"I don't know. Someone left it for you at the reception. And here, someone left you these donuts too," Olivia replied, handing a box of donuts to Sarah.
Sarah's heart skipped a beat. Could this be from her secret admirer?
"Thanks," she said to Olivia, trying to hide her excitement.
Olivia just rolled her eyes and walked away, leaving Sarah alone with her thoughts once again.
Sarah opened the envelope slowly, her heart racing with anticipation,
Inside, was a love letter, written in a different handwriting than her previous anonymous letters. She began to read it, feeling her cheeks blush as she absorbed the words.
"My dearest Sarah,
I hope this letter finds you well. I just wanted to let you know how beautiful you looked today. Your smile is a ray of sunshine in this dreary world. I know we have never met before, but there is something about you that has captivated my heart. I hope to get to know you better soon.
With love,
Your Secret Admirer"
Sarah's heart leapt with joy, and she couldn't help but smile. She was confused and excited at the same time that someone had taken notice of her, that someone had appreciated her, despite all the negativity that surrounded her.
As she finished reading the letter, Olivia walked by, and Sarah couldn't help but wave it in front of her.
"Looks like you have another secret admirer," Olivia said, smirking.
Sarah just laughed, happy to have a small piece of happiness amidst all the challenges she faced at work.
As she took a bite of her donut, she knew that life is never perfect but finding small moments of joy was what kept her going.
Just then , she saw Jason pass by her table, only to sit at another table. She felt a pang of sadness in her heart. Sarah and Jason were not only friends, but they were also co-workers. They used to joke around and have fun together, but after their argument a few weeks ago, Jason had been avoiding her.
The tension at the rooming house was unbearable. She missed her friend and decided that it was time to break the ice. She took a deep breath and walked over to Jason's table.
"Hey, Jason. What's up?" Sarah asked, trying to sound casual.
Jason looked up at her, but he didn't say anything. He just raised his eyebrows and went back to reading his book.
Sarah could feel her heart racing. What if Jason was still angry with her? She needed to do something to make things right.
"Jason, can we talk?" Sarah asked, pleadingly.
Jason looked up at her again, but this time he said, "Sure, what do you want to talk about?"
"I miss you, Jason. We used to have so much fun together. Why are you avoiding me?" Sarah asked, with a hint of sadness in her voice.
Jason still didn't say anything. Instead, he just looked at her with a stern expression on his face.
"Please, Jason. I'm sorry about our last argument. I know I said some stupid things, but I didn't mean it. Can we just forget about it and go back to being friends?" Sarah pleaded.
Jason continued to look at her, but this time he had a small smile on his face.
"You know, Sarah, you really are something else. You always know how to make me laugh," Jason said, finally breaking his silence.
Sarah let out a sigh of relief. She knew she had a chance to make things right.
"Do you remember the time when we were supposed to be working, but we ended up watching cat videos on YouTube for hours?" Sarah asked, trying to lighten the mood.
Jason couldn't help but chuckle. "Yeah, that was a fun day."
"And what about the time when we had to hide from the boss because we were caught playing Pokemon Go during our lunch break?" Sarah added.
Jason laughed out loud this time. "Oh, man. That was hilarious. We were like kids hiding from our parents."
Sarah smiled, feeling happy that she was able to make Jason laugh. "See, Jason. We have so many funny moments together. I miss that."
Jason looked at her and shook his head. "I miss you too, Sarah. And I'm sorry for not listening to you about the secret admirer. I should have trusted you."
Sarah's eyes widened in surprise. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. "Really, Jason? You mean that?"
Jason nodded. "Yes, Sarah. I was being stubborn, but you were right. I should have listened to you. I'm sorry."
Sarah felt relieved and grateful. "Thank you, Jason. That means a lot to me."
Jason smiled at her. "So, are we cool now?"
Sarah nodded, a big smile spreading across her face. "Yeah, we're cool now."
The two friends hugged, happy to have made amends.
Sarah sat at her desk, smiling contentedly. The amends she had made with Jason had brought a sense of peace and happiness that she had been lacking lately. She looked around the bustling advertising agency and her eyes fell on her colleagues, all busy at work. Sarah knew she should be focusing on her own work, but her mind kept replaying the memory of her conversation with Jason.
Just then, her heart skipped a beat as her boss, Hayden, called for her to come to his office. Sarah couldn't help but feel excited at the prospect of being called in by her crush. She stood up, smoothed out her skirt and walked towards his office confidently. As she walked, she couldn't help but appreciate his chiselled jawline, broad shoulders and toned arms he was so incredibly sexy.
As she entered his office, Sarah's heart raced at the sight of Hayden sitting there at his desk, looking as hot as ever. She tried to maintain her composure, but she couldn't help but feel lustful thoughts creeping into her mind. Hayden was wearing a tailored suit that hugged his muscular frame perfectly. Sarah's gaze trailed down his body, appreciating his long legs and well-defined chest.
But Sarah's thoughts were soon interrupted when Hayden accused her of reading love letters during work hours. She couldn't believe what she was hearing she hadn't been reading love letters at all! She knew instantly it was Olivia that scheming little witch. But instead of throwing Olivia under the bus, Sarah decided to take the high road and apologize. Even though she didn't understand why Olivia would do such a thing. Or maybe Olivia is also crushing on her boss. "no it can't be" she thought to herself. She once heard Olivia has a girlfriend, she's gay or maybe she's bisexual, mmm you'll never know with this kind of things. she was lost in her own array of thoughts, she even forgot where she was. Hayden's cough brought her back to reality.
