Chapter 5 Five

Lucy didn't think for long, she knew she had to run if she wanted to save her own life.

"I wouldn't want to be found." She mused, before coming up with the best plan of escape.

"I could fake my own death." She thought, then begin to plan by coming up with different scenarios.

Lucy had always been a quick thinker. She knew that if she wanted to fake her own death, she would need to leave behind a convincing scene. She searched her surroundings and found a nearby construction site. Perfect, she thought to herself, it would provide the perfect cover-up.

She quickly jumped the fence and made her way toward the large piles of gravel. She took off her jacket and placed it on top of one of the piles. She then found a large rock and began to hit it against the gravel pile, creating a loud noise that echoed through the construction site.

Lucy then grabbed a handful of gravel and threw it at her own jacket, creating the illusion of bullet holes. She then laid down on the ground next to the jacket and closed her eyes. She focused on slowing down her breathing, making it appear that she had been shot.

After a few minutes, she heard footsteps approaching. She held her breath as the footsteps got closer, but then she heard a familiar voice.

"What familiar voice? No that can't work." She dismissed her own thoughts, jumping to another.

As Lucy ran through the dark, deserted streets, she couldn't help but feel the whispering tendrils of fear wrapping around her. She was in too deep, she knew too much. She had to disappear if she wanted to survive.

Her mind raced as she considered her options. She could leave the country, change her identity, and start anew. But that would take time, a time she didn't have. She needed a way out, fast.

Then it hit her, the perfect plan. She would stage her own death.

Lucy's heart raced as she considered the different ways she could fake her own demise. Should she jump off a bridge and make it look like a suicide? Or should she stage a car accident and disappear into the night?

Her mind buzzed with possibilities. She could even hire someone to do it for her, make it look like a murder. But no, that was too risky. She couldn't trust anyone.

Finally, she settled on a plan. She would kill herself and make it look like a murder, but not before she had time to make a few important preparations.

The plan was perfect, of that, Lucy was sure. She would simply leave behind a note, explaining her reasoning for why she felt she had no other choice. She would make it something that would inspire others to act, something that would lead them to her mission of changing the world for the better.

Lucy came to the conclusion that she would choose her own murderer. She would have one last interaction with a fellow human being before she exited the world forever. But who should it be? Some notable figure, perhaps? Or just perhaps, the greatest villain of all time.

But, what villain could she possibly choose? What kind of person had she encountered capable of such evil? Lucy couldn't think of any. That's when she had an idea.

"I could make an enemy." She thought to herself. It was a risky move, she would have to allow this person to get close to her, but she saw no other way. She needed a villain, a monster, and she knew exactly where to find one.

She would go to her old high school. It was there that she knew she could find the kind of monster she was looking for. She could spend a few days there, and easily make an enemy.

She would have to go away and come back a few times before she would be able to find the villain she was looking for. Fortunately, there was a place where she could stay without being noticed. It was an abandoned building, an old laboratory. She spent her youth exploring the building and knew it like the back of her hand.

Lucy made her way to the abandoned building and quickly found her way to the back room. It was pitch black in there, but she knew the room like the back of her hand. She could easily navigate the room in the darkness.

Eventually, she settled on setting fire to her own house.

"What's taking him so long?" She asked herself, but in all honesty, she was glad Kieran was coming back late, that gives her enough time to execute her plans.

She poured fuel all over the house before running into the forest and setting fire to the entrance.

It soon became a wildfire and everyone gathered around, trying to quench it.

"No!" A loaned voice came from behind and everyone looked back, it was Kieran.

He walked into the house, the fire was already subduing.

"Lucy!" He screamed looking around, but nobody was found.

"Look around for her." Finick gave the orders to the warriors that were standing around.

They looked around, but she was nowhere to be found. Kieran stared at the house, watching the warriors do their search.

"We can't find her your highness." Finick bowed in reference.

With Finick's words, Kieran got angry at his incapable attitude, so he moved closer to the beta, holding him by his neck.

"How dare you defy me?" His wolf was present, he wanted to punish Finick for not finding their mate.

"I dare not alpha." Finick bowed, despite the pain he was feeling in his neck.

Kieran's wolf didn't like the fact that his beta was talking back at him, so he fling him to the wall, his back hitting the door.

"You will not defy me!!" He shouted, and Finick remained on the ground in a kneeling position while nodding his head.

"I don't care what you do beta, Find her!" With that order, Kieran stormed out of the room.
