Chapter 9 Invitation

At this moment, every member of the Selleck family had their eyes on Meade as though he was a glittering diamond.

Even Leonel couldn't help but say, "Mr. Curtis, you are not merely relaying this information to us, are you?"

As the patriarch of the Selleck family, Leonel had a discerning eye for potential opportunities.

Hearing this, everyone looked at Meade expectantly and waited for his reply.

Even Brinley and her parents wanted to be part of this banquet. Regardless of whether it was to meet this mysterious president or bid for the project, it was undeniable that simply being there would be of great help to them.

Meade nodded. "Of course."

Then, he took out several golden invitation letters.

As soon as Erica saw them, she almost threw herself into Meade's arms, while the rest of the Selleck family had their eyes glued to the invitations.

From their perspective, the thing that Meade was holding wasn't simply an invitation, but rather a chance for them to rise to fame.

"These invitations cost me a lot to get, but today, I'll be giving you these for free!" As he spoke, a complacent smile broke on Meade's face.

Everyone's eyes lit up in an instant, still in disbelief that Meade was going to give them these invitations for free.

"Mr. Curtis, you're so generous! I can't believe that you're willing to help us like this!" Erica couldn't contain her excitement as she took one of the invitations.

After that, she delicately pressed it against her chest and glanced at the side.

Then, her voice grew sharp as she said, "Unlike someone who only brags but does nothing. Instead, he even tries to take credit for what others have done! How shameless!"

Randolph's expression remained constant as he continued looking quietly at them.

Meade approached the members of the Selleck family one by one and gave them an invitation each.

When it was Julissa's turn, she stretched out both her hands. "Thank you, Mr. Curtis!" she said flatteringly.

However, Meade scratched his head and pretended to be embarrassed. "Oh, I'm sorry. I don't have enough capacity to invite everyone. I've already given away all the invitations that I have."

As soon as she heard this, Julissa froze in place.

"Hahaha!"

"How dare you act so shamelessly and ask for an invitation? You deserve not to get invited because you gave up such an excellent son-in-law for a rapist!"

"This is hilarious! I'm afraid someone's brain just broke!"

As the insults rained upon them, Julissa and Kieran's face turned pale.

It was so obvious that Meade did that on purpose. He wanted to get revenge for Brinley's escape from marriage.

As this happened, Brinley's eyes also darkened as her lips pursed in disappointment.

She really wanted to showcase her ability by handling the project well. She believed in her own strength, and she wanted her grandpa to see what she was capable of so that he would promote her again.

However, in the end, her hope withered into disappointment.

How could she succeed in bidding on the project if she didn't have an invitation in the first place?

A bitter smile formed on her face.

Seeing this, Randolph felt his heart crumple in pity.

"Do you want to attend this banquet so badly?" he asked her.

But before Brinley could answer, Julissa shot a hateful stare at Randolph and cried, "Can't you just shut up, you loser? Who doesn't want to attend such a banquet? You're so stupid for just asking that question."

Even though her remark was full of contempt, Randolph didn't get angry. Instead, he even smiled. "If you want to attend it, I'll take you there. We won't even need an invitation."

As soon as he said this, the entire Selleck family burst into laughter.

Erica folded her arms and sneered, "Humph! Again? You just can't stop yourself from bragging, can you? Do you think that the mayor's banquet is just some party on the street that you can attend any time you like?"

Randolph glanced indifferently at her and calmly replied, "Of course I can attend it whenever I like. After all, the big shot that the mayor has invited is none other than me!"
