Chapter Five

Lydia was confused. She stared at Joseph, who was staring back at her with so much curiosity written across his face. She had been told that her parents were dead, thus the confusion of how she was standing right before her mother.

"I know there are several questions you have lingering across your mind, but I can assure you that what I am talking about is the truth." Lydia watched as the woman raised her left arm towards her and showed her a birthmark, which was similar to hers.

"This had always been the symbol that distinguished us from the rest of the pack. You have that birth mark" Lydia stared deeply into the eyes of the woman and for some odd reason, she connected to her perfectly fine.

"Thinking about it, she has your eyes as well.." Joseph indicated. It all felt like a dream to Lydia, who was still soaked up in confusion.

"Tell the maids to prepare her a room. I wish to be left alone with my daughter." Larissa indicated and Joseph stepped out of the room.

While their alone, Lydia watched as her supposed mother moved up to a shelve and pulled out several pictures and handed it over to her. Lydia was shocked to see someone who almost lookrd like her staring back in the frames of that picture.

"When I was young, I met the love of my life and when I thought I would get consumated to him, several members of my former pack declared me to be a witch as I wasn't able to produce for him a child. Many even went ahead to say that I was the cause of the several mysterious death that was occuring in the pack. Despite my plea to your father, he was slowly beginning to align himself with their lives, until one day, he was killed by some rogues. I was sent out of the pack and for several months I travelled through the forest till I arrived here. I met your father, my mate. He was loving and kind and the people here adored me. Yet again another tragic event occurred. Your father was killed in a war against rogues and I was left to handle the situation of the pack. Right before he died, I was with child and had given birth in the midst of war. I didn't want my child to grow up with traumatic events of the war, I sent a maiden to take her away, hoping that one day I would see you once again. Years passed and I regretted my actions." Larissa walked closer to Lydia, held her chin up and stared into her eyes. Lydia could see tears threatening to fall. "But today, I have been given a second chance to see you again daughter. Welcome home." Larissa embraced her tightly.

Lydia felt whole for the first time in several months. She didn't need to question the validity of her mother's assertion; the chemistry and bond was there. Lydia felt tears flowing down her face as she remained still in the hug. She was finally going to live a life void of sorrows.

Meanwhile, Elvis stared into nothing as several of his council men argued back and forth about the wellness of the pack. His thoughts haven't been at rest, since his decision to reject Lydia. Every night, her tears still hunted him and despite all the options available to clear them out, it was almost impossible to stop the night mares.

"Alpha." He was pulled back from his thoughts by his Beta, who had a look of worry on his face. Elvis looked around and was confused as to how the place had become isolated.

"What happened?" He asked, adjusting himself on the seat.

"I had to call off the meeting as the entire place was getting rowdy. I noticed you had zoned out and needed a private space, that's why I sent them away as well." Elvis sighed, irritated over the fact that he couldn't concentrate on his meetings any longer.

"What decisions did you reached with them?" Elvis asked.

"They all suggested that you visit Glory Pack. They have a very good security force and with our alignment with them, it could strengthen the pack." Elvis had been meaning to go to the pack himself. Upon hearing of the Alpha being a lady, he believed it would be great to utilize the opportunity to present a good relationship with the pack.

"Get the rides ready, we are heading for Glory pack immediately." Ordinarily, he would have waited for another day, however Elvis didn't want to stay another minute in the pack. Aside going to Glory pack to meet with the Alpha, he wanted to use the opportunity to get his thoughts away from Lydia as well.

After several hours of driving through the lonely road, they arrived at the boarders of the pack. Elvis couldn't deny the fact that several things had changed since the last time he was here. He could still remember he had met a young maiden in the pack, who had given him a gift as a child. His father had told him that Glory Pack's members were good people.

Once they were allowed into the pack, Elvis and his Beta headed for the mansion, where a woman, who he believed would slightly be the age of his late mother stood with smiles across her face. There was something familiar about her face, but Elvis could not place the identity to it.

"Welcome to Glory Pack Alpha Elvis, let's go inside." They both headed for the chambers, while the pack soldiers waited outside. The moment the huge doors were opened, Elvis was thrilled to see the amazing interior of the chamber, it was luxurious and beautiful.

"To what do I owe this beautiful visit Alpha Elvis?" He was pulled out of his thoughts as he watched her ascend the throne. Elvis himself, took a seat and while he was about speaking, the door opened and Elvis felt her presence before he could see her. Once he turned around, he was shocked, as was the familiar face right before him.

"Alpha Elvis, meet my daughter Lydia." Elvis was dumbfounded. Lydia? A daughter to the Alpha of Glory Pack?

"What? Lydia is your daughter!" Elvis said in shock.

Alpha Larissa was at alarm, "You know her?"

"Yes I do my queen." Elvis said and explained what transpired to the queen.

Queen Larissa wept so bitterly as well as Lydia while Elvis went on his knees and pleaded With her to forgive him.

Lydia went to him and carried him up from the ground, then she embraced him.

"I already forgave you a long time ago. Had it been not the rumor of me that I was evil, I know you wouldn't have acted the way you did." Lydia said.

"You are my mate and I really love you. When I heard that you drown and died, I had not been feeling okay. I really do love you." Elvis said.

"I love you too." Lydia said as they hugged once more.

"For maltreating my daughter, we need to see those cruel people." Queen Larissa said and even though Lydia hold her to stop her, she still refused.

Queen Larissa called her beta and once preparations were made, they went to the pack where Dylan and his family lived, which was also Elvis's pack.

Dylan, Amara and Kelly was shocked to see them all. When they saw Lydia, they wanted to run away but the guards with the people Lydia came with hold them hostage.

"My daughter has told me all the evil things you did to her, and now you can't escape this. You will be dealt with." Queen Larissa said.

"Please forgive them mother, I have no grudge against them. Had it been they had not been wicked to me and made me to run away, how could I have met you? I believe this was the moon goddess plan at the start. Please let them be mother." Lydia said.

Although queen Larissa hesitated for a while, she gave the guards signs to let them be which the guards did.

"Despite all the evil melted on her by you people, she was still able to forgive you. One thing you can never be able to do." Queen Larissa said.

Elvis stepped forward, "From today hence forth, you are banished from this pack. You are now an outcast and will be hanged to death if ever you are found here ever again." Elvis said as shock was drawn on Dylan, Amara and Kelly's face.

The guards dragged them out of their pack as they wept and begged but all their pleading fell on deaf ears.

"Now that everything has been resolved, can you become mine now?" Elvis asked while holding Lydia's arm.

Lydia smiled in returned as she nodded, "of course, I am all yours."

And as made their way back to Glory pack, there were happiness and merriment amongst them.

Two week later, Lydia had gotten married to Elvis and became the Luna of his pack. She was pampered by him and loved by all and she could not be more grateful to the moon goddess on the way I life played out .. from being a slave to a Luna.
