Chapter 10 The charming new hire

The next morning, Sarah was in high spirits as she walked towards the entrance of the advertising agency where she worked. She had taken Emma's tips on how to seduce her boss to heart, and today, she was putting them to the test. She had spent considerable time picking out the right outfit and decided on a very formal suit that accentuated her curves and made her look professional.

As soon as she stepped into the lobby, she was greeted with envious stares from her colleagues. She felt like a runway model strutting down the aisle, confident and self-assured. One of her colleagues, Paul, who had always been quite forward with her, came up to her as she walked towards her desk.

"Wow, Sarah, you look absolutely stunning today," he said with a grin.

Sarah smiled back awkwardly, feeling self-conscious about all the attention she was receiving. "Thanks, Paul. I thought I'd dress up today."

"Well, you definitely nailed it. You're making all of us look bad," he joked.

Sarah laughed nervously, trying to brush off the compliment. She was too focused on trying to impress her boss to worry about what her colleagues thought of her.

As she got closer to her desk, she noticed her boss, Mr. Hayden Cooper, staring intently at her. It was as if he was seeing her for the first time. She felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment but at the same time, she felt a sense of satisfaction knowing that Emma's tips had worked.

She quickened her pace, trying to avoid any awkward conversations with Hayden, who seemed to be ogling her in a way that made her feel uncomfortable. When she finally reached her desk, she took a deep breath and sat down, trying to compose herself.

"Good morning, Sarah," her colleague, Sabrina, greeted her warmly. "You look amazing today."

Again, Sarah blushed at the attention. "Thanks, Sabrina. I appreciate it."

She busied herself with her work, trying not to think about Hayden, who seemed to be lurking around her desk. She could feel his eyes on her, even when he was no longer in sight.

As she worked, Paul walked over to her, hoping to score some points with her. "You know, Sarah, there's something about you today... I can't quite put my finger on it," he said in a suggestive tone.

Sarah tried her best to ignore him. "I'm sorry, Paul, I'm pretty busy at the moment. Can we catch up later?"

"Sure, sure, I'll leave you to your work," he replied, backing off.

Finally, Hayden approached her desk with an air of confidence that Sarah found intimidating. "Good morning, Sarah. You're looking quite impressive today."

Sarah looked up at him, feeling nervous. "Thank you, sir. I thought I'd try something different today."

"Well, it suits you well," he said with a subtle nod of approval. "Why don't we have a chat in my office later this afternoon? I think there's a project I'd like you to work on."

Sarah's heart skipped a beat. This was it. The moment she had been waiting for. "Yes, sir, that would be great. What time should I come by?"

"Let's say around 2 pm. Does that work for you?"

Sarah nodded eagerly. "Yes, that works perfectly. I'll be there."

"Excellent," Mr. Cooper said with a smile, turning to leave. "I'll see you then."

As he walked away, Sarah couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. She had successfully caught his attention, but now she had to prove her worth to him at the meeting later that day. She had a lot of work to do, but she knew that Emma's tips had helped her make a lasting impression on her boss.

Later in the day, Sarah was sitting at her usual table in the canteen, trying to relax before her meeting with Mr. Cooper. She wanted to clear her mind before the big event, but her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of Jason's voice.

"Hey, Sarah, why didn't you wake me up this morning? I was almost late for work," he said, walking up to her with a scowl on his face.

Sarah looked up at him, feeling surprised. "I'm sorry, Jason, I didn't know you wanted me to wake you up. I figured you could set your own alarm."

"Well, I overslept today, and it's your fault," he said, still looking annoyed.

Sarah rolled her eyes, feeling frustrated. "I'm sorry, Jason. I'll make sure to wake you up next time, okay?"

Jason nodded, still grumbling under his breath. Sarah knew that he could be temperamental at times, but she didn't have the energy to deal with him right now. She had bigger things on her mind, like impressing her boss and making a name for herself in the advertising world.

As she was sitting there, lost in thought, she heard a familiar voice coming from the next table. It was Olivia, her mean co-worker, who always had something snarky to say.

"Did you see Sarah today? She's wearing a suit like she's some kind of executive. Who does she think she is?" Olivia said, looking around to see if anyone was listening.

Sarah felt a pang of anger and hurt. She had worked hard to dress nicely and feel confident, yet Olivia was trying to tear her down. She decided to confront Olivia once and for all.

"Excuse me, Olvia. I heard what you said. Why do you always have to be so mean to me? I'm just trying my best," Sarah said, her voice shaking with anger.

Olivia looked up at her, surprised that Sarah had confronted her. "What are you talking about? I didn't say anything wrong."

"You always talk behind my back and make me feel bad about myself. I'm sick of it," Sarah said, feeling more confident now that she was standing up for herself.

Olivia smirked, feeling amused. "Oh, please. You're just jealous because everyone knows you're not cut out for this job. You're just a pretty face with no talent."

Sarah felt her blood boil. She couldn't believe Olivia was saying these things to her. She wanted to scream at her and tell her off, but Jason stepped in between them, trying to diffuse the situation.

"Hey, hey, calm down! What's going on here?" he said, looking at Sarah and Olivia with concern.

Sarah took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. "Olivia was saying mean things about me again, Jason. I can't take it anymore."

"Is that true, Olivia?" Jason said, looking at her with disappointment.

Olivia shrugged, trying to play it cool. "I was just telling the truth. She's not good at what she does."

Jason shook his head, feeling frustrated. "You two need to stop fighting. Remember the warning you got from HR last time? You don't want to lose your jobs over something stupid like this."

Sarah and Olivia nodded, feeling ashamed. They knew that Jason was right, and they didn't want to get in trouble with the company. They both went back to their tables, feeling angry and humiliated.

As Sarah sat there, sipping her coffee, she realized that no matter how hard she tried, there would always be people like Olivia in the world. People who wanted to tear her down and make her feel small. But Sarah refused to let them get the best of her. She had a meeting with Mr. Cooper in a few hours, and she was determined to impress him no matter what.

Sarah had been checking her phone repeatedly the whole day since , Hayden, her boss, asked her to come to his at 2 pm. She knew she was going to meet her crush, and her curiosity was getting the better of her.

Finally, the clock hit 2, and Sarah jumped out of her chair. She made sure she had her phone and quickly walked to Hayden's office, trying to hide her excitement.

As she reached Hayden's office, she took a deep breath and opened the door. Hayden was sitting at his desk staring intently at his computer. Sarah cleared her throat, catching his attention.

"Oh, Sarah. Come on in," said Hayden. His tone was formal, and Sarah wondered if she had read too much into his words.

She walked in and noticed that there was someone else in the room. Jake, a man who she had never seen before, was standing in the corner looking at her. She couldn't help but notice how charming he was with his beautiful eyes and sexy voice.

"Sarah, I'd like you to meet Jake. He's the new hire at the advertising agency, and he's going to be working with us," said Hayden. Jake shook her hand, and Sarah couldn't help but feel a spark of attraction.

"So, Sarah, I wanted to talk to you about your performance over the past few months. You've been doing excellent work, and I think you're the perfect one to work with Jake," said Hayden.

Sarah felt her heart racing. She had been waiting for this moment for a long time , to talk with her crush Hayden but there is another person in his office who's also charming.

" I'd like you to work closely with Jake on our next project. He's got some excellent ideas, and I think the two of you can come up with something fantastic," continued Hayden.

Sarah was excited but tried to hide it. She didn't want to appear too eager in front of Jake.

"That sounds like a great opportunity, Sir. I'm looking forward to working with Jake," said Sarah, trying to keep her voice steady and professional.

Jake flashed her a smile, and Sarah felt her heart skip a beat.

"So, Sarah, why don't you and Jake go to the conference room and start brainstorming on this project. I have a meeting now, and I'll catch up with you guys later," said Hayden, indicating that the meeting was over.

As Sarah and Jake left the room, she couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement. She had met her crush, and she also met a very handsome man too. Moreover, she would be working closely with Jake, the charming new hire.

"So, Sarah, what do you think of Hayden? He's a great boss, isn't he?" said Jake, trying to start a conversation.

Sarah smiled and answered, "Yes, he's fantastic. He's always supportive, and I learn a lot from him."

Jake nodded, "I agree. What about you? What do you do for fun?"

They spent the next two hours discussing their hobbies, interests, and the project. Sarah found herself drawn to Jake. He was intelligent, funny, and had a way of making her feel comfortable.

As they wrapped up their meeting, Hayden walked in and asked, "So, did you guys come up with anything exciting?"

Sarah and Jake exchanged a glance and smiled, "We sure did. We think we have a fantastic idea for the project."

Hayden nodded, impressed, "I knew you two would make a great team. Sarah, please don't let me down, and Jake, I'd like to give you a better position on this project. I think you deserve it."

Sarah couldn't help but feel grateful. She had met her crush and had a chance to work closely with Jake, the charming new hire. She knew that this was going to be the start of something great. A friendship maybe???
