now.

Just then, his special assistant, Wesley Davis, also joined their conversation. Seeing Raelynn cry, he asked, "Miss Griffiths, are you saying the Klyre Hospital hasn't arranged a doctor for us? So it is not as prestigious as they claim?" Significantly, he addressed her as "Miss Griffiths" instead of "Mrs. Harris."

"The people there have such a bad attitude. She is just a doctor. I only asked a few questions, but she yelled at me. She said she never planned to treat Weldon."

Raelynn twisted the truth to gain more sympathy.

Weldon's face darkened when he heard that.

"Who is she?"

"Nancy! I heard the Dean call her Nancy. He said she was the only doctor in their hospital with traditional treatment skills."

Raelynn couldn't wait to disclose the doctor's name. She looked vicious as if she was desperate to drag Everleigh before Weldon and make her pay the price for being rude to her.

A frown lined Weldon's forehead.

He suffered from a severe sleep disorder.

Weldon had been taking sleeping pills for several years. He couldn't sleep without them. But the medicines were not good for him. It had a lot of side effects. He would become more irritable and have a splitting headache. His rage would reach a point where he sometimes wanted to murder someone.

That was the reason for his visit.

Weldon was in desperate need of treatment, but the doctor refused to treat him.

His jaw tightened, and his bloodshot eyes blazed with anger.

"Wesley, I want you to find about this woman."

"Okay, sir!"

"And ask Terry Watson to come and meet me right now!"

Terry Watson was the Dean of the Klyre Hospital.

Wesley shuddered and went to do the job right away.

Raelynn's face broke into a triumphant smile when she saw that.

She couldn't believe a doctor dared to be presumptuous around her.

Everleigh tossed and turned on the bed all night as she had a gnawing feeling in her heart.

However, although she barely slept all night, she didn't realize her phone screen frequently lit to life. The next morning, she awoke to the blaring of the alarm. Everleigh saw seven missed calls when she turned off the alarm.

Soon, all traces of sleep vanished from her face.
