Chapter 3 Three

Kieran walked into the club in the hopes of getting some fun, he didn't think he would meet his mate that same night and that it would be easy for him to score a night with her.

What shocked him however was how she left with no trace in the next day before he woke up.

Kieran woke up with a pounding headache and a deep sense of regret. He couldn't believe he had let himself get so drunk last night. He stumbled out of bed and looked around the room, hoping to catch a glimpse of the woman he had been with the night before. But all he saw was an empty bed and a note on the nightstand.

"Last night was fun, but let's not make it a habit. -J"

Kieran felt a pang of disappointment. He had hoped to see her again, to get to know her better. But now it seemed like she wanted nothing to do with him.

He got dressed, trying to shake off the feeling of rejection. As he walked out of the apartment, he noticed a familiar scent in the hallway. It was the same perfume that J had been wearing last night.

Kieran followed the scent down the hall, his heart racing with anticipation. But, the scent faded at the door.

"Finick!" He shouted, calling out to his beta.

"Yes alpha," Finick replied, running to him in urgency.

"I need you to find that girl for me." He commanded, he knew it would be hard considering the fact that she gave him a fake name.

Finick nodded, knowing better than to question his alpha. "Understood, alpha. I'll do my best to track her down."

Kieran couldn't shake off the feeling that J was his mate. He had always been skeptical of the idea of having a mate, but the way his body responded to her scent told him otherwise.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, but Finick was unable to track down J. Kieran was starting to lose hope, but he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was meant to be with her.

One day, Kieran received a package in the mail. It was a small box with no return address. When he opened it, he found a note and a small vial of perfume.

"Meet me at the old warehouse on 5th Street at midnight. Come alone."

Kieran didn't hesitate. He knew it was J. He immediately drove to the old warehouse. When he arrived, he saw her standing there.

"I couldn't take you off my mind." Lucy had left the house once more.

Trent was assigned a special assignment by their Alpha, giving her the opportunity to do whatever she liked.

"Okay." Kieran knew he was being a fool for her, but it was necessary considering how much he's spent on looking for her.

Once again, she left, but Kieran was sure that she was a member of his pack by extension.

Being the Lycan King made it so that he oversee many packs.

"I know where to find her, Finick, let's go." He commanded and they got into the car driving in the direction of Lucy's pack.

Lucy had been caught by Trent while she was sneaking in from her night endeavor the next morning.

"Where are you coming from dressed like that?" His menacing voice came from the couch he was sitting on.

Lucy gasped, "It's not what you think of Trent, I swear on the Goddess." She quickly said, taking a step back as he took a step closer to her.

It only meant one thing, a beating.

Trent grabbed Lucy by the arm, his grip tight and painful. "You think I'm stupid, Lucy? I know what you've been up to. You've been sneaking out at night, meeting with that Lycan from the other pack. What are you doing with him?"

Lucy winced in pain, tears streaming down her face. "He's my mate, Trent. I can't help it. I need to see him."

Trent sneered at her. "Your mate? You think I'll let you go off with him, just like that? You're mine, Lucy. You belong to this pack, to me."

Lucy tried to pull away from him, but his grip only tightened. "Please, Trent. Let me go. I need to be with him."

Trent let out a cruel laugh. "You want to be with him? No bitch! You're mine and mine alone." That was when the real beating started.

Kieran and Finick arrived at the pack house later that day. Kieran was ready to take care of the bastard once and for all.

"We're here to see your Alpha, Trent." He said to the guard posted at the door.

"Of course, your highness." He replied, bowing before letting them in.

"Alpha," Finick said as he entered the room with Kieran.

Trent turned around in his chair and sneered at them. "Ah, die mighty Alpha has finally decided to pay me a visit."

Kieran rolled his eyes, he had never liked the bastard. He was always rude to him and he knew that he was the reason why the pack wasn't doing well.

"Where is she?" He asked, getting straight to the point.

Trent laughed at him. "Where is who?"

"You know who I'm talking about. I want her back."

Trent shrugged, "if you want her, you'll have to fight me." Trent smirked, but his smirk wore off when he realized that Kieran was the Lycan King, a higher rank than he could ever think of.

"I know what to do, being him outside!" Kieran stood up and left the house while calling on a pack meeting with every elder of the Blue Hills pack.

"This man here has been charged with a serious crime, here is my judgment," Kieran spoke and no one dared oppose him or his words.

"Trent, you're no longer a member of the blue hills pack, you're banished!"

Trent's eyes widened, struggling as they dragged him away.

"No!"
