Chapter Four

Lydia felt something coming in contact with her skin, for a moment, she thought it was merely a dream like situation, till she felt a tingling sensation across her back, which forced her to tell our loud. She woke up from her unconscious state and rubbed the spot careful. It was irritating to know that there was nothing she could do about the bite as it was farther down her back; a place her hands could only reach and not her eyes.

"At long last you are awake." She heard a deep masculine voice, which forced her to look around and standing right before her was a young bearded man. Tall, slightly muscular and by far one of the most alluring eyes stared down at her with a half smile on his face.

"Who are you?" She asked, struggling to get up to her feet. He helped her up, but Lydia was too weak to stand, thus falling uncontrollably back down. She nearly fell on her back, but was helped by the man.

"You should be grateful that you are still alive, which causes me to wonder, what sort of woman would choose death as their last option." His statement caused several waves of memories flooding into her head. She remembered being rejected by Elvis and the harsh treatment from her fooster parents.

"The sort of woman that has undergone through several pains and agony." She revealed, turning her neck around. Apparently her ears had perked up to the sounds of the rushing waters as they flow peacefully. She had never been the sort of person to be suicidal, but the events of the last few days had caused her to very much go into the dark places.

"Come on now, it's almost morning, let me get you over to my pack." He stretched forth his hands and for a moment Lydia was hesitant. She wasn't the sort of person to be easily accessible with strangers, but knowing she had no where to go and no one to stay with, she took his hands which were firm.

"How did you found me?" Lydia asked as they walked through the forests. The night was almost shifting from it's position as the morning slowly approaches. The illuminating moon was slowly fading as the rays of the sun approached.

"I came to check on the patrol soldiers and found you lying on the pool of the waters lifeless. It is such a miracle that the waves of the waters were not strong to pull you away. I took you out and tried to revive you." Lydia noticed something peculiar about the strange man. He wasn't like a regular wolf and fits into the wolves of great importance. "What is your name?" He asked after a minute of abrupt silence.

"Lydia. You?" He pulled several branches aside and while he paused at the spot, Lydia stepped forward to behold a very beautiful territory filled with modern houses with great architectural structure.

"Welcome to Glory Pack. My name is Joseph. I am the Beta of this pack." It fully explained his distinctive appearance.

They passed through several houses and it was totally silent. Only a few pack members were outside. Lydia believed that for some reason, she would easily adapt to the environ itself.

They arrived at a special house, which was adjacent to a gigantic mansion. The mansion was totally different in terms of size than the rest of the house and it made Lydia believed it belonged to the Alpha.

"This is my home and I want you to make yourself comfortable till the sun is fully rise. I will speak to the Alpha about you and see if you can be allowed to stay in the pack for a few days." Lydia nodded, while Joseph aided her to a small enclosed room.

The room had only a single window and a medium size bed, an indication that it was seldomly used by anyone. When Lydia had gotten comfortable into the room, she opened the window and stared out. Her gaze were on the mansion and she wondered who was the Alpha of the pack and how he had amazed so much wealth to make such a place perfect.

Again, memories of the incident from her fooster parents and the rejection from Elvis flooded her brain. She felt a little sober realizing that the one person she had hoped would love her would turn out to be her worst night mare.

'I think it is time we get over this phase.' Lydia heard Nina her wolf state. Apparently Nina had been completely silent since the rejection and Lydia had almost forgotten about her.

'I know, I am trying to get myself together.' Lydia responded as she closed the window and made her way back to her bed. She could only hope that the Alpha of the pack accepted her. She didn't know how things would be if she is not accepted.

Meanwhile, Alpha Larissa was up early, tending to her body in the pool of clean waters, when she received information that her beta was here to see her. When she got out of the water, she changed into something casual and urged that Joseph step into her chambers.

"It's quite odd seeing you in the mansion this early? What is the problem?" Larissa asked as she made herself comfortable on her bed, staring at Joseph. The duo had a mutual relationship, based on trust and believe for each other.

"I found a young girl unconscious by the riverside in the early hours of the morning. I brought her to my house." Larissa was well aware of the implication of Joseph's statement.

"Bring her to me." Joseph bowed and left the room, while Larissa stared at the ceiling staring into oblivion. After a few minutes, the door opened and Joseph stepped in with a very much familiar face.

The moment Larissa laid eyes on her, she gasped in disbelief. She was seeing a reflection of herself in the eyes of the young maiden before her. Quickly, she jumped out of the bed and rushed up to meet up with her.

"What is your name?" Larissa asked with several anxiety running through her body.

"Lydia." Alas! That was all she needed to confirm the thoughts running through her head. She turned to look at Joseph with a smile on her face.

"The moon goddess has a perfect script to everything. This young lady here is my long lost daughter...."
