Chapter 4 Four

A weight was lifted off of Lucy's shoulders when she heard the news of Trent being banished. She cried in relief that freedom was hers. But the rumors she had concerning the Lycan King that made the judgment was however unsettling. "You remember that war from years ago? He caused it." The women of the pack that has lost husbands and mates with children to the war talked behind Kieran's back. Lucy knew she would be signing a death sentence for herself if she tried anything untoward, so she decided to stay low for a while to gather herself together from the suffering she has had from Trent.

She cleaned her house, did her laundry and made herself her favorite dish, but when it was time to eat, she couldn't taste a thing as she ran to the bathroom to puke her lungs out. Lucy sat on the cold tile floor, her head spinning and her stomach churning. She had been feeling sick for days now, but she had attributed it to the stress of Trent's banishment. But now, with her favorite dish returned to her in such an unpleasant way, she began to wonder if something was wrong. It wasn't long before Lucy realized that she was pregnant. The news hit her hard, and she sank into a deep depression. She couldn't bear the thought of raising a child on her own, not after what Trent had put her through. "No it can't be, no no no." She chanted as she stared at the two-line on the pregnancy test she took. She then book an appointment with the pack doctor to confirm the weeks. As Lucy sat in the doctor's office, waiting for the results of her pregnancy test, a million thoughts raced through her mind. She had always known that having a child with Trent would be a disaster, but the idea of having a child alone was equally daunting. She didn't know if she had the strength to do it on her own. The door opened, and the doctor walked in with a clipboard in hand. "Congratulations, Lucy," she said with a smile. "You're about five weeks pregnant." Lucy's heart sank. She wasn't ready for this. She didn't know how to be a mother, and she didn't want to bring a child into a world where Trent might come back and cause more chaos. "It is from that night, even if I hadn't gone back, it was there already." She thought as tears ran down her face. She thought it was over for her, but Kieran was restless in his home, he was waiting, hoping Lucy would come to him after getting rid of her tormentor, but she never showed up. "Is everything okay Alpha?" Finick asked him. "No Finick, why isn't she coming to me, nothing is stopping her anymore, so why isn't she coming?" He held his hair. He knew he could use his powers to bring her and lock her into his room, but he wanted her to come of her own accord. "Why don't you go to her, perhaps she's embarrassed that you might think the worse if her." Finick advised, further confusing Kieran. "Embarrassed? Why would she be?" "She did cheat on her mate with you." Finick pointed out. "Oh that was not her mate, just a man thinking he could own her, plus there is nothing to be embarrassed about." Kieran concluded and stood up from his seat, startling Finick. "Where to sir?" The beta asked. "To her house, if she won't come here, then I'll go to her." Kieran smiled and walked to the car. They were at Lucy's house in no time, "We're here your Highness." Finick opened his car and he walked out. He knocked. Once, Twice, Thrice. No response. He banged on the door, opening it with no force exerted at all. "Lucy? Are you there?" What he got in response was a retching sound. He rushed to the source from where the sound came. "Are you okay?" He asked, then he listened intently. He gasped, "You're carrying my child. Our child." It didn't cross his mind for once that it could be another man's child, that's how much faith he had in her. She looked up at him in surprise, "How did you know?" She questioned as he helped her up. "I just do." He pulled her in for a hug and she leaned on him totally, then she remembered the rumors she's heard from the women in the pack. She pulled away, Kieran thought it was to wash her mouth, but the look in her eyes says otherwise, he was confused, then he remembered Finick's words. "You don't have to be embarrassed Lucy, it's okay, I don't mind." She was confused, but to not attract attention to herself, she went along with his words and nodded. He hugged her again, this time, she forced herself to stay still, to hug him back. Kieran smiled, happy that everything was coming together for him, finally. "Let's get you cleaned up." He said and walked her to the sink. After getting cleaned up, Kieran led her to the kitchen and asked, "What would you like to eat?". "I can't keep anything down, maybe apple juice?" She shrugged. "Apple juice is not food, but I have the thing to help with the morning sickness." Lucy's ears perked at that. "Really? Where is it?" She wanted it right away, she hates having to puke every time. "I'll go get it for you after preparing something to eat for you." He promised and made her some snacks, with spices to help her keep her food down. "Hmm, this is good." Lucy had to admit she enjoyed the food, but seeing him was doing things to her. "I'm glad you enjoy it." The Lycan King smiled, happy that he was able to satisfy his mate. "How about you get that thing for me." Lucy smiled at him. He nodded and rushed out of the house. After he was gone, a knock sounded on Lucy's door. She answered with a fake smile, thinking Kieran forgot something. "You're in grave danger, run for your life." The mysterious woman spoke and left. Lucy blinked, once, twice, and snapped into action. "I'm in danger?!" She gasped.
