"Trent, I am doing the laundry right now. As soon as I am done, I will make you dinner," Lucy said in a low voice, trying to keep her fear under control.
Trent stepped forward and grabbed Lucy by the hair, pulling her closer to him. "You don't tell me what to do, bitch. You do what I say, when I say it!" he bellowed, his breath smelling of alcohol.
Lucy winced in pain but tried to keep her composure. "I am sorry, Trent. I'll make your dinner right now," she said as she tried to free herself from his grip.
Trent tightened his grip on Lucy's hair and pushed her against the wall.
"You are nothing but a useless bitch! You are good for nothing! I got better things to do than to wait for you!" he said and before Lucy could react, he rained down a slap on her face. Trent kept slapping Lucy, using his other hand to grab her neck, pushing her head hard against the wall.
"You fucking useless bitch! I should have killed you when I first met you!" he said, gritting his teeth as he pushed Lucy for a response.
Trent went quiet when Lucy brought her knee up hard, straight into his groin. Trent howled in pain and released his hold on Lucy. Her hand flew to her neck to grab her aching necklace. Lucy looked at Trent with a bright smile, and all Trent saw was red.
Lucy looked at Trent who had a murderous look in his eyes. She saw him take a step towards her; his face was now inches away from hers. Trent gave a disgusted look.
"I saw you in town with some guy, you think I won't know you're cheating on me?" He slapped her hard ans she gasped.
True enough, she was talking to a man in the store while she was out getting groceries.
"Trent, I swear to you, I am not cheating on you," Lucy said in a low voice, pleading with him.
"Oh yeah? So what exactly were you doing?" Trent asked with a grin.
"I was buying stuff for dinner and he just asked me where the bathroom was!" she said, hoping that he wouldn't believe her.
Trent frowned and punched Lucy in the abdomen. Lucy cried out in pain as Trent went on hitting her, alternating between her face and her abdomen. Lucy fell on the floor, gasping for air, but Trent was relentless.
"Look, you fucking bitch," Trent said and pulled her up by the hair. "You will not leave me, do you understand? You are mine, and you will always be mine!" he roared, right in her face.
Lucy looked away from Trent, unable to meet his eyes. She was scared that he would do something to her necklace again.
"That's not true, I didn't cheat, I swear on the Goddess." She whispered in her faint voice.
"I am not cheating on you! What are you talking about?" She had been accused of cheating before and she was tired of it.
"Don't lie to me, you slut! You're just like all the other women. I'll give you to the count of three to tell me the truth." Trent said, his finger going up to Lucy's face.
"I am not lying, please Trent. I don't know what you're talking about!" Lucy said, trying to hide her panic.
"One," he continued.
"Trent, please! I am telling the truth!" Lucy pleaded as she wrapped her arms around Trent's neck.
"Two," Trent didn't let up.
"Please, please. I swear I am not cheating! Please!" Lucy cried out and Trent released her. She tried to get out of the house but he grabbed her before she could even touch the door knob.
"Where do you think you're going, bitch?" he asked, taunting her.
Lucy did not respond; she just tried to get away. Trent gripped down hard on her necklace and Lucy cried out in pain. She tried to go around him but he pinned her against the wall. Lucy looked at him pleadingly; tears flowed down her cheeks.
Trent's face was just inches away from Lucy and he could smell her sweet breath. He knew she was scared and all he wanted to do was scare her a little more. "How dare you think you can cheat on me? Don't you know who I am?" he whispered in her ear.
Lucy tried to get away again and Trent punched her hard, right in the eye. "You stupid little bitch!" he said and moved away from her to look at her swollen face.
"I can't believe that you would dare to cheat on me! It makes me wonder why I even took you in the first place!" Trent barked.
Lucy regretted taking him as her mate, before she could say anything, his phone rang,
"What?!" He barked at whoever was on the other side of the phone.
"Yes, I'll be right there." He answered, nodding before releasing Lucy from his death grip.
She gasped, feeling relief course through her.
"You better have dinner ready when I'm back." He kicked her one last time before exiting the house.
Lucy cried until there were no more years to cry.
"He accused me of cheating, maybe I should cheat indeed, after all, he's not my real mate," Lucy said in a voice void of emotion as she stood up.
She donned herself in a good outfit, did makeup to cover up her bruises then ventured into the night, ready to get her game on.
She sat in a corner, enjoying the music in the club when a stranger walked up to her.
"Need a company?" The voice asked, deep and masculine.
"Depends on who is asking." She replied in a sultry voice.
"Wanna get out of here?" She needn't think twice.
Like that, she spent her night with a stranger.
Little did she know.
